    I think Marcus should be the only one with permadeath. It'll be more interesting if you can't simply make him mindlessly destroy the opposing army.

      Without Marcus, Mekkah is kinda screwed though. I'm not sure that would make sense, the only reason he has any chance in these level is because Markus is so blatantly op compared to everyone else.

    I am thoroughly enjoying this considering how amazing a human is compared to an A.I.. In ways that a human can think in advance about what strategies would be necessary and can needlessly sacrifice nameless units. Just in the off chance that the human can secure an important kill.

      also he can actively break the game by doing staff the AI wasn't programmed to do. I would love to see the same format with any game with skills, that would be so unfair to the player it would probably hurt to watch. And i would LOVE it

      @@profchaos91 I shudder thinking about Lunatic+ Awakening having a Human A.I..That would be borderline impossible to even beat. It would be interesting to see Three Houses have this sort of Mod though. Especially during the conflicts in which all Three Lords are in the mix. Or Thracia 776 so that the morale mechanic would be utilized with a smarter A.I.. It would be an interesting and fundamentally fun component to the future of Fire Emblem mods.

    PSA for SpeedyHawk, if you're rescuing someone and the person that's doing the rescuing initiates combat and dies, the person in the back gets a free turn. You could for example have a pegasus suicide into someone then the big dick boss in the rescue can get an extra turn immediately and kill eliwood or some shit

    Just helpful tip for anyone of Mekkah's friends that will see this video and check the comment sections. If you are going to participate in this don't forget boss deaths mean it stops your side's reinforcements. This time it didn't matter cause Speedy got all the reinforcements, but in the future this could be helpful as to not suicide your boss too early. Also this will definitely get hellish Dread Island onwards especially the Pent chapter and Zephiel one since you have to protect a unit that's not near your army at the start.
    This is for Mekkah if you do the Fargus map you should probably clarify that they can't use Fargus to attack, but can move him otherwise they'll game over you instantly by initiating combat.

      @@ladyriethegoldendelmo5441 Uh I don't think you can be part of these video series Mekkah is making, but from the description he says he is working on a tutorial video on how to set this up, so you can try it with your friends. I tried figuring it out without a proper tutorial, but couldn't figure out the mechanics to setting this up completely as this needs to also have online capabilities like the Link Arena videos as Mekkah's cohosts don't live near him to my knowledge. The best I could find is ways to have it so I can control the enemy units on my computer. Anyway if you want to try this with your friends I would suggest waiting for Mekkah's tutorial, and if you don't have anyone to play with Mekkah has a discord as well as there are a ton of different Fire Emblem discords.

    I think this series is really going to take off once permadeath and other consequences start sticking.
    Right now, there's this limitation where the red player either plays to the chapter wincon or may as well just do nothing. Killing Batre or Rebecca doesn't mean anything beyond how that contributes to killing Eliwood or Hector in this chapter. Once the chapters stop being replayed, the ability to kill off units, decide which player units get kills, burn durability on crucial weapons, and deny other resources is going to make things way, way more interesting.

      Yeah, it felt like he couldn't do anything this chapter. Red burns all his units for the unkillable Marcus? Gets seized, but if he's not ganged up on he can't really be killed. Took forever

      @@bringanotebook28 permadeath would make this impossible, because red is nothing valuable. Red loses nothing when a unit dies. You can just suicide spam units into the horde and win via attrition.

    I once heard a really interesting observation about fe 7's steel lance pegasus knights. The steel lance pegasus knights are threatening because of their terrible attack speed and defensive stats. The steel lance gives them decent attack power, their decent skill gives them good hit rates (as far as fe7 enemies go) and they die to almost anything on retaliation. This makes it so a formation of steel lance pegasus knights can really gang up on one unit and bring them down, even if their target can only be attacked from one spot.

    Don’t do any permadeath or you will lose so quickly, your opponents being real people will dominate you if you start losing your units quickly

    For real though the RNG was *not* on the enemy team favour this map. Not only the crits from Guy, but also they missed high chances, got hit by a bunch of 50% that mattered and stuff like that non stop. This series is being pretty cool tho!

    How bout a rule is in later maps you don't have Perma death but when you replay said level you can't train that unit so if they gain exp and level up but die they aren't allowed to grind on the reply (though you can train other units in your barracks)
    And it's just for that level you can train them next level if they survive

    Suggestion: You have to recruit a character during one of these battles if you want to recruit him in the non-pvp mission. But the enemy can't suicide the recruitable character unless it's a legitimate win-or-lose scenario. Like doing the killing blow on a lord with the recruitable character

      How will that chapter even work? IIRC, the objective is usually to talk to Fargus, and attacking him results in a player loss.

      @@RandInternet They'd probably have to set a rule against using Fargus. Since if Fargus attacks someone instead of the other way around, that may cause the same forced game over scenario.
      Though it probably wouldn't be hard to modify the game so a player unit standing on a tile adjacent to Fargus's starting position is the win condition, as opposed to talking to him...

      If we wanted to get crazy I could probably take a look at it when I start messing with Fire Emblem like I've been doing lately, I can probably make it so Fargus will try and get to a specific tile and YOU have to try and stop him, but that would probably be too difficult to defend 🤣

    Something you could do if it ends up being too one sided in terms of clearing maps is maybe make it a point system where killing units and maybe some other objectives give points and you get a certain amount for clearing the map. That way even in situations where game overing is no longer possible the person controlling the enemies could have something to consider other that just throwing guys at the lord and hoping it works.

    Might I reccomend a turn clock or timer formula like in chess?
    Would force more bold/on the spot moves and save you both some trouble.
    Something like each unit gives you 8 seconds or something.

    Honestly I feel like the strat for this would’ve been to mob Elliwood once marcus and hector moved away from him and keep guy a little bit back to prevent marcus from safely rescuing hector to the throne. Oswin can only block so much.

      @@tasintajwar2034 Yes but Boies is very bulky and plus Speedy had the Pegasus Knights to provide support. Boies wasn’t useful against fort-stationed Hector with Wolf Beil, and his accuracy was also shit against hand axe-wielding, forest-positioned Marcus. If Boies had been sent north, Mekkah would’ve probably rescued Eliwood with Oswin, and then the goal would’ve been to kill Serra & maybe Rebecca ASAP while keeping Eliwood’s group from getting to Marcus. Boies was useless down south. Of course all of this may not have been necessary if Guy hadn’t gotten unlucky with his crits.

      If boies had gone to north then he had to survive survive lowen,dorcas,1 other axe user n maybe even hector.speedy chose to stall marcus with him which makes. Both meant death for him. If guy n a 4ppl peaple have gone they would do better than boies

      Boies would be better in the north actually. Hector in the fort makes it look like that Mekkkah is the Final Boss there because of terrain advantage.

    Okay so I hack a bit and I figured out how to do some cool things if people would want it.
    I can add in NPC units obviously, but most importantly I figured out how to give NPC units experience like the player!
    I figure there are two ways I can approach this, one being fast while one being slow developmental-wise.
    First SHORT way: Allow the players to choose the units to be deployed as normal, and then on turn 1 make half of the player group turn into NPC units after deployment, giving it a random feel so people don't know which unit they will get to control until turn 1 starts. I can boost enemy growths for a unique challenge at the least. Or other recommendations.
    Second LONG way: Literally add in unique units that are only for the NPC army and the 2nd player can have their own army throughout the game. An example being in FE7 or FE8, have the other team be a roster from one of the other games. So you could have a Team Renais as blue team and a Team Blazing Sword as green team. This would require a decent length of time to do, with balancing and adding in new units etc.
    I can do both, but the the first way would only take a few days/weeks for me to do with no major changes other than making the game "Co-Op"
    The second way sounds like a fairly large project that can go for months.
    If someone or multiple people are interested in me doing this, please let me know. We may even be able to get Mekkah in on it if he wants to play something like that.

    I can't remember, does ch 15 have peg knights? If so then Mekkah might have trouble. They could airdrop in a brigade of enemies directly on top of Lyn's isolated group before you can reach her with Marcus.

      This is Hector mode, so the chapter you're referring to (Noble Lady of Caelin) is chapter 16 (there's a chapter exclusive to Hector mode that happens right before it). The distinction that it's Hector mode is also significant for answering your question: there are no peg knight in ch 15E, but there are three peg knights ch 16H.

    I'm enjoying this so far but the only thing I'm worried is usually the first few maps have a lot of "fodder" red units and the rush with all units might be a strat always.
    If you gave it some thought would imposing a "move limit" (a restriction where if i have 5 units you only move 5 units), perhaps make it less about shoving units as quickly as possible in the face of blue?

    Hey Mekkah to make the pvp more interesting and faster you should add a timer for both of the players (just like in a in a real chess tournament) this will put some pressure on you and can result in funny mistakes, also (this Idea will require some work but can be interesting) if the enemy team win they deserve some reward on the next chapter maybe a stat booster or the boss can be used on the next chapter

      I think the time it took for players to make a move was okay - it's just that the red player has to move like 20 units every turn. For blue, losing Eliwood to a silly mistake would prolly make these into 10 minute videos, so right now I don't feel a need to implement a timer.

    I think the actual play from the bad guy side is to use Guy against Marcus when Marcus and Hector was surrounded, just to force Marcus to not have the Hand Axe equipped. That way he's open for chip damage from the 2 range guys.
