Jia has a sad story. Poor woman was gonna married a prince from her kingdom but couldn't do so bc of the royal decree. She plotted her way up in the harem to make her prince proud but it backfired. Majority of the consorts and concubines were molded to become sociopaths due to the politics and jealousy. In this series, the emperor is a wimp who wants to marry anyone who's beautiful and he keeps putting Ruyi on the backburner. It makes sense why in a separate series that is not related to Ruyi's Royal Love in the Palace, Yanxi's palace, they made Ruyi cold and conniving bc of all the BS the emperor put her through.
As someone that watched Yanxi Palace I didn’t get the feeling Ruyi was evil. She never intentionally hurt an innocent person. She was bullied and lived in terror because of the other consorts, name Gao, and blamed the empress for neglect of her duty to reign them in. She did dispose of other concubines and consorts, but it is comparable to Wei Yinglou in that she saw them as her enemy. She never hurt the children and was a loving mother. Towards the end she just breaks down because she’s so sick and tired of being used. That’s my intention I got of it and low key I’d go mad too dealing with all this BS.
@@LittleClarinetPlayer i dont think Consort Xian in Story of Yamxi palace is a villain... Yes, she hurt others but at the same time she revenge. Just like what Wei Yingluo did. Consort Chun betray the empress sooner or later even if Consort Xian didnt take step to do so. As empress gave birth to 7th prince, she already look jealous amd unhappy. And yes, i think empress didnt do a good job handling the palace. If she did, Consort Gao wouldnt be so arrogant. Yes,she did it for Emperor love but if she handle it properlg, she wouldnt gef harmed thag easy. She dont even notice how others got bullied like Consort Xian. But omce Consort Xian become empress, everyone scared of her even the cunning and wicked Consort Chun and Wei Yingluo. As you can see, everytime the late empress being used and got framed, others would suspicious of her but look at Consort Xian when she gave the farmers food scene, she has that brain Unlike late empress who keep everything simple but dont think for long terms.. She said she more careful but actually she did not. If (i mean if) Yingluo doesnt at her side, she would have been framed and been replace or dont get a single bit of emperor love. Emperor loves her thats why she got attention but she never try and just call herself as empress of the kingdom. She weak, and maybe so does her sons but we cant blame her for that as human has its own nature. Unlike Consort Xian, she teaches her child to not cry. It was because she dont want them to be look down on. Consort Xian plan everything she could to get her revenge and i agree she should have. She can also be said as help and assist Yingluo to get her revenge. She only want emperor love but later the emperor never care at her once she confess her love to him. She did try her best. The emperor loves other consort than empress, who wouldnt hurt?
And let's add that her own home clan labeled her a "bastard of unknown origin." Like, damn...
So is this concubine Jia, Yanxi’s consort Gao? Or is it someone else? There are different side characters in both dramas. But consort Xian’s character in both is tragic. I felt pity for her in Yanxi palace but cried for her in this one. In both dramas, she was forced to push back on those that abused, bullied or threatened her.
Consort Jia was right. Once a woman becomes empress, she becomes the main enemy of the harem.
如懿不是黑化，她已经是这后宫里难得的纯净了。金玉妍被王爷和母国利用后抛弃也是惨死，小说里的未删减台词更为露骨和疯狂

She's a Korean noble. The Joseon King is the man of her dreams. After being disgraced, Yuyan was abandoned by the king like a used rag (because he didn't want to be dragged down with her). Anyway, the point is that the king was just using Yuyan all along for the advancement of his kingdom. When it came to the crunch, he cared nothing for her.
