I listened to the song in the trailer in its entirety. It's Asha's I-want song; she wants to wake the people up to the king's lies. It's great, you'll love it.

The animal sidekick is in the core of this story, that of the Disney Star that people wish upon; often these wishes make animals anthropomorphic. Star animating Valentino is an exposition of the process. In this film, we should also see Star creating known animal characters on classic Disney films like Bambi, that cross-over had been confirmed.
Im so obsessed with this trailer!!! I remember seeing the teaser play in the cinema and it looks even more beautiful on the big screen, this is gonna be such a marvel to watch. Cant wait to see it in theatres!!
She had the Casita as her companion, and there were plenty of other animals for the other characters to fill in the gap so it didn't feel like it was lacking.Macaws, Donkeys, rats, jaguar, capybaras etc
It's actually a normal thing, 😄 most heroes and heroines have sidekicks in stories, without a companion by their side, the hero never would've reach to their goals. Few examples, remember when Hans trapped Anna in the cold with a frozen heart? 🚪💙 If it weren't for Olaf who warmed her back up, 🔥⛄ Anna never would've gained enough strength to make her way through the blizzard in time to save her sister. 👸❤👸 And in the Lion King, remember when Scar's hyena minions chased Simba in the desert when he was a cub, 🏜🐾 if it weren't for his new companions Timon and Pumbaa, 🐞🐗 Simba never would've grew into the King he is now and save his land. 🦒🦓🦁👑🦓🦒 And in Aladdin, without his monkey Abu who swiped the lamp from Jafar, 🪔🐒 Aladdin never would've escaped the Cave of Wonders or even met the Genie. 🧑🧞♂️ And in Tangled, if it weren't for Maximus the horse who saved Eugene, 🐴🤥 Eugene never would've saved Rapunzel. 🤥❤👱♀️ (I gave Eugene the wrong nose.) 😄 But you see, side kicks play a special role in the story just as other characters do. Okay, but consider the fact that we haven't really had a TALKING animal companion in a Disney movie in...*awhile*. I think since Princess and the Frog, tbh!
I get why the humour in the trailer isn't working for everyone but to be honest: trailer humour is usually like that. Trailers always have fast-paced editing and 'well that just happened' jokes, but I think in the actual movie they'll be toned down and funnier in context.
Yeah I agree on that. Although it does make me wonder why studios always make trailers like this. Would they not be concerned how the audience will think of it? I honestly enjoyed the trailer. But I do understand the criticisms around d it.
I know butt/fart jokes aren't your thing but let the kids have their laugh. It makes me laugh when it works and I'm 20. Edit: oh you were talking about the animals. Okay. Well the animal side kicks are pretty much a Disney tradition, and as long they are not entirely annoying I can enjoy them. And the goat looks enjoyable.
Too be fair with the whole talking animal thing, this is supposed to be Disney's big 100th anniversary celebration film so it makes loads of sense to embrace their traditions and celebrate the iconic parts of all Disney films past and present. The entire films concept is basically a reference to the iconic "when you wish upon a star", the mixture of old school Disney 2D and their modern 3D looks, talking animal companion, an actual villain for once, the songs feel more in that modern style like Frozen, etc.
In regards to the annoying talking animal sidekick trope, it usually works if either A. The animal sidekick is just a regular animal with a few quirks (Abu for Aladdin, the chicken from Moana) or B. a fleshed out character that contributes to the emotional arc of the main protagonist (Like Flounder & Sebastian for Ariel or Perrito for Puss in Boots). Having them used only for comic relief can be pretty grating and detrimental to the overall storyline. Outside of that, I'm glad you're enjoying this movie and i hope it lives up to your expectations when it's released.
I mean considering this is supposed to be a 100 year aniversary of disney movie it makes sense they are trying to stay so formulaic and honestly conisdering some of Disney's newer movies, even the good one's like Encanto I think everyone could use some old Disney Magic.
Hopefully Disney will bother giving this *enough* advertising. I just prefer original animated IP over live action remakes, no matter what someone might think about Raya or whatever.
I hated that they didn’t give Strange World enough advertising It was a great movie imo, but if I had never gone to the drivein on a specific day I would never heard about it and I only seen 1 trailer constantly repeating
'my butt found it' probably wouldn't amuse me if I didn't have a cat with super butt bumping powers like, he just doesn't pay attention to where he puts his butt and ends up knocking things over that my other cats would never knock over, but I call it the Super Booty Bump. its just one of his quirks. and because its a quirk of my cat, I giggled at the 'my butt found it' line. cos my cat would absolutely find something like that.
Moana should’ve been a lesson for Disney that you don’t always need an animal compassion , they used to work cuz they were involved with the story not cuz the character had to have one , also it princesses were different , but we’ve been getting the same personality since tangled
I have so many hopes for Wish and this trailer made me more super excited!! I mainly want to see *Asha going through a Disney death (dying but then magically brought back to life) *A quick moment of Asha blushing at another character (brief romantic hint 🥰) *And most importantly Magnifico must die satisfyingly as a villain! No forcing mercy, forgiveness, sympathy, or any plot twist saying he can’t die, we have to stop that bullshit just to impress liberals! I’m also hoping in general Wish will bring Disney in a new better direction for future films (a path that includes both classic traditions and new ones, not insisting on only kind of story)
For the first thing, not sure it will be fun to see the fake death cliché. It will ruin the scene if she comes back to life. In this case her goat would wish for her to return, makes sense. I still think it's a bad idea to put that in the movie.
This movie really seems like the first ray of light from Disney in a while, very much hoping they dont somehow ruin it. But also Zamber you should totally react to the new league coven skins trailer and in particular to one evil, uh, fishie🤭
I hope the villain won't be a twist one like Hans or the guy in Big hero 6. If he's like Jafar, Maleficent, Hades and Cruella; it will be cool. The last real villain we got was Facilier in Princess and the frog. The goat is cute but i would like him better if he doesn't talk. His voice don't go well with his appearance. Also, if he always tell jokes that will be annoying 😐
What is asha's ethnicity? Indian ? As the name seems Indian as it means hope in Hindi(India's national language) and the movie is named wish , this kinda makes sense
This King isn't truly evil imo. I know that Disney isn't showing more of him in true evil mode, but maybe he has ethical reasons why most wishes won't come true for the people of the Town of Rosas.
YESSSSS.... The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement i was madly in love with himmmmm. I blame him for the reason I love enemies to lovers trope so much :P
