  • Thanks to all my subscribers and viewers! Because of you all, my channel made it to 1 million views! I can't thank you all enough!
This project is long-overdue, and it is the culmination of months of failure, which seemed to cause endless delay. Thankfully, I'm now older and wiser because of it! After the tenon broke off, I realized I could not complete a proper finish of the inside of the ring without a set of Cole Jaws. I had to wait about 3 weeks for them to arrive, but they did the trick! Let me know what you all think!
I have made other coffee grinders before, and I am always looking for interesting new ways of innovating on that theme. This is the craziest one yet! I hope you enjoyed it. I used the antique style case iron coffee grinder mechanism from Woodriver, made by Woodcraft, on amazon (amzn.to/2uKbaC4) (see other affiliate links below). I have been using one of these mechanisms regularly, and I have little complaints. Yes, the gears are plastic, and that isn't great, but I could not find a reasonably priced grinder with the wheel crank that also had complete cast iron gears. If someone knows where to find those, please let me know!
Check out Starbond. I am really liking their brown CA glue, and it turned out to be indispensable to this project!
I also really like Acks Wood Paste products, and they provided a 10% of discount with code "david10". Be sure to check them out!
If you're new to the channel, please consider subscribing! Also, please like the video and comment, letting me know how I'm doing and what you'd like me to make next. It really helps to promote my videos and channel, and I always love reading and responding!

That was a fantastic job of turning David. And it finished beautifully. Great recovery on the hiccup. That is a skill in itself and can't get any better than you did.
    Stunning grain and turning.

hello David how are you? Every day we watch videos on TH-cam. Always look for your videos and when you don't find new videos, watch or have already watched. For me it's always a learning experience. I'm starting and it's very good to take a rough wood and transform it into an art worked on the lathe. Thanks for your videos.

I’ve never seen hackberry before but it has a lovely colour and grain, however I’m attributing that to the spalting. Spalted wood is actually very beautiful and the grain in this is stunning. What an innovative idea too.
