They say when getting a nice creature if you get lucky and get a tame that you would want to breed. Even though they are low level they put all points into one stat. So IF you are lucky a second time you get the stats in something worth breeding!
The dinos from raptor Claus are low lvl, but all stat points are dumped into a single stat so they are great for breeding. You could get a lvl 50 rex with 49 points into melee
My vote is open up the cryo pods and get rid of the sickness timer. You guys already put alot into videos, I am all for you guys saving the time. Great video again, loving the ASA content!
For cryos, I say just go for it. That's just some extra step which isn't needed. Like getting dinos to the boss arenas is gonna be the pain when you have to walk them all to the obelisk unless you make extra step where you take cryofridge, power it, wait 5min and throw them out and then again pick them up. That really isn't needed so if you boys are fine w this, just allow cryos without cryofridge.
I would say the same thing for the Tek cave. Forcing the player to have to individually drive every dino through the Tek cave because the pathing is so poorly implemented means there is plenty of justification for allowing the use of cryopods in the Tek cave.
The dinos u can get are nuts, I got a high melee thyla, friend of mine got a guga with 45 in melee and an otter. This new version of the event is insane.

Krampus is part of german folklore where if you where naughty he would come instead of Saint Nicklas. So honestly we luck out with the lore of only getting coal vs Krampus coming to town lol. The reason it is popping up more is the media is slowly looking at different cultures lores :D

The best thing about cryo pods is that it lets you bring your creatures with you and get them out when you need them. Especially considering that you can just set up a fridge somewhere else and then do it anyway, after you play with yourself for a few minutes waiting for the cool down, I just do not see the point in having a restriction. If you are going to restrict yourself like that then you may as well just not even have them. It seems kind of dumb to be honest. Just get rid of the restriction. It is not like you don't have cryo sickness to deal with to keep you from abusing it.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Naughty/Nice meter operates on the experience yield of the creature. When it comes to the Cryopod question, I'd say just go with whatever. Admittedly the limitation is a cool way of incentivizing players building more bases around the map in PvE scenarios (more so non-public ones, seeing as public PvE does have some degree of competition with base locations).

Krampus, especially the depiction of him as a goat-like demon of sorts, isn't new, it's actually a pretty old legend (and honestly outdated, like, the Krampus I grew up with was just a rough, bearded guy, like a dirtier second Santa, with a bag and a bunch of sticks who'd beat up naughty kids instead of giving them coal, he was never depicted as being evil when I was a kid, he just had the job to set you straight if you were bad, he was mean at most but not evil), the movie just kinda resurfaced the really old legend where he was a goat-like demon that actually stole bad children away rather than just stuffing them in his bag to beat them with his sticks
Happy holidays Kramptac, do you use DLSS or frame gen to get such a smooth framrate? Or do you have all that stuff off? I have a 4080 and I always crash with frame gen on.
I got a 4070ti and frame gen always caused crashes for me. 1440p Epic settings is still a little rough depending on what I'm doing but I get close to 60 FPS majority of the time.
@@AaHo0102 yeah I’m on 1440p epic as well. Frame gen is buttery smooth but either causes horrible lighting glitches around the 15-20 min mark or it just crashes. You literally need a 4090 to be able to enjoy this game. So annoying
How do you have it so that your pelagornis can kill the unclaimed babies, on my server I just can’t do that and I don’t know how to enable it where I can kill/ farm the unclaimed babies?
Personally, I wouldn't mind if you remove the need for the cryofridge, but use like an honor system to not do anything too cheesy. I was saying before how I was hoping cryopods wouldn't be useable in caves. That really I think is the point of the restrictions, other than PvP shenanigans. The cave entrances are the size they are for a reason. So if you're not like throwing out a megatherium in the swamp cave, I think it's fine. Also after you've done the caves 'legit' and then want to screw around with stuff that wouldn't normally fit to make a video, I also think that's fine. But like, I was doing the snow cave the other day, and it's pretty damn hard. It would be super lame to bypass the difficulty by like dropping out a rex army and then picking them up for every choke point. Of course it's your server and your channel and you can do whatever you want, just my two cents.
In ASE, you could walk a rex through pretty much all of the snow cave apart from one area where you'd have to pick it up. I don't think you could get a rex army through though. A similar rule would be good. He did the cave run in his island 100 days.

The cryofridge restrictions could make for some interesting videos. That may not be the content you want if you are used to ASE and want to stay with that style of post-Extinction poke-dino game. With the limit you have to move platform saddle creatures and build infrastructure. For instance, taming a Titanosaur to drag creatures across the map in style. Deploying the Taming Paracertherium. Keeping cryos on the back of a Mosa or Plesi. While it isn't as sexy as an Argent, scouting with a high-level Quetzal for tames to vacuum up is a vaild strategy. Also, Quetz now fly faster than Argentavis, just with less stamina.)
Carno Island is great for farming super nice, creatures respawn so quick if you circle around the island with a good fighting dino and there is a good chance that an alpha will spawn....
this summer's event namely "Winter Wonderland" is kinda OP, I just now realised the Megalosaurus I got is unobtainable any other way, pretty cool! I wonder what else can we get from Raptor Claus that isn't supposed to be in the game yet, lol Awesome

I think defo remove the restriction on the cryo pods. It would be interesting to see you tame a quetz and see what your build on its platform would be like. But at the same time would be cool to see what base builds and gear you make when your free to pop your gatherers and dinos anywhere in the map rather than chained to a cryo fridge.
i havent watched much of ark sruvival acsended since its launch. Have the perfomance updates helped massively with the games performance. I last played on its release and frames were terrible. has it improved a lot since??
So for those that dont know the Raptor caluse present of Dino, gives you a 50 iosh lvl dino, where ALL the stats are dumped into one stat. A freind of mine was able to get a lvl 50 Carcha with full melee investment. They make for great breeding dinos.
I think the new cryopod restrictions are pointless. They should have simply made a transmitter available at a lower level that simply uploads the Dino’s for server cleanup.

i was out trying to get on raptor clause's nice list last night when i ran into 2 abominable Snowmen at the same time, and got my giga killed, those things hit like a freight train. it was also a realatively weak giga, it was only lvl 45 before I tamed it.
I feel the restrictions put on the cryopods was only for the PvP aspect on official. Thus why they have actively given the options to non official servers and single player.
Regarding Cryopods, just lift the restrictions, man. All in all it is like you said, you're TH-camrs. You're trying to make great content for us and I'm sure most will agree with me that whatever you feel will help make the videos better will be the right call. If the cryo restrictions are gonna be a pain, just lift the restrictions so you get an easier time putting together the videos. I can't imagine it matters that much to the average viewer anyways, go with your gut on this.

If we want to watch vanilla, there are other TH-camrs. We are here for Syntac’s adventures and those are better with less limits.

You don't think that he records, cuts, and posts these the same day right? He records hours worth makes multiple videos from the play time (or his editor does). That said I was asking if he had a set schedule as these videos can be uploaded and set to "release" on a specific schedule.

i was out trying to get on raptor clause's nice list last night when i ran into 2 abominable Snowmen at the same time, and got my giga killed, those things hit like a freight train. it was also a realatively weak giga, it was only lvl 45 before I tamed it.
Taking a megatherium into the redwoods cave basically gets you to Very Nice Immediatly. So many bugs

I feel the restrictions put on the cryopods was only for the PvP aspect on official. Thus why they have actively given the options to non official servers and single player.
I think you should keep the “idea” of the restrictions. No cryos in caves etc. but in regards to just moving Dino’s around easier go for doing that!!
Regarding Cryopods, just lift the restrictions, man. All in all it is like you said, you're TH-camrs. You're trying to make great content for us and I'm sure most will agree with me that whatever you feel will help make the videos better will be the right call. If the cryo restrictions are gonna be a pain, just lift the restrictions so you get an easier time putting together the videos. I can't imagine it matters that much to the average viewer anyways, go with your gut on this.
