Stroke Arm Exercise: How to raise the arm

  • Relearning how to raise the arm is not only about strengthening the shoulder. It is critical to also strengthen the muscles that move the shoulder blade (scapula). Once you strengthen these muscles (that move the scapula), you will have the critical missing link to make relearning how to raise the arm much easier.

Thank you so much for help. I've been practicing with a lot of physical therapists so far, but your video explanation series is the best I've seen so far. i had most of the problems you described. I handled walking quite well, but I was struggling with my arm, I was stretching my shoulder hoops, but I couldn't lift my hand.
the extension of the forearm is difficult for me and the control of the extensors of the fingers is very difficult. Handshake goes a lot better. you had something on the subject, but please explain in more detail. Thank you very much. Best regards

I don't teach anything that I would consider a "skilled intervention". These are home exercises. That means they are things that patients do at home, on their own and do not need to pay a physical therapist to do. But anyway, thanks again for the feedback. I will keep this in mind
