A rookie hunter documenting my experience while learning how to hunt and track/find animals. My experience is the last 3 weeks of deer season in 2023 in alabama. Mostly hunting public property with hopes of private in the future. Follow me, grow with me, and help me learn what to do in the woods! Should be fun.

If you actually read the complete instructions on how to assemble and use BEFORE you attempt to use and practice with it at low levels you should have no problems. I am 76 and have been using the Summit climber, along with tree saddles, since my late 30's and never had a mishap. All straps, ropes and harnesses came with mine and used properly they work flawlessly with no mishaps.
Thanks for the video. I'm in the same boat as you. I've been hunting a few years now, but have always been able to go on private land with elevated box blinds. But I've lost access to that land. So public land it is. So I'm looking to get my first tree stand. And I'm not crazy about heights either. Did you get used to the climber?
Thanks for watching! Yes I got some what used to it but I still take my time going up and down. Make sure the top or bottom is solid before moving to go up or down. Once your in there it's fine. I did a 7 hour sit not to long ago
Ok i was dying laughing watching that descent 😅😅😅.
Thanks for checking it out!
Take this advice. Go to third hand archery and order you some stabilizer straps and you won’t regret it . They will lock the top and bottom tightly to the tree plus keeps you from accidentally dropping the bottom . They also take the place of the strap to nest it together. I been using a summit for years and these straps make a world of difference.
Thanks! My summit actually came with anchor straps that I use out in the field. Also came with a tether for the top and bottom. Thanks for watching and the tips!
@@TRP_Outdoors The third hand archery ones are a must have. You won't need the tether strap if you use the 3rd hand archery ones. They also have a very good bow holder which will allow you to climb with your bow in the holder.
@LionelMoreland-c7i ill give it a look! Thanks
Make sure you connect both stands together and strap top stand to the tree. Good luck
Good tip! Thank you very much for watching!
Get ur moves from ur mom???😂😂😂
U have to play with with everything to get it right for you. Main thing is make sure top amd bottom are tethered together so you dont drop it 20 ft up
I've been up and down a few times now. I definitely take my time with it and make sure the bottom and seat are set. Don't wanna fall out. Thanks for watching!
Aren't you suppose to put your leg over the seat and onto the bottom part of climber making sure to disconnect from tree harmnes connection
Yeah probably hahahaha this was literally my first time winging it. I'm much better with it now! Thanks for watching!
Some will bend at waist
The hot dog knife is pretty cool
Thanks! When I saw it I knew I had to have it.
The hot dog knife is cool the other one Not so much.
Thanks for watching!
😂😂😂 definitely not a new England thing
Frog gigger
Frog gig
Now i just need to learn how to use it! Thanks for watching
Ur mom likes the hot dog knife..lol
Definitely a punji prod, be careful, often times its smeared with feces for maximum effectiveness
Hahahahahahaha!!!!!!
Frog or flounder gig
That seems to be the answer. Thanks for watching!
Yup old flounder gig
Guess I'll have to learn how to use it one day!
Kinda looks like a frog spear! Whatever it is, you're on the money for it being some kind of stickin tool
Thanks!
I had a Summit Viper years ago and it was ok but loud and clunky. Since then it's been either a regular 1.5 man tree stand or slowly getting used to my saddle. Id scrap that stupid tree wrap tether and get a lifeline, that way if something goes wrong up there you can still get down. A lifeline with a Prusik knot is super easy to move up and down and inches tight if something happens.
Thanks for the input. I've been looking at saddles since I bought this stand because of the reasons you mentioned. Thanks for watching and good luck out there!
Great idea. You can leave it if you need to for $12. Easy to cut it down and run if need!
Facts! For the cost of a big feeder you can build a few of these units
Remember to take it out of your wallet before you go to the courthouse. Those guys are not very nice, and the courthouse floor doesn't taste very good.
Good tip!
I had that back in the day in 2007 😂
It could still be hiding in your wallet..... thanks for watching!
Nice i got the 3 pack actually!
So cheap and convenient to not buy. Thanks for watching!
Be careful when you stab someone because it will break and you will lose your blade. I know because I stabbed someone with this exact blade
Hahahaha
Damn thats clean
Classics, i have a few other than actually being useful they are also very none tactical looking so don't panic people when you use them in public.
Where can I get one
I put the Instagram link in the description, I'm not sure of he's still making knives but definitely ask! Thanks for watching
tard
Perfectly cooked sir!
Glad you liked it!
I like it
Thanks!
I appreciate the realness of this. I tried a climber for the first time recently and experienced a lot of what you did. Got stuck getting out, about lost my platform, luckily it was attached tot he top. Thanks for the video and know you’re definitely.
Bring the top down far enough to step over, that's what I do now. Thanks for watching!!
Damn good editing buddy! Keep it up.
Not to offend but your pushing the size limit of that stand. I had to get the titan just to be within the weight spec.
Appreciate the input, I've actually lost even more weight since this video thanks for watching!
I'd load it and not stick my fingers past were the string stops. If it happens to go off your losing fingers brother
Thanks man!
Don't forget to strap your top piece to the tree once you're at the height that you wanted. I use a ratchet straps. Also always connect the two piece together, have a tether rope in between them. Be safe out there.
Thank you! That's great advice for everyone watching as well
Best tool for ruining a knife
That did not sound very sharp.
Thanks for watching!
Obviously this gun is gold and white… ☠
I love the internet! Hahaha
Heck yeah brother. I just got the 50 ae cyclops. I have an old cobray side by side 410 45 pocket pistol . You can shoot both bbls with that one
Nice! It's so much fun and the perfect size to throw in my vest.
@@TRP_Outdoors heck yeah man. Definitely make anything think twice!
Heck yeah that's awesome man. I live in pa i have a place up north. We have some world class elk up there but it's like hitting the lottery to get a tag or lots of money and friends in the right places lol. I almost hit one with my tractor trailer close to a 400 inch bull elk would have totaled the truck
Luck was 100% on my side! I'm pumped to get out there!!!! Thanks
Im pretty sure the reason you got stuck i because your seat isn’t in the right place 😂😂 Its supposed to be behind the top bar😂 And side note always leave your top part above waist height so you don’t get stuck and it’s easier to get out if you turn around 😂😂
Noted! I still got some practice to do for sure, thanks for watching!
Check the rear firing pin.
The lever not locking closed is a simple fix the plunger that holds it shut is not locking probably bad spring are crap has got under plunger . Drive pin out while keeping your hand over plunger . It will spring out . Replace spring check plunger for rust dirt that kind of stuff hold back in drive pin in .
Thanks! Some one mentioned below the actual part name as well. Seems like it should be a simple enough fix and back to the range!
"Finger level plunger" or spring is damaged or worn out.
Thanks! I have some one that was recommended to me. Hopefully it will be repaired soon!
Tighten your loading gate screw
I can try that, thanks!
Your bolt isnt locking in fully might not be going forward far enough. Wd40 works good for cleaning and lube. Clean it real good and try it. If u didnt already
Have tried thats why I took it some where. My buddy already recommended some one so I'll get it looked at next week. Thanks for watching!
Your red dot is too far forward. It should be mounted to the receiver not on the barrel reel.
Never put an optic on the handguard. Always on the upper. And this is one of the reasons lol. Side note.. any rifle doesnt matter how exspensive, you should go over with a fine tooth comb. Make sure all nuts and bolts are tight and everything is lined up and good to go. 🤙🏻
Thanks! Rifle has now been gone through, tightened up, and optic moved. Video update coming next time I get to the range
@@TRP_Outdoors hell yeah
