  • You can reduce engine noise and heat in your RV with this simple fix. Is your motorhome engine loud? Does heat radiate through your motorhome doghouse? We had the same problem. In this video, we add the Dynamat hood liner to our 2021 Fleetwood Bounder. It was a simple motorhome DIY project that took about 2 hours to complete. If your RV cockpit is loud and you are tired of yelling across the cabin then check out our solution. This video will also show you how to remove the RV doghouse in a late model Fleetwood.

    I will try anything to quite the 7.3engine noise down, so this is one mod I will be doing on my 23 Bounder. Every time I stepped on that plastic strip I thought I broke it so nice to know it was the velcro making the crunching noise.

      We thought the same! That crunch! Let us know how it works out.

    I'm torn. Should I just do this alone or should I put a layer of sound deadening mat on first with a roller and then this hoodliner on top?

    • @AmpedtoGlamp
      @AmpedtoGlamp  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Definitely do the inside of hoodliner. For additional sound deadening some will also cover the floor near the engine.

    how about put 2 layer pad , may be more better thanks talk about that on 18th thanks

      @AmpedtoGlamp  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. We're thinking about placing more matting under the floor. But overall we are really pleased. We'll be heading into some mountains next week and that will be a really good test as the engine tends to scream going up hill. See you on the 18th!

      We have mixed feelings about our Bounder. Love the floor plan and so far the Ford Chassis has been great. But we've had over 40 problems and 3 years of repairs. Would have been great if our Bounder was better made.

    When I had a class C, I also insulated my doghouse, it made a huge difference. However, I just used some Furnace insulation from Lowes and aluminum duct tape. Made a huge difference in heat and sound.
    I have no idea why RV manufacturers don’t do this from the factory.

    GREAT upgrade!! We've had this exact idea, but I never would have thought of the template out of foil! 😂 I had to ask a few techs how to access the dog house on ours, and I'm glad it's not just us who thought this was a pain! 😬

    Those square screws are a Canadian invention manynyears ago caled Robertson. They are far less likely to strip and the screwdriver grips them for easy install. Canadians are annoyed by the archaic philips screws in the same way Americans dislike slotted screws

    • @AmpedtoGlamp
      @AmpedtoGlamp  ปีที่แล้ว

      So the frustration is mutual. lol. We had no idea. Sounds like the reduced tendency to strip is quite the bonus.

      I live in Canada and thought he encountered some special security screw when he didn't have a head that fits. I was surprised when he said it was square and I thought, who doesn't have a square bit? Every basic screwdriver kit in Canada includes Robertson and Phillips driver bits. It is strange that the US does not use the same basic bits for compatibility with other North American products.

    Another great video! When John started with the screwdriver, I thought, oh no! Thank goodness for the driver. Laughed out loud with the lack of a square screw bit. Something like that & Sherri's kitchen scissors are a regular occurrence when I start a project around the house.
    Done, & no parts left over! 😂 Thanks again, it was so helpful because one thing I do know, if we end up with a class a it'll be a gasser or a fred, not a pusher.

      Hey! Quick note on the noise reduction from 82 to 75 decibels: it's actually more significant than a 6% drop. Decibels work on a logarithmic scale, so a 7 dB decrease means the noise intensity was cut by about 5 times, not 6%. That's a pretty impactful reduction! Great to see such effective soundproofing.
