Cheers, I really like how you took a ordinary cube and turned it around an unusual axis and got a unique piece....and the missing knot was genius. It ties back to the origin of the burl but without breaking the sophistication of the shape. Magical piece.

I've recently started watching your channel and am amazed by some of your ideas and concepts. Like what you did with this Maple burl. Which definitely turned out very beautiful. I don't have a lathe yet, but am working towards one. A slow process, but I love watching others do it. I feel I am learning in advance before I get my hands on learning. This must have required so much patience, and the end result is absolutely beautiful. Could be interesting to do something similar with a cube comprised of layers of different woods. Cheers mate :-)

This is such a fascinating shape! I love how it turned out. Question, what is the reasoning behind sanding, adding lemon oil, sanding again, and then using the sanding sealer?
Watching your channel more than anything else has inspired me to reach out to a friend with a lathe and get back to a hobby I used to love. Once all the orders for isolation we are going to work together on relearning old skills and then expanding on them. So Cheers! And thank you.

Cheers, Amy! You're in! I didn't show all the sanding, but I had to let the piece sit overnight after I sanded till about 1:30 AM. Because I had to walk away from the piece I wanted to protect it from cracking. I also think using lemon oil brings out the color more in the wood.
