- Fire Emblem Awakening on lunatic+ makes the enemies pretty strong, so I gave them all a 100% chance to crit to make them even stronger. To compensate for this, I also gave all of my units a 100% chance to crit. Making both my units and the enemy units way easier to kill, so I'm going to have to be extra careful to not die. The enemies lunatic+ skills are also going to make this run significantly more interesting, as if they have luna+ there almost certain to kill me in one attack; skills like aegis+ and pavise+ will make it almost impossible for me to one shot them, and since the enemy are dealing much more damage, vantage+ is also going to be pretty strong.

The randomized enemy skills are literally the main reason why I’m not a fan of actually playing Lunatic+ or similar difficulties
it doesnt matter which awakening challenge run it is. it always ends in robin paired with chrom and then go sweep the map
all roads lead back to a robin solo... curious what this would look like for fates since it's a bit harder to solo!

34:10 Fun fact. Valflame is more powerful than Goetia due to being 16 MT and +5 Mag when equipped. You need to beat Canis in Ch23 to get it, and you don't need DarkMage/Sorcerer/Shadowgift to use it.
I always thought that was how that worked, and I always was partial to Valflame because of it. That isn't to say that there are no good dark tomes outside of nosferatu and Aversa's Night (those being the most obvious ones that everyone uses), as you have things like mire to snipe an enemy from up to 10 spaces away, ruin with it's ridiculously high crit rate, and a personal favorite of mine: the attack doubling waste tome (effectively a brave weapon), and even flux is rather strong for an e rank weapon. But knowing that Goetia IS, in fact, less powerful than a weapon it has a higher might than makes it feel a little bit worthless in my eyes
One nice thing about this challenge is that it makes counter less of an issue since it doesn’t activate if the enemy dies. Small consolation in the nightmare lmao
I’d love to see this in fates! Not sure which of the 3 would be the coolest though.
I like how the second half of this run devolved into Vantage+Vengeance critblick like that one L+ C23~24 clears that does this with critforge Ruin but for the entire half of the run and without Ruin b/c guaranteed crit

Wow this is the first time ever that Awakening Lunatic+ looks somewhat fun to me.
I think you should totally do this challenge in echoes. It would be interesting considering the enemy distribution
I'd love to see you try this with FE4 since that game has such unique crit mechanics and you have two earlygames to deal with.

I recently started a low level Awakening run (you can only deploy the lowest level units you can) while trying to use Chrom sparingly and it's so far been one of the best ways to experience Awakening.
Oh heck yeah, that sounds actually interesting, how often do you have to end up conserving staff usage so that Lissa or Mirabelle never end up outside of the party? I figure you'd be spending a lot on Vulneraries early on but it sounds like a legitimately interesting run, might try that myself

do you count reclasses? I figure even getting her to 10 and potentially putting her in war cleric if that's your jam might be useful if it sends them back "down" to 10, I don't think I could manage the run iron man style, id probably end up resetting it if I lost two units in a map

Gambits are okay, but offensive magic is banned!
Only weapons with 20 weight, 0 might, 30 hit and 0 crit are allowed. I don't know if a mod can do this to every weapon without affecting the enemies as well, but i think it would be really funny to see if you could make it work...
i really doubt it's possible as you have a turn limit of 99 at best on every map but if we allow new game + maybe but i'm not sure

I don’t know if this would be any fun, but a challenge I’d thought of was the GBA games but without javelins and handaxes (or other 1-2 range physical weapons) since those are so dominant in those games.

So what kind of mod is this? The UI is nothing like vanilla Awakening , even weapon icons are different. It looks pretty clean just different from any other playthrough of awakening I've seen.

l want to blame Lunatic+ for why newer FE titles don't have that many enemy skills. l absolutely love Engage, but enemies outside of some bosses and the usual Lv5+ adv. class skills (which are mostly poopy) have no skills. Nada, zilch. And it makes for a very tame Maddening playthrough.
But l digress, congrats on the victory! Fun run to watch
