Hidden Mickey: When the Star attempts to enter the King's study, its magic takes over a quill, which starts to draw a Mickey Mouse head before scissors go after the quill. The crew who worked on the movie watched all previous 61 animated films while working on the film. The shortest Disney movie from the 2020s, only clocking in at 1 hour and 29 mins. The third Walt Disney Animation Studios film to be produced at 2.55:1 aspect ratio, after Lady and the Tramp (1955) and Sleeping Beauty (1959). According to the director "Let's take up the whole screen space. Why don't we do an aspect ratio of 2.55:1 the widest screen possible that was last used in Sleeping Beauty". That's actually very true. Most people who post negative comments have not actually seen it and it is usually very obvious from the way they describe certain events and characters. It is herd mentality from people who just copy the views of someone they like because they think that this makes therm cool and trendy too. And of course the AI accusations are nonsense. AI (the way we refer to it now) was not widely available at the time this movie was in production.

FINALLY SOMEONE GETS IT! Yes the people give King Magnifico their wishes willing, but they're also blind to the false promise of their wish actually being granted. Giving your wish up with that expectation, forgetting it, and just being ok with that has become the norm. It's the status quo for the people of Rosas. The king does grant some (mostly to make himself look good) and that helps keep alive the false hope that they (someone living in Rosas) might get their chance next. It took someone (Asha) actually seeing the truth and actually questioning things to finally start the change that needed to happen. People should have the chance to go after their own wishes themselves. Even if some of them never come true, they should still be allowed to try. That's all Asha wanted for her family, friends, and community. For everyone to actually have a chance and not a false promise of one. I just wish more people understood that.
@@JestKartoonsStudiosIt gets a lot of hate, but I think the major thing that disappointed me about it was some of the songs. Those villain songs were bops, and I believed Disney could ever let me down for villains or their songs.
@@brandiarmstrong2902 Well, with This Is The Thanks I Get, it was going for a song for someone who sees themselves as the hero, not the villain. So making it upbeat while singing things that make him sound good but having his actions be wrong makes sense.
Tru dat. The only villain I can recall who thought he wasn't one was Frollo, and he was kinda fruity in the loops to start with, so his villain song sorta felt like a bad religious trip, anyway... But still, a total bop.@@JestKartoonsStudios
Actually, I like Chicken Little and Wish, but Chicken Little is a little boring to me as a teenager, but it’s still fun to me. Chicken Little is part of my childhood and I have to celebrate Wish for Disney 100 Year Anniversary, and the main reason I love those, because of my favorite characters like Runt of the Litter (mostly), Fish Out of Water, possibly Asha, Star and possibly Valentino, but I do agree on all of your opinions (Buck Cluck is the worst character and parent of all). I really love the opening songs like One Little Slip and Welcome to Rosas, because they’re so catchy like (Disney/Pixar's Cars's Real Gone and The Simpsons Movie's Theme Song).
I actually saw this in theatres, it takes a while for you eyes to adjust to it being 2D instead of it being 3D animation, but other than that good movie, it’s not my favourite movie of all time or anything but still enjoyable to watch.
My parents gave me some Wish pins and Funko POPs (Valentino and Magnifico. I also have a few plush (2 Star, 2 Valentinos, and Magnifico). My grandma gave me one of the Star Reveals figures for my birthday (I got Dahlia). I’ve also got a couple cups and popcorn buckets from the theater we saw the movie at, the Junior Novelization, a Magnifico cosplay outfit, a Maganifico poster, and Star T-shirt (which my grandma gave me for Christmas).
Alan Tudyk and Chris Pine did great jobs bringing their characters to live. The animation is great, and even though the story's a bit generic, it's still good for their 100th anniversary.
@@SpacialRend7 Agree! Once upon a studio has more passion, fun and imagination than this movie. It also respects Walt's work while here; Magnifico crushed wishes about Peter pan, Snow white and Marry poppins; it's like he's saying '' Thoses movies are trash! This movie is one of my favorite animated film of 2023 along with Super Mario Bros. Movie, Across The Spider-Verse, Chicken Run 2 and I don't really care what those critics are saying about Disney's WISH, would you agree too?

That would interesting to made as an animated movie but the story is sort of short and would've been a classic Disney cartoon short like The Three Pigs

@@pinkprincess6136 It clearly does not deserve all of the hate it’s been getting. It was such a treat to watch it on the big screen multiple times. I haven’t loved a Disney animated film this much since The Princess and the Frog.
Disney’s Wish has gotten such a bad reputation. I cannot ignore that certain things do seem…off putting, but I also can’t bring myself to hate this film either. I will say however that the most recent animated short film from Disney, “Once Upon a Studio” did much better in representing the 100th anniversary of Disney. Still, I give Wish some credit for trying to achieve the kind of effect that the Disney films of old had over the years. Wish is a fun Disney film in my overall opinion.
This reaction is my first time watching “Wish”. I came here to see if it was gonna be good or bad. And from everything I saw, looks like it’ll be a decent film. My only criticism towards it is the animation

Tim: "how are they going to fight him now?" Me: "with the power of song" Tim: "there goes your husband" Me: "she never loved him anyway" Making Asha a fairy godmother undermined the lesson of making your wish come true yourself that the movie showed just second ago IMO.
The expectations of people were set very high for Wish. When they were not met, they got butt hurt and dragged this film’s name through the mud. But, I agree. This movie doesn’t deserve all that toxic hate.

Est-ce que tu as regardé la scène post-crédits ?
I loathe the idea too but don't worry: he is not the mirror and there is no such implication, at least not one officially confirmed so far. The mirror in Snow White is a totally different size, shape and colour and it is ornate. This is just one of the many nods to Disney legacy movies. Some people have also suggested that Asha is the same character as Cinderella's fairy godmother but she is not, she is a different fairy godmother. The art book states that it was just another nod to the Cinderella character, not an origin story. Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee did not support such theories either. They probably don't want a new Pixar theory circulating.
I feel that this movie could have been so much better if they just had stayed with the original ideas about the star being a star boy and Asha's love interest. Also if both King and queen had been evil, that would have made them the first villain couple of a Disney movie which could have bee the best homenage for all villains from the past movies. They could havf made the best 100 year homenage but nooo, they had to change all of that. It feels like Disney just skipped the success.
@@videohistory722 Sorry I wasn't being clear. I'm saying you are right. It was never official that was just a myth. But I'm also saying if they did those so-called ideas. It would have gotten a lot more hate.
I’ve read the Art of Wish book and it didn’t state that Asha and Star were originally going to be love interests. Star was originally going to be a younger version of Sabino who never got his wish granted and passed away.
I like Puss in Boots: The Last Wish movie better. Also, Puss in Boots second movie is a story in Spain. Wish movie is also a story in Iberian Peninsula (Spain). Don’t you see… it’s almost a same subject
Not really. The major contrast between the two is that Puss in Boots is like "Comet's Nine Lives" if it was a Princess Bride style journey; Wish is like if King David was corrupted by Dark Magic rather than Adultery... and that part of the plot shares some similarities with Super Mario RPG.
It's about wishes and a magic star and that's where all the similarities end. And although I am a huge fan of Puss in Boots Last Wish (I am also a fan of Wish but Puss in Boots is my favourite of the two), Last Wish does make a couple of references to Disney's Pinocchio, one being the ethical bug which is clearly a Dreamworks version of Jimini Cricket (the cricket in the original book was not Pinocchio's conscience). Disney's Pinocchio was the first Disney animated movie where a character wishes upon a star (Snow White was praying to god instead).
@@jonathancruz5932 You are seriously asking that? I don't need to hear it, I have seen Disney's Snow White several times. There is an entire short scene with Snow White in praying. She even says amen. The clip can be found if you type Snow White praying and it will only take a few seconds of your life to watch it if it is too much for you to watch the entire movie.
I don't need to hear it from anywhere, I have actually seen Disney's Snow White several times. You can look it up; it will only take a few seconds of your life if watching the movie is too much for you.
In the original concept for the movie King Magnifico and his wife were meant to be a villain couple, we could've had our first Disney VILLAIN COUPLE! And the Star was meant to be a shape shifting boy with godly magic powers. Ashrah and the star boy were meant to have a romance, the song "At All Cost" was meant to be a romantic duet between the two. But they cut that out because apparently giving your female lead a love interest makes her less strong. The movie should've followed the original concept because it's so much better and more interesting than what we got, what a waste.
I had a hard time with this movie! It's not in 2D which is very dissapointing; the last 2D movies was Pooh 2011 and Princess and the frog. Asha's friends are not memorable or interresting; they are just a reference to the 7 dwarves. I can't remember any of their names and saw the film 3 days ago. Valentino was not funny; none of his jokes were good; he was more cute when he didn't talked. The pop music really don't go well in a universe full of magic and talking animals; none of the songs are memorable except '' At all cost! '' for me, my brain didn't keep the others. The climax was lame! Asha didn't use a weapon and fight the king during an epic battle or Valentino distracted him then she stole the staff. She just sing, encourage the villagers to do it too then they win. That was not magical or fun ☹ The animation is ok and the music too but it's not enough to make the movie good. Wish is a 6|10 to me; it's meh.

Lotta people hate the villian saying he's not much of a villian but he's a very much realistic villian, manipulators will do ANYTHING to appear like they deserve everything. But they're not as good as they want others to think they are.

@@FG-tu4fq, nah bro, you don’t get the point, he was good at first till he was corrupt.
I do understand the over age this movie gets . The original concept are great but the movie is still very enjoyable.
This film is dedicated to Burny Mattinson, a Disney legend who died on February 27, 2023, having worked at Walt Disney Animation Studios for over 70 years.
The eighth Walt Disney Animation Studios film to be rated PG for thematic elements, after The Black Cauldron (1985), Big Hero 6 (2014), Zootopia (2016), Moana (2016), Frozen II (2019), Raya and the Last Dragon (2021), Encanto (2021) and Strange World (2022).
The title card is a reference to the same one used in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937).
I love wish it gets way to much hate when it’s actually a Great movie I feel like most people who hate on it haven’t even seen it and are just following a train it may not be like past movies but that’s what makes it original
There's also assumptions about Wish being made with A.I.
@@lexramstudios1386I don’t think there even allowed to use ai
Yep
@@carterryansThere's also the fact people think the villain's not a villain
That's actually very true. Most people who post negative comments have not actually seen it and it is usually very obvious from the way they describe certain events and characters. It is herd mentality from people who just copy the views of someone they like because they think that this makes therm cool and trendy too. And of course the AI accusations are nonsense. AI (the way we refer to it now) was not widely available at the time this movie was in production.
Finally a review that appreciated the movie as much as I did. Everyone online hated it so much and I was beginning to think nobody liked it but me
Fun fact, Simon is voiced by Evan Peters,A.K.A. Quicksilver from the X-men movies and a little bit of Wandavision. It’s also his first voice acting role.
Simon reminds me of Kristoff from Frozen which he shares the same voice actor in the European French dub voiced by Donald Reignoux. I met him in 2022 and 2023.
This movie is overhated IMO. It's for me the best musical Disney animated movie since Rapunzel. And I enjoyed the villain. Finally we've got one who isn't a "surprise".
Wish is definitely an overhated film for sure. I personally love it and consider it one of my new favorite Disney films.
I have a feeling the critics were paid to hate this movie
What about Encanto?
@@averymerrick Sorry, I hated it. One of the worst Disney movies. I found characters annoying, especially the Abuela and the family is so evil that his members didn't present apologizes to Bruno. I certainly prefer Coco, but it's a Pixar movie.

Star was originally going to be human the reason he wasn’t was because it didnt fit in with the movie and it was the only way to simplify his character
Magnifico is voiced by Chris pine
Even Star being a human would be a good idea for the sequel we’re Star has a backstory even I have a theory that Star was a human being after he died he became an Angel of the heavens and waiting for someone to grant a wish to bring him back to earth and someone did and that was Asha even star had amnesia when arrived on earth and doesn’t remember how to change into his human form but acts happy and does crazy stuff but in the sequel he starts remembering his past and it’s up to Asha to help Star get some of his memories back turn into his true self as a human and Asha and Star live happily together at the end
@@ultimatealdo1922true there’s still a chance if they make a series or sequal and that’s a good theory

Yep. It’s one of the legacy nods in the film to celebrate the studio’s 100th anniversary.
I know the movie has flaws but calling it the WORST Disney Animated Feature is a bit dramatic because there are way worse Disney movies than Wish
Right! In my opinion, Chicken Little is way worse. Wish is one of my all time favorite Disney films. 😃
@@JestKartoonsStudiosIt gets a lot of hate, but I think the major thing that disappointed me about it was some of the songs. Particularly "This is the Thanks I Get," which doesn't really hit like the older villain songs. But honestly, I think OG Disney kinda spoiled me.
Wish has a lot of fun characters
"I Granted 14 wishes last year"
There are 12 months in a year, so her granted two wishes in two of the mouths of last year
Wish has a lot of fun characters.
So I make this WISH!
I love this movie!
I got a lot of Wish stuff for my Birthday and for Christmas!
Love the film as well. Got a Wish sweater, bag and art book for Christmas. 😃
My friend gave me a star plush and a blanket
“Once Upon a Studio” actually did it better tbh.
@@SpacialRend7 Agree! Once upon a studio has more passion, fun and imagination than this movie. It also respects Walt's work while here; Magnifico crushed wishes about Peter pan, Snow white and Marry poppins; it's like he's saying '' Thoses movies are trash! '' No respect for animation or fans of the movies.
My favorite songs in the movie are A Wish Worth Making, This Wish, Welcome to Rosas, and Knowing What I Know Now
Mines are this wish and at all cost
This movie is one of my favorite animated film of 2023 along with Super Mario Bros. Movie, Across The Spider-Verse, Chicken Run 2 and I don't really care what those critics are saying about Disney's WISH, would you agree too?

Disney’s Wish has gotten such a bad reputation. I cannot ignore that certain things do seem…off putting, but I also can’t bring myself to hate this film either. I will say however that the most recent animated short film from Disney, “Once Upon a Studio” did much better in representing the 100th anniversary of Disney. Still, I give Wish some credit for trying to achieve the kind of effect that the Disney films of old had over the years. Wish is a fun Disney film in my overall opinion.
You should react to Disney once upon a studio short film

Overhated for no reason
The expectations of people were set very high for Wish. When they were not met, they got butt hurt and dragged this film’s name through the mud. But, I agree. This movie doesn’t deserve all that toxic hate.
You got to consider what the movie could've been once you see the original concepts.

True. Wish has its flaws but it is still a fun enjoyable film, especially for hardcore Disney fans.

I really REALLY dont like the implication Magnifico became the magic mirror in Snow White

Alan Tudyk and Chris Pine should star in my new movie Iago
I feel that this movie could have been so much better if they just had stayed with the original ideas about the star being a star boy and Asha's love interest. Also if both King and queen had been evil, that would have made them the first villain couple of a Disney movie which could have bee the best homenage for all villains from the past movies. They could havf made the best 100 year homenage but nooo, they had to change all of that. It feels like Disney just skipped the success.
Not true. Someone made that up.
@@videohistory722If they had done those ideas if they were real , they would have been sued , probably by neil gayman and parents would complain
@@moneylover318 no, I've seen the actual concept art. What OP is describing was never planned.
@@vassiliapolychronaki1631 Snow White is praying to god? Where did you hear that?

I love the movie wish it's the best movie ever but is anyone else ready for inside out episode 2?
I saw that at the movies
That was not magical or fun ☹
The animation is ok and the music too but it's not enough to make the movie good. Wish is a 6|10 to me; it's meh.
