So got over here and learn that you have a '73 Mustang with the 'Mach 1' logo on it. It's a coupe which has me scratching my head, but I like the fact that it is the Mach 1. My father had a '72 red with black as a company car in '72. It was one fast car with a 351C 4V and a C6 automatic. He used to open that thing up on the 405 in LA and we'd all be pushed back in our seats. It felt like we were flying! I hope you're having fun with it....awesome choice.
Jason, I like how complete and entertaining your video's are! I like that you include Pinto too. All of our animals have been rescues over the years. They are great family members. We have two dogs and a cat now. Keep up the great video's!
Thumbs UP for Pinto Dog! Reminds me of my "helper" Shop Cat. Mr. Lewis, I love the balance of entertainment and real technical content of your vidoes. Keep it up!
on my 73 mach 1 I ran 28x12 r15 on a 15x10 rim on the rear on 5 &1\2 back space and for the front I ran 26x10 on a 15x8 rim with 4 inches of back space. I wish you could have made this video 2 years ago. It would have really taken all of the guess work out of it.
This is awesome not only was I bored and needed something to watch I actually needed this information! I have a set of old Cragar ss wheels I wanted to throw on my Chevelle for a long time but the rears are super wide. I wondered what the proper way to measure them was.
number3665 I'm not sure this is the "proper" way but it has worked for me in the past and you will see the results in a few weeks and we will all know!!! What year Chevelle do you have?
autoedit It's 1970 and my buddy gave me some old Cragars on M50 tires. But I'm thinking they're the wrong backspacing so they won't fit. But even still I think I'll be using your method from now on.
I got my hopes up when I saw the off road tires on that Mustang thought it was going to be open to one of a kind build it did look pretty sweet though with the off road tires
dose this require deep dish rims ? Because I have a 88 IROC-Z and about to do the C5 conversion all will disc brakes and 265 at the front and maybe 255 and 295 in the back . what do I need to do to make that happen ? do I do it step by step how you did ?
can i get link for the haywire wiring harness you have. the next best thing i found was a painless performance 21 circuit that works but i want to use what you use so i know they work. also lemme guess what the part is: hydraulically assisted rack and pinion steering box and rod id love to do with my car what you do with yours, but a dishwashing job doesnt give enough mullah for that.
TheSamplebridge www.haywireinc.com/index.cfm/page/ptype=results/category_id=2/mode=cat/cat2.htm And yes rack and pinion...Hey do some videos on your car projects, it helps and I like your Mustangs.
autoedit we wanted to do a podcast but seeing how young and biased we are it probably will not work out too well. right now i found some gt40 heads off of a 01 explorer out of a junkyard. i going tommorrow to take a look at them.
Robert Ritchey I could use a little help on that one. I like the old school "mini lite" Trans Am racer style www.team3wheels.com/lt_iii.html but everything is so expensive that I'm checking with American Racing Wheels this week. What do you think?
Why, might I ask, are you not going for square stance given the many benefits of it? {{Ease of buying tires and rims, performance increase, stability increase, grip, ability to rotate tires to spread wear and save more money, etc.}}
hey can you show us how yo change an ignition switch for the key im having trouble and i havent found any video on a 73 mustang everythinh they have is eiyher 60's or 80's
Slickpete83 I have helped shoot Roadkill but we all work at TEN which is The Enthusiast Network and each show has their own group making videos for the Motor Trend you tube channel (mine is Dirt Every Day) but we all are on the same team and can help each other out...it's pretty awesome!
Great tire gag to get everyones attention! I thought Charlize might come walking in to give you a hand. Where did you get those cool Red Bull Stratos shirts? I heard you were part of the Bio Medical and fabrication team! Awesome videos! Keep Pinto... he adds character.
+Art Thompson HaHa! Howdy "Mr. T" I'm so glad you stopped by and yes, I'm very proud of my Sage Cheshire Aerospace gear! Thanks so much for letting me be a part of that EPIC program...Looking forward to seeing what you do next.
Zeb Parsons #66 For the front, absolutely. On the rear, let me give you the specifics of what I have going on...stock 9" rear housing with the new axles from Yukon Gear and the Wilwood Brakes so the width on my car might be a little different from stock with drum brakes. So, I would double check by making a few measurements just to be sure.
Ok, yeah we have a 8.8" rear in mine from who knows where. But thanks, I enjoy the videos you put on, and hope to put these products on mine someday, after we get it restored.
Great job explaining how to measure for backspacing. The shot of the Tire in the wheel well at the end of the video looks awesome. I can't wait to see it on the ground now. Throw a few to Pinto for me Jason. ttyl -Drew "Grabbed a Handful of Large Nuts..." You think I was just gonna let that one go? lol I snorted my Coffee on that one! ;)
Supradrew™ HaHa! Yeah, I just couldn't say that without giggling...we're still kids at heart I guess. By the way, your channel is looking good lately...I learned a lot about pennies recently!
autoedit Thx Jason. I've been pretty busy these past few weeks and haven't been able to post much. But I've got lots of free time in August and my next few videos will be about Nickels. I'll throw in a few Metal Detecting videos and maybe even a surprise or two. Thank you very much for your support. I means a great deal to me. ttyl buddy -Drew
Cool video, thanks for the info, now I'm tempted to order something a bit fatter than the 235/70R15's I was planning on using on my 1977 Oldsmobile Delta 88. Gotta check the clearance on the Camaro alloys I got though. They're 15x7, mot sure what the stock width steel wheel is. I've got these old six ply LT 235/75R15's on the back now, Milestone RL858 or something like that, I love the way they look but holy hell are they LOUD. Going down the highway at sixty sounds like there is some kind of demon chasing you. Really gives contrast to have those on the back and the 215/70R15 Goodyear whatever they are passenger car tires on the front. Gotta love used tires, they are cheap and there is no shame in destroying them! Oh hey, by the way, stop playing with your nuts so much. It's really not polite ya know.
autoedit Hey, since you seem to know so much about tires, I'm trying to find some for my car that will work year round, the Milestone's are great, but they and the goodyears are going to live under my S10. I'm trying to find something like them, you can see 'em in the video I mention my car got spraypainted. Know of anything that might work in their stead? I'm hoping to get tires like that on all four corners, thanks. -Ben

autoedit Alright cool, I'll give 'em a shot, I'll give you a shout when I buy them in about a month. Hey, at least if anyone asks, I can just say "They where on sale", that's a valid excuse for having LT M/S tires on a two wheel drive Oldsmobile sedan, right? lol
That's a great guess! Our friends have one and they are so great. I found Pinto the Dog as a tiny stray puppy in Palmdale CA and she's so ugly we just call her Frankenstein dog cause it looks like she was put together with spare parts from other dogs.
off road tires on a car? can it be done on a Hyundai or Toyota? Just put them on when needed? just like if when I need to put on boots as opposed to sneakers
Charles Leblanc Oh man, I put a lot of effort into the Maverick stance and think it was darn near perfect. I'm playing it safe here with the 285 rear tire but it should look pretty tough!

tommyboy1two HA! Thank you for staying around for the build and being a part of it...I appreciate that a bunch!!!

zippo1965 Thanks so much!!!!
Love your show. I’m building a 72 Mach 1 so I’m hooked on your videos
It's a great car!

It´s awesome that you are Roadkill fan :D
What a fantastic tutorial. I really appreciate it.
hey Jason, nice video, thanks for doing it!. you had an extra view this time, my dog! now pinto has a fan from down under too!
Ursh anabi Hey! That's awesome to hear...belly rubs for everyone!!!

Should have left the boggers on it.
I got my hopes up when I saw the off road tires on that Mustang thought it was going to be open to one of a kind build it did look pretty sweet though with the off road tires

I notice in the other video you went 10mm smaller with tyre width. Did you do that as a precaution or remeasured before actual fitment?
Very good spot.It was the largest size they offered in this particular tire at the time so it's what I was stuck with.
Do you happen to remember what size tires those are on the front? 31x10.5 maybe?
I think the fronts were 33x10.5 and the rears 37 12.5
Mad Max Mustang Mach 1 baby!!
what floor jack n jack stands did use too lift n support the car bro

autoedit thanks man. My dad was saying we should do a TH-cam series. My friends want to do one too. Im gonna get a camcorder and do it.
TheSamplebridge I highly recommend it!

Finally another video, cant wait to see the new wheels on Marge. Any idea who you might be going with for wheels?
Robert Ritchey I could use a little help on that one. I like the old school "mini lite" Trans Am racer style www.team3wheels.com/lt_iii.html
but everything is so expensive that I'm checking with American Racing Wheels this week. What do you think?

What kind of rack & pinion is that?
Great video and information!
How is it going Jason? I am re watching some of these- what is next man!?
Wiring harness and I just got a LED tail light kit from Dakota Digital that I'll try to install soon!
@@AutoEdits Awesome! Love Dakota Digital- best gauge cluster in my opinion-love the build man!
Wide body kit on that would look AWESOMEEE

good video update of the mustang
how close where those swampers from working on the front
Not close enough... no turn radius at all but really had me going for a minute!
rev1hard uip
Does that mean that your measurements would work for any '73 Mustang?
Zeb Parsons #66 For the front, absolutely.

I for one would actually like to see how to lift and put on dirt tires on a 2014 mustang
I gotta say, the boggers gave it a battle car look.like no other..
Very well explained!
LOL i'm going see Mike and Dav tomorrow at the Power Tour.
is that a Catahoula?
That's a great guess! Our friends have one and they are so great. I found Pinto the Dog as a tiny stray puppy in Palmdale CA and she's so ugly we just call her Frankenstein dog cause it looks like she was put together with spare parts from other dogs.
Funny. I'm from Louisiana and we have a Catahula

Yes, off with those boggers! I almost didn't click the video.
AWE I really wanted to see ya drive around on 37's
It did look pretty awesome on those things but I've committed to road car on this one!
Thank you for the video!!!!! GOD bless and keep you and JESUS loves you!!!!!
so where is your pitbull at
Randall Wyatt She died a few months ago and it was a total bummer. We miss that dumb dog so much.
damn i'am sorry for your loss. it sucks losing loved ones.

How will it compare to the stance of the Maverick? th-cam.com/video/WnIa-Wz_wxA/w-d-xo.html
Charles Leblanc Oh man, I put a lot of effort into the Maverick stance and think it was darn near perfect. I'm playing it safe here with the 285 rear tire but it should look pretty tough!
Super swampers looked waaaay better dude
also why not go brembo bro
More people should put boggers on these.
+Fat Mike It did look pretty rad!
There is no wilwood only poomlim
No!
Bad Jason!

Those are boggers
