WOW! that is just fenomenal. there are some sounds that go right deep into my heart; the harmonica, the accordion and the banjo. I don't know what it is, but whenever I hear any of those sounds I have to stop and listen to them. It often brings tears to my eyes, I don't know why. does anybody out there get the same feelings?
I just found out not ten minutes ago, that one of my dearest, and oldest, childhood friends just told me that her father learned to play a harmonica when he was nine years old. I have known Val for 57 years, I just told her to check out Buddy Greene doing the William Tell Overture. Fabulous! Love you Val!
William Tell. On a freakin' Harmonica. I swear you could almost hear more than one instrument, it's like a mini orchestra in a tiny silver device. Amazing.
I wish people around the world would shut and and keep quiet when somebody else plays an instrument. Just because you recognise a tune doesn't mean you should let everyone in the room know
Buddy bends, but he doesn't do overblows which you would need to do to play completly chromatic. But I think he uses country tuned harps at times, which slightly raises the 7 hole draw I believe,to almost give you the full chromatic scale, but not quite.
well, I don't know the song name myself, but watch the 40 year old virgin's credits at the end to find out the name of the song. They are required to display it.
Awesome performance! Who would've thought a harmonica could be played in front of a whole audience, much less a packed house at Carnegie Hall? Harmonicas do get a bad reputation, undeserved. I believe that they can be played anywhere. With a band or by itself. Whatever genre calls for one.
I didn't know you could get a such a big sound from such a small harmonica. I thought you would need a foot long or so harmonica to get a big sound, but it seems I am proven wrong.
