Definitely and she one of the few that knows how to show emotion with their expressions or eyes. And she nailed it with her eyes that shows what she feeling.

They could have given her Ruyi's old room, at least it would have been clean. Jai made a very big misjudgment in going after Hailan. She thought she was weak and an easy target, all she did was awaken Hailan's inner fighting spirit which, Jai will learn to regret.
Actually, Halian forced the servants of the palace to leave Ruyi's old room alone. At most they dust and tidy it to keep it neat but previously in the series Halian states she's left everything as Ruyi left it, untouched. Ruyi makes an idle joke about it and Halian states that if she doesn't wish to return or take any of her old things she can leave the room as is- a preservation of a memory. Ruyi accepts this and the servants leave it alone and basically only dust and sweep and mop to keep it from being too dirty.
Hailan swore. She keep it. And everyone pays. Her revenge are so low that no one even notice it. No one. Except Ruyi. Even the most unforgivable revenge of Hailan didn't get her in trouble. No one suspected her, only Ruyi. From a timid and weak member of harem. Become one of the most powerful.

I saw another comment that stated Ruyi ripped Auros fingernails off in the book. I wish the book would be translated because I would like to read it, usually the books are better then the movies/series.
I think there was a hint to the punishment Ruyi gave in the original book. If you look at the shot of Aruo in the cold palace, her skin is all bloody. I think maybe filming the cat scratching punishment and putting it in the episode would not have been allowed by the film censorship board.
Ruyi might have been more harsh in the book, but compare to what A'Rou caused Ruyi to go through and also had a large hand in them almost losing their lives. I would say she wasn't "harsh" enough.

Ruyi, to punish A'Rou and to make an example for the servants to "Scare them straight" so to speak, had her long nails pulled out, she was then tied into a sack with several of the palace cats in it and the sack was beaten so A'rou was clawed up. After that she was shoved into the Cold Palace where she was taunted and tormented by the other women who were there. The ending to her story is pretty much the same as here- she takes her own life.

Also, Rongpei has that sibling master-servant relationship, cause their close in age too, that Rongpei is willing to put her life on the line for Ruyi, which is the only two servants that is willing to do anything for Ruyi. Along with Sanbao also, even though he’s a Eunch, but is always loyal too.

Ruyi's actress is really good. She's suttle and doesn't over act. Makes each scene believable
