Then again, she was her mother's only remaining child by the time Xiaoxianchun died. it's only natural to assume that to some extent, Hejing would be incredibly spoiled. Additionally, I think that, by the end of the series, she sees that Ruyi is a genuine woman.
This show has me wondering was it actually filmed in the forbidden City in China if so they must have had to do a ton of paperwork for this to be allowed and a ton of research on the time period and costumes

This whole ceremonial procession is absolutely fantastic! From the costumes to the scene close up shots and the wide scenes is top notch.
