They need to trade for a run stuffing DT like D.J. Jones. If Greenlaw can't get back until December, the Niners need to replace Campbell with a better LB. If the Niners don't beat the Cowboys they should turn into sellers instead of buyers.
I agree with you the d-line is the biggest need. I’ve been watching Leonard Floyd very closely in the All-22 and he looks about done to me. He’s easily stoned at the los in one on one pass pro. Really disappointing and they need to spell him there - he’s playing too many snaps. They’re are some interesting options out there, possibly in Cleveland.
Evan Anderson is a beast 💪 waiting to happen, but a DL addition would be welcome. Center is #1 priority. (Especially if Brock is still handcuffed with audibles.)
Curious if you know why they don’t bring in Matt Breida? He looked good in preseason and knows the offense. Also, Okawanyu (sp?) has flashed at DE, would like to see more snaps for him. Is Feliciano ready to play at center? Definitely agree that they need DT help. Also LB play is subpar without Greenlaw.
@@mattmaiocconfl Matt with all due respect we know your an extension of the team. Kyle Shanahan runs the team it's confirmed 👍 So all the botched picks he's made the refusal to scout Mahommes cause he did not fit his system, Not giving Deebo a touch in the 4th Qtr against in the Rams NFC championship - not being awake on the first drive against the Eagles and calling timeout to review when Devonte dropped the ball and the Eagles rushed to the line- Not giving McCaffrey a touch till the 3rd drive in the 3rd quarter? Your correct that's my fault. Brock is a decent QB who should not have been drafted with the last pick but he's not good enough if you wanna win a Superbowl. Grant and The great Lowell speak glowingly of you but come on... Shannhan did not even know the OT Rules👍
Hi Matt, what about a trade fora Landry? He’s a great player, he’s only 28 and can has a contract for other 3 season. So it can be a piece for now and the future
I think the whole idea is that they are going to add Christian McCaffrey to the roster in the middle of the season - just as they did a couple years ago.
Teams rise and fall based on their most-recent outcome. With a win, they'll be rising; with a loss, they'll be declining. And then we do it all over again after their next game.
If Niners lose this game, we should start selling players at the deadline and develop players next season. Let CMC and Greenlaw seat for the season. Too many old players that get injured. Trent Williams finessed the Niners bad. Don’t pay Purdy until after year 4 please! I still believe in Kyle and Lynch to revamp a new roster for the future.
Maybe gamble on a young DE, and bring up a practice team player? They need fresh legs, not an older big name (Floyd & Young) who's great experience is lost because they no longer have the necessary quickness.
@@mattmaiocconfl Evan Anderson is a BIG man. He's gonna take alot of space, and maybe be a fine contributor, and perhaps even a star down the road. There is a very big positive spin on all the rookies who are taking snaps; they bring young legs, and all of them are doing a heck of the job. The more snaps they get... I like what I see. So instead of bringing in some "name" DL guy-it's time to rely on their younger players. We'll see. This could be huge down the road.
Why talk about future. If Kyle doesn’t go out and get help for team and doesn’t make the playoffs. Then what is the future for him with the team. I thought this was the las ride. That offense is awful
I don't know if "awful" is the best description for the 49ers' offense. They rank third in the NFL with 404 yards of total offense per game. Too many turnovers, yes. Not enough red-zone scoring, yes. But awful? Probably not.
@mattmaiocconfl respectfully stats some times doesn't tell the story. The name of the game is to get in the endzone. Not just March up and down the field to kick a fg or penalties that march them backwards. That's what we fans are aggravated watching. The offense struggled to get 1st downs against the Chiefs. That doesn't help the defense if they are on the field all day
Didn't the Patriots just give him a $22M signing bonus? And with Drake Maye, why would they give away an offensive tackle they just secured with a contract through 2026 season?
@@mattmaiocconfl bummer, thank you very much for that info and specially for taking the time to reply! I think RT is an issue since Reddick injured 2 QBs in the same game, specially now that receivers are not generating the needed separation

I think they need help on base downs and, especially, in nickel situations to get off the field.
@@mattmaiocconfl You are absolutely right about that.

I really hope next year's draft focuses on the defense. Specifically a DT and a LB and maybe we draft a center for the future

Matt Brieda had 29 yards rushing on 15 Carrie’s in the preseason. They think the four other RBs they kept have more to offer.

Cost it would take to trade for him and cost it would take to keep him.
They just promoted DT Evan Anderson. Kalia Davis is a force. Elliott is solid as is Collins Doubt they'd go after Jones.
Is Hufanga going to be available after the Bye with his wrist injury?
They wanted Chase Young to do Bosa job, Chase got a sack in the Suoer Bowl
Lazy waste of money
We need Jeff Wilson Jrr back. He has great hands out of the backfield & runs angry every down. Sam O & Evan Anderson are solid.

When the Niners beat Dallas, will they still be "in decline"? If they don't make the playoffs then that talk would have some legitimacy.
