Oh awesome. Thanks for coming to check it out. DIY wheel building is super satisfying. It's also a really dense subject. The discord is an awesome place to get more information if you have specific questions. A lot of my knowledge has come from the Discord and community Zach has built. I'm hoping this video/series can help boost that.
I'm looking forward to cheking more of your channel! And yeah, I quickly found out how dense this can be, so I already am in the discord! But part of me really loves the headache of trying to find new parts, sources or solutions in all this. Working on my own version of a AMG GT3 wheel currently!
Excited to see the future videos on these subjects! Would also love to see a video on how you modified your Logitech wheelbase to accommodate custom wheels as well
Already have this gorgeous wheel from Zach, using it every day, it's so great, and I had a blast putting it together. I'll be tagging along here, seems like the right place for new inspiration.
Awesome. Thanks for watching and commenting. I've been watching Dave for over a year now. A great source of knowledge and entertainment. I know he loves his Turn Wheel also. Looks like he has a new wooden rig being built.
Super excited for the upcoming videos! I started during the lockdown to deal with this topic. Did not know until just now that there is a proper Discord-Channel about this - thanks for that! Are there also other sources you would recommend to exchange with others? Many greetings from Germany :)
Please continue this to the end. I’m trying to make a prediction quality wheel so I can sell it I’m confident in most of my design skills but need more advise on the grip aspect of the wheels.
Thanks for watching! And big thanks for the sub! Video 2 script on front plates is done. and I've started recording shots. After that need to sit down in front of the cameras and talk (the hard part).
Super intersting to watch. I will build my very first DIY wheel in some time forward. Therefore im trying to get as much informations for where and what to buy for my wheel. Unfortunatly the link for your Discord server is not workling anymore. Is it still available or is it dead already?
Easy Composites has some great carbon fiber tutorials on their YT channel including several on forged carbon fiber parts. Anyone with access to a 3d printer could make a forged carbon plate for this wheel
Awesome video! Im really into 3d Printing and making my own accessories for sim racing and have made several button boxes and mods for logitech gear. Im really trying to do this DIY Wheel as well!
Id love to see your button boxes. I 3d print on a daily basis and have been wanting to make a button box for my rig for 2 years but I never did it yet. (a bit afraid of the arduino bit)
Best bet is the Turn Racing Discord. I've done a bit of testing with a 3d printed mold and a couple materials. It's definitely doable but a lot of work for a 1 off build. Several guys on the Turn Discord have tried and posted their results. I have some pictures up there too if you search for molded/casted grips. They also have a wiki with some info
Do you have any suggestion or reference material on dual bite point clutch custom wheel design? I try to search online but seems like material is quite scarce for circuit design and coding. Probably I look into wrong areas.
hello @ Ballistic Tech , pls i have something more or lees like this wheel you are holding 12 push button 5 rotary encoder . pls how do i code it using arduino mega
You can get PU grips on some of Zach's barebones kits and wheels. Like the TURN 488 CHALLENGE BAREBONES TURN GT BAREBONES TURN R20 EVO SIM & TRACK STEERING WHEEL TURN R20H SIM & TRACK STEERING WHEEL geni.us/ballistic-turn-wheels
Not sure if you've watched the video but the point is to show ppl how they can use the tools and skills they have to do as much as they can themselves. That in combination with buying some components and using services allows ppl to build the wheel they want. Zach makes wheels full time for a living. So yeah he has a lot of tools and equipment. But I show how to do stuff with hand tools, a soldering iron and 3d printer as well.
YEET
Ohhhh dear! Great video 😁
Cheers Dave. Thanks for checking it out. I'm a huge fan of your channel and watch every video. Looking forward to seeing that new rig to teased!

Thanks for watching. Glad you're liking the video
Algorithm finally got it right. Dude, you rock, great videos. Keep up the good work.

Love the content, great tut! Also, really loving the Dave Cam Rep with the shirt! Subscribed!
Just found this video. Bro you should sell wheels like the one you've built. That thing looks incredible with the carbon and black. Nice work man!
This is the content that I crave. First a home, then a 3D printer ;). Subbed.
(I came across your channel on the wowstick review)
Thanks for watching and commenting. Second episode of this series will be up before the end of the week
Just found your channel. This is my jam. I'm building a real wheel for my truck build and one for my sig rig. Good stuff 👏

Excited about part 2!
Thank you for watching Magnus! Hopefully I'm the next 5 days
Love Dave Cams and stoked to follow along, really want to take a shot at building my own.

Ok. I can definite do some content about that. Thanks for watching!

Looking to make custom polyurethane grips. Any insight? Going to print 3D model of Moza GS wheel. Any advice works be great.

@@BallisticTech thanks man I appreciate it. If I get it right, looking to start a side hustle. So hopefully more to come.
Hi , can you tell me how much was the cost for the front plate of the TURN R8 LMS DIY SIM RACING WHEEL ? so i can have a idea please.
Do you have any suggestion or reference material on dual bite point clutch custom wheel design? I try to search online but seems like material is quite scarce for circuit design and coding. Probably I look into wrong areas.

@@BallisticTech that would be great! I need to modify it anyways, but need somethi go to start from, thank you! Great video and new sub from my side!
So I could make the Mercedes’ w11 wheel to use for sim racing?

Hello. And in what program do you do this?

Almost all of the cad files are now freely available on thingiverse/Printables. Enjoy
What PU is used to cast wheel grips? Is the casting PU available to buy somewhere?

I'll see about updating it but you can go to turnracing.com. There's a link on the home page

I want this but for my actual car. Has anyone installed on a real car?
I just got into the DIY scope of wheels and Turn DIY website no longer exists.

Never felt so at ease at purchasing an "overpriced" steering wheel. I'll just pay the $500 to get something working right out of the box

DIY if you have a mini manufacturing plant in your garage... lol wtf even.
