this is egregious even for a first time owner/builder. it's like people don't do even basic research before going hands on. dunning kruger a big problem in america.
@@TRP_Outdoors probably just needs loctite, clean off the screws and dab blue loctite and let it sit 24 hours. Your dot placement is fine, that's the whole purpose of the rail. If it we're a scope it would be a different story. You have more field of view with the dot placed further from your eyes vs right on top of your eye ball your not seeing crap.
yeah two pinch bolts on the bottom isnt enough tension+++ to hold the handguard on there ide try and switch the design to an 4-8 bolt that actually drives into the handguard like most free float handguards
couple things that could be better, but looks like the comments have already covered those. I would say to look out for sales on PSA aluminum lowers, you can get them for $50 or under and they are not the best quality but at least they are metal.
I appreciate and yeah I got plenty of things to work on. I've had these lowers for probably 4 years collecting dust. TH-cam gave me an excuse to do something with them. I do 110% agree an aluminum one would be better.
Never put an optic on the handguard. Always on the upper. And this is one of the reasons lol. Side note.. any rifle doesnt matter how exspensive, you should go over with a fine tooth comb. Make sure all nuts and bolts are tight and everything is lined up and good to go. 🤙🏻
I still have a plastic lower somewhere. I don't use it anymore but it held up for years. It cracked where the buffer tube retainer pin is but still worked. But yeah your gun is good. The hand guard is made to Come off easy. Just tighten the bolts
First thing I do before trying a new AR is to make sure that the handguard is lined up and tight before my first shot. I have seen many handguards come loose. Second thing is to never install an optic in the front rail especially in between the receiver and the barrel rail. I don't have any experience with the AR polymer lowers however, I feel much better using the aluminum lowers. I'm sure that after this experience, you will be fully prepared for your next range trip. Good luck and good shooting!
Rear iron is backwards, always keep your optic on the receiver (unless you have a monolithic upper like an LMT or something else). You ran less than a box of ammo and you're already making judgments on the longevity of the lower? Torque your handguard back to spec. This is a prime example of why cheap doesnt always make it worth it, even just to "try it out". Invest in your gear and it'll take care of you as it should.
Should try to keep optic mount on upper only, hard to maintain zero with hand guard movement especially after what happened. Hope you get her fixed up.
Your flips ups are on backwards. They’re supposed to flip up towards your barrel. Not towards you. Just a heads up. I think your red dot mount is as well. But I’d have to go look. That’s just off memory. Just trying to help brother. No hate
When test firing a brand new firearm, always start with a couple of mags that are only loaded with a single round. Not only is it a failsafe in case it goes full brrrt mode, but your bolt should also lock open on an empty mag and it's best to test that feature as soon as possible. Lastly, if for some reason it does fail catastrophically, at least you're not risking explosion with a full mag.
All good I had the handguard and trigger fall out of my 300blk build on its first range day. I was just too excited to go shoot and didnt torq everything I should have.
This is a troll post, right?? You're just trying to get a reaction out of people, correct? You intentionally put the optic on the handguard and moved the rear BUS up & turned it around backwards just to troll people, correct?
My 7.62x39 ar pistol had gas issues and i didn't want to deal with it so i sent it back to bear creek arsenal and im done with them. Ill shop at psa or delta team tactical for my budget uppers from here on out.

Was it the 20” .300 black barrel that gave it away 😅😂
@@TooManyChoices1I think it was the scope placement 🫠
@@Derrek_V or the backwards rear sight
This is one reason why u never put an optic on the rail. Keep the optic on the reciever.
Noted! Thanks for the advice!

I remember my first AR build.
8k rounds later it's still together.

Good on you man. Build and learn! Best way to do it!!

My favorite thing about those turret covers is how Vortex will keep sending you new ones because you keep losing them.
