Hitting the side of the offensive players helmet in one of the throws was not in "Shanny's" script. If this was Purdy's first game, no one would be surprised. He played like a 3rd string QB. And, he's been doing that fairly often this season. I will remain a Purdy fan so long as he's in the NFL. But, damn, he and the team as a whole sucked.
I don't hear any media personnel discussing the psycho/emotional toll it plays on players losing to the same team/coach/QB in 2 SBs. This team LOOKS burdened. The look fatigued. They look drained. There's no fire. This team looks in every way like a team that's hit about 5 icebergs.
9ers got taught the lesson they needed. They've been complacent from Lynch & Shanahan down. You cant just put this down to a bad day. Jed York needs to put pressure on, because this WILL happen again without major changes.

Matt, it did look bad this past Sunday and if that was the only time, sure, don't panic. But they did this against a depleted Rams team, a terrible AZ team, a Vikings team that is improved but has friggin Sam Darnold at QB and they almost gave it up to a terrible Seattle team. Not a good team.
Matt, we were at the game against chiefs. Can you bring this up the coaches reg covering their lips when they are talking on the mic or to the players. Sorensen was talking to one of the defensive team while waiting for a time out and it was on the screen at the game. Lip readings are used all the time. Be extra careful.
Hey Matt, here's my own overreactions: 1) Brock Purdy is not good in the 4th quarter. Aside from the Lions game, there have been too many games (even some wins) where Purdy was not good in the 4th quarter, whether it's coming from behind or closing a game out. At this point, I don't have faith in Purdy in 4th quarters of close games, and I'm a Purdy fan. 2) The Niners' struggles on 3rd-and-1 is a direct reflection of their unwillingness to invest premium resources in the O-line. Can't play smash mouth with UDFAs and late draft picks who likely have physical limitations (namely Brendel). To borrow from Mike Singletary, they need to be more physical with an F. 3) Offense, defense, special teams...this year is the worst coaching in all 3 phases in the Shanahan era.
Frustrating thing is Purdy can sail it enough to get in the red zone but then they continue to try and run it and fail! As much as I ADORE Purdy the red zone is his Kryptonite and that’s AWFUL for a quarterback 🤦🏽♀️

@samuelproeung3748 Kyle's offense is not that hard to figure out. Put DT on Trent to set the edge outside, and LB will clean up Mason. Aggressive man to man all game and Niners WR will fold by 3rd QR. Make Purdy to throw over the CB. Should have a few easy INTs on high throws. Purdy has only one option for Kittle. We need real genius HC, not a fake.
The dynamic is Brock cant carry Kyle every game and bail him out. Kyle is a Fraud and puts Brock in a bad spot and problems are bound to happen. Kyle should be fired. Feel bad for these guys when he sabotages the big games.

I say run the ball more and mix up the attacks to the YAC format again, just mix it up, but not commit to it solely. Hi Matty, to me KC lives in Brock’s head rent free. His challenge is to have a mindset as if he’s playing New England, how he thinks & feels then transfer it to KC. He’s the leader & the rest will follow. He seems to get nervous, trying to do too much & makes mistakes. What do you think?

You can see it. you can feel the burden these players are carrying. *They KNOW they will go down in NFL history as one of the greatest core groups of players to have never won a Super Bowl* They know it. They know that even if they make the SB (which they aren't this year and never were) they were going to face KC who they know they can't beat. This team is sinking under their own psychological burden.

They do seem to have lost that chip on their shoulder this year and I believe if we don’t see them get it back for Dallas that will tell us how the rest of the season is gonna go. This loss def seemed to hit different for Fred, Kittle and Bosa. They are not the same at the podium. As Fred said though, they have to find that shift in the building, all of us out here wringing hands and talking about how bad they are better not play into it. I just prefer to have open eyed awareness as a fan not panic and that’s what I think Matt gives.
For a fan base that pays some of the highest prices in the NFL, the product stinks. It fits a pattern though. Seems pretty consistent that Shanny’s teams start slow, but this year the stink isn’t wearing off.

There's no player going to fix what is a psychological issue. In fact what they need to do is start trading AWAY players. This core group that has now lost to KC every time they've played them know they can't beat KC. They know it.

The season is still young and they can hopefully improve and get better by the end of the year there playing there best football. If they continue to play how they did last Sunday then definitely there not going to win anything. I don't think trading away our players is a good idea. I do think trading for a piece or two would help the team. We do have Greenlaw and CMC coming back from IR soon. We also had Deebo and Jennings out. So let's see if we add a piece or two and then get back our players back and see if they can improve before giving up. We were 3-5 and went to NFC Championship. So we just need to get that swagger back and start improving.

In the 90's they couldn't get over the hump and beat the Cowboys. They kept their core of vets from the Super Bowl run, (Young, Rice, Taylor, Jones, Sapolu, Barton), but needed an influx of Free Agents and Youth: Watters, Floyd, Ed McCaffery, Stubblefield, Bryant Young, Gary Plummer, Rickey Jackson, Kevin Greene, Lee Woodall, Tim McDonald and Deion Sanders. Not all acquired at once, but the principle is the same. The salary cap era prevents too much change all at once, and so far in the defense we've seen the youth movement improve things: Okuayinonu, Winters, Green and Mustapha have provided a spark of energy, and the defense was the better unit despite the score. Jennings and Deebo being out and Aiyuk going down forced the young guys to get in the game and they've had a spark as well. I'm not sure what Free Agent puts them in a position to win right now. I do think it's time to part ways with some players, and typically that's players showing the effects of wear and tear. That would be Deebo, Juice and Trent. Trading them during the season doesn't make this team suddenly a better contender. Certainly after the season that should be a consideration.

Singling Brock out in the locker room while the press is in there wasn't a mistake by Kyle. It was bush league, but it wasn't a mistake. Why didn't Kyle go call out Trent for getting ejected in front of the media? Why didn't he call out Deebo for being "sick" in front of the media? To all the Purdy haters, lol Purdy will get 50-60M/year next year regardless how this season ends. Even Dak got paid and he's a much lesser QB. QB is the most important position in the NFL and affects the outcome of winning or losing in the NFL the most, Mahomes played bad too and was 0 td and 2 int but he still made enough plays to help his team win though he really didnt have a true #1 WR yesterday. Singling Brock out in the locker room while the press is in there wasn't a mistake by Kyle. It was bush league, but it wasn't a mistake. Why didn't Kyle go call out Trent for getting ejected in front of the media? Why didn't he call out Deebo for being "sick" in front of the media? They should win this week because Dallas is terrible, but if they lose KS has to be fired at the end of the game.

Purdy is forced to try and play hero ball because the 49ers have no run game with CMC out and Mason having a separated shoulder. Purdy is missing 4 of his 5 top weapons. So yesterday he played with Pearsall who did not even play in the pre-season. And three other receivers who have no real playing time under their belts. And a crappy offensive line that got beat up by a good Chiefs defense. Purdy will put the blame on himself no matter his teammates do. He is not going to say they blew a route and throw them under the bus. He got hit as he threw for one of those interceptions. Anyone blaming Purdy makes them sound like another idiot who does not know football. The Chiefs beat what was left of the 49ers. Half the team is out injured.

Scanrangelo costed Flaco they were THRASHnahan offensive coordinators. Beathard, Mullens, Garapollo, Trey Lance were all WRECKED in San Francisco . Well, I don't need to say something that has been already said before many times. Kyle Shanahan NEEDS to be FIRED! And the Purdy is a very average QB. The defense is awful!!! And the 49ers were out classed in every phase of the game. The players are reporting the slightest injury as staying out of the game because they don't want to play for Kyle Shanahan! He has loss the locker room of the 49ers.
