my DAD is going on 91 and eats a giant bowl of fresh, organic fruit for breakfast and his second and final meal is dinner which is fresh fish and fresh veggies..That's all he eats, no dairy, no snacks, no alcohol. He golfs weekly and goes to the gym daily. He walks 2 miles on the treadmill and sometimes rides his bike. He has a full head of hair, hardly any grey hair, and still has all of his teeth.
I live in a small suburb and work in the same town I live in. Patients I see don’t really have too many health issues, I work with a 90 year old doc who eats cheese sandwiches grapes and milk or tomato soup for lunch, for breakfast McDonald sandwich and black coffee for dinner his maid cooked oily Filipino dishes deep fried nooodles and meat
That's how I feel, confused! I enjoy veggies and fruit more than meat. Meat actually even grosses me out sometimes. Nothing to do with vegan principles, it just doesn't appeal to me.
What they're probably promoting are organic meats or those that are from grass-fed animals.. unfortunately, depending on location it could be either difficult or very expensive to find a good source
I too am super-impressed with both the interview and with David. I am motivated by hearing him say that his biological age is 'BETTER THAN 20!!!' (at 52). I'm was sold on giving some of these "pathways" a go. Particularly NMN, RESVERATROL, and Metformin. I am just into my second week of taking NMN, Resveratrol, Fisetin, Quercetin and TMG. Oh and Metformin ONLY after exercise maybe 3 x per week. I have a reasonable exercise regime (cardio 30min every other day and mid-range resistance training - whole body 2 x/week). I get between 6-8 hours of broken sleep per night. So, since beginning my new regime (including metformin) 10 days ago I have noticed feeling more consistent energy levels throughout the day - my running speed has increased with seeming ease - I am not waking as frequently through the night and have slept through twice- when I wake I feel more focused and don't want to hit the snooze button. My mind is most definitely clearer in general - I feel GOOOO0D, calmer and more peaceful, less stressed I suppose. Perhaps there is a partial placebo effect IDK, time will tell. For now though I am a happy mouse (lol). Oh yes, I recently turned 55.

My mom is now 100 years old. Her diet has included meat, dairy, bread. I think her longevity is due to her low body fat relative to most American women and daily physical exercise.
The woman who lived to the longest age recorded actually smoked after dinner regularly. That doesn't mean smoking is healthy. Some people are either lucky or doing good things for their health but it doesn't mean they can't do better.

There are so much factor that effects longevity. Level of stress, sleep, sports and yes food is one of the most important of them but since 2019 I start to eat farm beef 3 times at week, quality farm butter and yogurt, shrooms, rice, potatoes, farm eggs and season fruits and I never felt more strong and healthy. Those videos from David are similar to what I do, and they work! I failed doing some artistic things in my youth, due to depression, negative environment etc... So I ask God to give me back my youth and a second chance in life and my artistic dreams. Aside from positive thinking and living a happy life, I discover as far as science has proved that the combination of specific foods, especially raw, intermittent fasting, some athletic performance, cutting meat of course, I am a vegetarian and in the process of adding more chlorella to my diet and cutting cheese has HUGE anti aging results and with anti aging through natural ways comes of course health . Like HUGE, example, I am a smoker since I was 18, now I am 40, my aunt who never smoked and never drink, died of cancer at the age of 51, and she discovered she has cancer from 2 exams. CEA and 19-9 cancer exams. It was terminal, she scored at one of the 2 (don't remember which right now) 9100, so me and mom got scared, and we did the same exams to see our levels. My CEA as a smoker was 0.7 and 19-9 was a 7. My mom is heavier smoker and she had 1.6 CEA, smokers in my country score 5-6, AMAZING. I am 40 and people don't make me more than 25- 28. And I see it on my face, I still see some of the baby fat I had in my 20s, I have slowed down aging a lot and stop smoking, I vape now. Now in my 40s, I do more strictly the 16/8 fasting, I used to do more 12 hours per day and I have my own vegetable garden in which I specialize to make the vegetables with high levels of Brix. When a plant has high levels of brix has more nutrition, like dramatically more nutrition. We eat from our garden for 4 years now and we buy organic super foods and we started buying a plethora of fruits and vegetables from organic farmers market (I cannot plant everything). Plus we eat wild plants as well, naturally growing in my garden, I don't use chemicals to eliminate the weeds, because some of the weeds are edible so we eat them, I do strictly organic farming. Thats my life style, it is a bit expensive, but worth every penny, instead of buying 1500 cell phone, I buy at the same money special super foods that will last me a whole year, (I don't over do it, I intuitively eat per day, some times I eat so much concentrated nutrition foods that I might stop for a few days and resume again), but every time I see my face on the mirror and I dance and I started going to the gym as well, that life style has a type of benefit that all the money in the world cannot buy, you cannot buy youth, you cannot buy health in some cases, I don't want my life or my youth to stop at 40 or 50, prevention and working small steps every single day gives back precious benefits. I will add soon not only chlorella because of its B12 and D which chlorella B12 is proven that works on humans, but also Klamath Lake sea weed which also its B12 is compatible with humans, AMAZING benefits, huge energy levels, I simply want to eat aside from the well known plants, rare exotic plants, super foods, herbs, etc. I cut fish and meat and I have added dozens of plants to eat. Like I learn about new plants everyday, they are SOOOOO many, like fuck meat, who cares about meat when you can eat DOZENS of new foods. New flavors, I enjoy so many flavors from new plants. Now with all the knowledge and of course good levels of happiness, I am ready to face my 40s going to 50.

@@incisor78 I understand, my suggestion in general is to take some time and research foods in general and start tasting and trying. I will tell you an example, when I first stop meat completely and fish, when it was my period I wanted to eat meat, and then from my research I thought that bee pollen might help with the cravings for protein and I bought 10 kilos of high quality fresh bee pollen I started with 20 grams per day like an athlete and then the cravings stopped. I added chlorella, sesame seeds, hemp, linseeds and pea protein, etc.... then all the cravings for foods stopped. Now, you do YOU and only YOU! if you are serious about limiting meat and anti aging do your own research about foods and what plant based alternatives are there and try them. Its a journey that someone needs to do it on its own. And while I am all about being a vegetarian/vegan, I understand that people cannot just stop eating meat tomorrow. Its a process and say to yourself, once per week you will research something new each month try something new. This is how I did it and successfully stop all cravings. But it took me 9 years to reach where I am today with my foods. So be relaxed and you will work something out.
I don't mind eating similar to him. My concern is that i love going to the gym and lifting weights and putting on some muscle as i get older. I tried going vegeterian for upwards of 2 months, and admittedly, it helped with my arthritic symptoms dramatically. I did notice a significant reduction in my muscle mass though. I felt healthy, just found myself looking more so like an elite marathon runner instead of a gym rat, which is not what i prefer.

I agree. No hate, but I find many people in the longevity community who tout vegan diets do not actually look healthy. They often look weak, pale, or tired - overall, they lack a certain vitality that I think can only be achieved by consuming meats and animal products. I do not think humans should ideally be eating all plants, nuts, seeds, and soy... it does not make ancestral sense.
I was keto for about a year and two months ago went carnivore. Never felt better, fat falling off, BP is much improved, heart rate much improved. I'm sticking with it👍
I don't get it. He says he cut out carbs (bread), then he says he cut out protein (eggs, meat) and in the same sentence fat (meat again). So he lives off plant fibre and oils? Just my own story, and your mileage may vary, but, I've been a vegetarian for many years and don't require "tons of supplementation." First, I cut out all meats. A few years later, I stopped eggs and dairy products. Still a few years more, and I cut out fish. I still eat bread, but I have reduced the amount of it over time. I think the key to being successful as a vegetarian or vegan is that you have to eat ALL vegetables. I've heard a lot of stories of younger people (high school, college aged) who decide to be vegetarians because of concern for animals, but then they don't like this and they don't like that, and their diet ends up being potatoes, salads, and power drinks. It's no wonder they have problems. There are plenty of vegetable protein sources, and it's definitely possible to get enough protein without eating animal products. I didn't say it was easy. You have to learn to like A LOT of vegetables and you have to learn whether they are nutritionally better for you when cooked or when eaten raw - they aren't all the same. There's a group called the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine that provides resources for people who want to eat a plant based diet. Going it alone greatly increased one's risk of health problems.

People adapt and get creative in creating the tastiest food possible using what is available and applying all the constraints. For a carnivore to turn vegetarian, it would be a good idea to study the diet and health of societies that have been vegetarian for a long time ( centuries )
What about Iceland and Hong Kong? Iceland consumes lots of seafood, meat, and dairy and they live to very old age. Same with Hong Kong, highest meat consumption on the planet with the highest average life expectancy on the planet as well.

Butter is considered to be superfood if organic so not all dairy is bad. I think i could cut dairy but keep butter (or ghee) as a superfood , and then maybe kefir.
I am a small woman who mostly eat plants, haha. Inside Tracker blood test has shown that my inner age is 30 vs my chronological age 40. Vitamin B12 is a product of bacterias. You can get it from fermented food like tempeh or seeweed (or of course supplements from these natural resources or in synthetic form). Vitamin D is synthetized in your skin, you can also get it from mushrooms or through supplements.
Question: If you cut out dairy, what do you use to mix the NMN, resveratrol, and Quercetin in? Aren't they supposed to be mixed in yogurt? If you tell me to mix it in olive oil and then try to swallow it down, I can tell you that's not gonna happen. I can barely swallow the yogurt as it is. Those powders are so bitter they make me gag sometimes.
I'm a big fan of the daily dozen by Dr. greger. I think it can be very nutritious and healthy for longevity but requires a fair amount of research and huge effort for getting all the essentials. Nutrient reccommendations for vita b12, vita D, Calcium, Omega-3, Iodine, Iron, Selenium. Then dairy free, oil free, no meat, no eggs, etc. And then getting the quantity and the variety for complete proteins. I calculated the amount of protein I needed for my diet and it was around 77g per day so that is a lot just from beans, nuts, legumes, veggies, etc. And that is maybe around 10% of my daily intake for protein. But it seems like if you do this all correctly is it one of the healthiest diets for lower risks for diabetes, cancer, heart disease, etc.
Time will doubtlessly be the arbitrator. However, cross-referenced data indicates that a vegan-pescatarian diet is best for longevity. I'm not saying anything about carnivores' choice. Odd, I was pudgy, had puffy eyes & feel sluggish when eating all those healthy plants like broccoli, tomato, spinach, cabbage, kale etc . But once I switched to carnivore diet, I look younger, leaner, feel stronger & fitter. Friends were shocked by my new younger look.

So simple !!! Guys in the comments, dr Sinclair only stated what works for him. You have to consider that each individual has different needs, different levels of fitness and so on. Dr Sinclair did said that he's a lazy person so regular vigorous exercising isn't his thing. I only gather what is relevant for me, from all the specialists that I was watching. First and most importantly for a longer/healthier lifespan is to maintain a low level of stress. Having an equilibrated diet, composed of vegetables, fruits and moderate amounts of meat and diary works best for most people. Keeping yourself slim especially as you get older is also very important.
My aunt and uncle were strict vegans, never smoked and only drank occationally. They juice every single day. They died of cancer in their 50s. Nature is playing mind games with us with all these confusion.

Vegan, 20+ years, No Saturated fat. And my t levels are doing just fine. In fact, studies on the matter have concluded, either no difference or another British Journal of Cancer study found that vegans had 13% higher t levels. Considering however the prevalence of obesity, it's detrimental affects on testosterone/ well-being (and the planet, but a debate for another day) and then the fact that vegans tend to be thinner, lower BMIs on average, going 'plant-forward' seems like a pretty good way to maximize happiness. But as Dr. Sinclair says, it's easier to do than you imagine, so just try it and see how you feel...

the western high carb diet is what's killing us and causing metobolic diseases everywhere. hence keto, low carb, carnivore etc exploding. in essence humans biologically are hyper carnivores (70% animal eating) and meant to eat high fat diets. all diets end up around 20% protein so you are left with 80% to fill with fat or carbs for the other two macro nutrients. only fat is essential. carb aren't required by humans.
The keto diet works for people because once they go truly keto, they are no longer eating refined carbohydrates and processed meats. This guy went one step further than keto by avoiding meat and dairy as well , resulting in even better health and blood numbers.
The Keto diet, the Paleo diet, the Carnivorous diet, the Vegan diet, the Vegetarian diet all of these different diets can seem confusing. But out of all of these diets the one I have seen that works best for longevity and is feasible for most people is the Mediterranean diet. Hands down it's the most effective diet on the planet.
In the Mediterranean diet, those on Sardinian diet live the longest. The Sardinian diet focuses on fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes, and they eat meat only occasionally. That is as close as possible to a whole food plant based diet (whole food vegan diet) for a community. There are no 100 percent vegan traditional communities to compare the Sardinian diet with, but there are studies comparing a group of fully whole food plant based diet to those on Mediterranean diet, and the fully plant diet came on top. I can’t include links to the studies as that would delete my comment.
@@osiriswills6749 Sardinia is in Italy, and their diet is also Mediterranean diet, but it focuses mainly on unprocessed and unrefined plant based foods, with animal foods included only occasionally. The diet mainly consists of whole grains, fruits, vegetables and legumes and some goat-milk cheese.
I stopped eating dairy but reintroduced it lately. It's not regular milk. I give it Kiefer, let it sit 24 hours then it's full of bacteria and lacking the sugar. To me meat that is raw is way different than cooked.
My problem with all these rules is that most of my relatives have very healthy lives and die in their mid to late 90's, They eat whatever they want with generous amounts of meat, spices, wines, etc. I've yet to personally observe any people who have lengthened their lives by going vegan. I see very (none) few stories or studies about the benefits of changing the diet your ancestors had for the past 10,000 year and eating a bunch of crap made in factories. I think the real key is the freshness of what you're eating - freshly killed meats, freshly harvested vegetables and fruits, etc. My belief has always been, If it's made in a factory, stay AWAY. Stick with the fresh food your ancestors ate and you'll be better off.

your ancestors eat meat...but certainly not in amount we eat now, certainly not meat from a production line and certainly not most days...it was just too expensive for average people to eat meat, it was more a big occasion food, most of time, it was more something to gave taste than anything else
@@pouetpouetdaddy5 when are you talking about? our biology hasn't changed in hundreds of thousands of years. farming was only invented 10k years ago. before that we ate mostly animal (lots of large herbivores like mammoth with loads of fat) and whatever few berries and occasional in season veg that didn't kill us. biologically we are hyper carnivores (70% animal). high fat not low or medium fat is our natural diet.
There are lots and lots and lots of evidence that vegans have much lower rates of arteriosclerosis and significantly lower rates of cancer, and those are the top #2 killers of humans. All the "Blue Zone" that are enriched in Centenarians are peoples that eat mostly vegetarian, carbohydrate based diets. The evidence is overhwhelming. The problem with people like you is that you come up with all sorts of excuses because you don't want to give up butter, and red meat and cheese because they taste good. Simple as that. Just admit that the problem is that you like eating those foods.

There is no need to personally experiment to get better health and lower BP, lower LDL, balanced response to insulin, etc. There is a ton of published research that shows plant-based whole food will reduce risk, and even reverse chronic cardiovascular damage.
I've spent the last month in Argentina. Steak 20 out of the 30 days I've been here. That combined with little wheat, lots of greens, and lots of sunlight, I feel like a million bucks. I think everyone has a different genetic predisposition to different foods. You gotta figure it out for yourself.
The best diet I ever was on was a rather simple version of Dr. Atkin's diet. His was too restrictive for me but I went for the 'old white is bad diet' - no wheat, no sugar, and no dairy. My diet implies NO complex carbohydrates and all the protein and fats you want with moderate amounts of simple carbohydrates. In other words, if it's made in a factory don't touch it. Only eat fresh meat, vegetables, fruit, and other protein. When I went on this diet I slowly lost weight (about a half pound a week) and it stayed off (about 40 lbs) because I enjoyed the food. The only other things I did was faithfully exercised about 45 minutes a day and ate high fiber foods when available. I know that Atkins has been brutally criticized for his diet yet he has many legitimate studies confirming the benefits. I have not seen any legitimate studies confirming health benefits of vegan diets, just people talking about their personal experiences.
I thought some of the longest lived people in the world were on Okinawa, where they eat a lot of fish. Likewise Italy where there's a good balance of fish, meat & vegetables.

Sophia funny you mention cortisone...I have 'trigger finger' in both hands (maybe early onset arthritis) and have been considering it (cortisone). However, I am REALLY trying to open my heart in meditations to 'allow' my hands to be healed by the Universal Intelligence/God/The Field (as Joe Dispenza calls it). Also, I would like to wait a few months of taking NMN and see how I react or not in terms of the healing via cellular rejuvenation and mitochondria increase. I'll keep you posted. Definitely agree with eating once per day, but not eating red meat - I just don't agree with that. Grass-fed grass-finished red meat is the most nutrient dense food on the planet. If I were to eat one thing only for the rest of my life, hands down, it would be red meat.
I don't get it, David Sinclair claims that what made his messurements to improve is low protein and low animal fat (he stated that the fat in the meat is also a problem) but then he also says that eating a lot of cheese also made his measurements better. Doesn't cheese contains high protein and high animal fat?
I've got very high lipoprotein (a) too. Apparently there is nothing you can do about it. Just got to keep your cholesterol and triglycerides as low as possible.

But I heard store bought vegetables today even if organic are very different than the ones 30 plus years ago. The idea is nice but it’s wishful. We still should eat vegetables but they do not pack the same punch as they did years ago. Don’t get me started on wheat (yes whole wheat too). It’s been genetically modified up the wazoo since 1950. Wheat allergies have since then increased by a whopping 300%. Think twice about that Turkey and veggie whole wheat sandwich wrap. Especially regular veggies sprayed with roundup pesticides. As far as meat goes, it depends on what kind. It’s more expensive but it makes a big difference for your health if you eat grass fed beef rather than non-grass fed beef. Organic is also much better so you can ditch all the hormones and antibiotics that would get in your system. If you have grass fed organic beef having it more will not shorten your lifespan but you gotta read the label.

from my research 2 sea weeds have B12 that works on humans, Chlorella and Klamath lake sea weed. Chlorella also rich in vit D. Those 2 are proven that raise B12 levels on humans. They don't contain antagonist B12. I buy Chlorella from Pink sun, why? because they have info how much you are getting at 15 gr per day, they seem to have like a really high quality chlorella at a good price and the levels are huge. This way I cut fish like no problem. For me meat wasn't a big deal to stop eating never liked it since I was a kid, fish I like the taste and I would eat some before I became full vegetarian. After Chlorella I am good.
@@freepagan Chlorella doesn't have large amount of iodine. It is not harmful. This is why I prefer pinksun company it says what you take per 100 gr. I take 15 gr per day chlorella. I take only 15% the recommended iodine per day.
You can circumvent the fat in the meat problem at least by just eating some wild game (very lean) or going for the leanest cuts of meat you can get. Most of the hormones and toxins are in the fat anyway. I can't get my head around the idea that fresh unprocessed meat is bad for us when it is literally THE food we had our biggest spike in brain and physical develop on in the entire history of our species. I've tried cutting meat out completely several times, whilst making sure I was eating lots of 'healthy' plant foods to make up the energy difference, and all I saw was lethargy, decreased mental and physical performance, and just an overall deterioration in well being. Yes, he pretty much did from the sound of it. At first he stopped the refined carbs and sugar which gave him good results. Then he stopped the meat eating and had better results. And then he stopped the dairy on top of that and had even better results.

People in different parts of the world have been known to live very long and rather well eating mostly quality meat, full milk, fish, rice or potatoes, butter, cream, eggs, porridge, olive oil, fish, berries, greens, ground grains, mushrooms, cocoa, coffee, tea, herbs etc. Even having a tipple and a cigar. It's interesting how Carnivores seem to have the same positive effects on their health. Lot's of videos online, with people going the carnivore-way, also monitoring the changes in their bodies, blood etc. and... getting phenomenaly positive results. To me that means, that actually is no "general truth" when it comes to diet. It might be more an individual thing.

I choose 100% organic ground beef Grass Fed and fish sometimes, make smoothies with blueberries and banana, and broccoli sprouts or brussel sprouts, Japanese matcha, chia seed and Spirulina, Chlorella powders and add plain organic Grass Fed yugort with pear juice no added refine sugars. I do have eggs from my own chickens in my breakfast Grass. I have lunch, but no Dinner. Take Quercetin daily and Fisetin vitamin D3 10,000 UI with K2 daily. Collagen plus whole food Vitamin C). Put dried apricots also in my smoothies if I have any.

my DAD is going on 91 and eats a giant bowl of fresh, organic fruit for breakfast and his second and final meal is dinner which is fresh fish and fresh veggies..That's all he eats, no dairy, no snacks, no alcohol. He golfs weekly and goes to the gym daily. He walks 2 miles on the treadmill and sometimes rides his bike. He has a full head of hair, hardly any grey hair, and still has all of his teeth.

I too am super-impressed with both the interview and with David. I am motivated by hearing him say that his biological age is 'BETTER THAN 20!!!' (at 52). I'm was sold on giving some of these "pathways" a go. Particularly NMN, RESVERATROL, and Metformin. I am just into my second week of taking NMN, Resveratrol, Fisetin, Quercetin and TMG. Oh and Metformin ONLY after exercise maybe 3 x per week. I have a reasonable exercise regime (cardio 30min every other day and mid-range resistance training - whole body 2 x/week). I get between 6-8 hours of broken sleep per night.
So, since beginning my new regime (including metformin) 10 days ago I have noticed feeling more consistent energy levels throughout the day - my running speed has increased with seeming ease - I am not waking as frequently through the night and have slept through twice- when I wake I feel more focused and don't want to hit the snooze button. My mind is most definitely clearer in general - I feel GOOOO0D, calmer and more peaceful, less stressed I suppose. Perhaps there is a partial placebo effect IDK, time will tell. For now though I am a happy mouse (lol). Oh yes, I recently turned 55.

There are so much factor that effects longevity. Level of stress, sleep, sports and yes food is one of the most important of them but since 2019 I start to eat farm beef 3 times at week, quality farm butter and yogurt, shrooms, rice, potatoes, farm eggs and season fruits and I never felt more strong and healthy. So it’s about the quality. Of course no sugar and bread

Those videos from David are similar to what I do, and they work! I failed doing some artistic things in my youth, due to depression, negative environment etc... So I ask God to give me back my youth and a second chance in life and my artistic dreams. Aside from positive thinking and living a happy life, I discover as far as science has proved that the combination of specific foods, especially raw, intermittent fasting, some athletic performance, cutting meat of course, I am a vegetarian and in the process of adding more chlorella to my diet and cutting cheese has HUGE anti aging results and with anti aging through natural ways comes of course health . Like HUGE, example, I am a smoker since I was 18, now I am 40, my aunt who never smoked and never drink, died of cancer at the age of 51, and she discovered she has cancer from 2 exams. CEA and 19-9 cancer exams. It was terminal, she scored at one of the 2 (don't remember which right now) 9100, so me and mom got scared, and we did the same exams to see our levels. My CEA as a smoker was 0.7 and 19-9 was a 7. My mom is heavier smoker and she had 1.6 CEA, smokers in my country score 5-6, AMAZING. I am 40 and people don't make me more than 25- 28. And I see it on my face, I still see some of the baby fat I had in my 20s, I have slowed down aging a lot and stop smoking, I vape now. Now in my 40s, I do more strictly the 16/8 fasting, I used to do more 12 hours per day and I have my own vegetable garden in which I specialize to make the vegetables with high levels of Brix. When a plant has high levels of brix has more nutrition, like dramatically more nutrition. We eat from our garden for 4 years now and we buy organic super foods and we started buying a plethora of fruits and vegetables from organic farmers market (I cannot plant everything). Plus we eat wild plants as well, naturally growing in my garden, I don't use chemicals to eliminate the weeds, because some of the weeds are edible so we eat them, I do strictly organic farming. Thats my life style, it is a bit expensive, but worth every penny, instead of buying 1500 cell phone, I buy at the same money special super foods that will last me a whole year, (I don't over do it, I intuitively eat per day, some times I eat so much concentrated nutrition foods that I might stop for a few days and resume again), but every time I see my face on the mirror and I dance and I started going to the gym as well, that life style has a type of benefit that all the money in the world cannot buy, you cannot buy youth, you cannot buy health in some cases, I don't want my life or my youth to stop at 40 or 50, prevention and working small steps every single day gives back precious benefits. I will add soon not only chlorella because of its B12 and D which chlorella B12 is proven that works on humans, but also Klamath Lake sea weed which also its B12 is compatible with humans, AMAZING benefits, huge energy levels, I simply want to eat aside from the well known plants, rare exotic plants, super foods, herbs, etc. I cut fish and meat and I have added dozens of plants to eat. Like I learn about new plants everyday, they are SOOOOO many, like fuck meat, who cares about meat when you can eat DOZENS of new foods. New flavors, I enjoy so many flavors from new plants. For example iron? not a problem I make amaranth as a pop corn, how cool! I take much of my iron needs from that, I like the flavor, like I was born to be a vegetarian. For me this work like a charm and I started this since I was 31 years old. Minimum signs of aging (my mom says non, but she is my mom, I don't believe her lol) at a decade that most people age like crazy, 30-40 is special. Now with all the knowledge and of course good levels of happiness, I am ready to face my 40s going to 50.

@@incisor78 I understand, my suggestion in general is to take some time and research foods in general and start tasting and trying. I will tell you an example, when I first stop meat completely and fish, when it was my period I wanted to eat meat, and then from my research I thought that bee pollen might help with the cravings for protein and I bought 10 kilos of high quality fresh bee pollen I started with 20 grams per day like an athlete and then the cravings stopped. I added chlorella, sesame seeds, hemp, linseeds and pea protein, etc.... then all the cravings for foods stopped. Now, you do YOU and only YOU! if you are serious about limiting meat and anti aging do your own research about foods and what plant based alternatives are there and try them. Its a journey that someone needs to do it on its own. And while I am all about being a vegetarian/vegan, I understand that people cannot just stop eating meat tomorrow. Its a process and say to yourself, once per week you will research something new each month try something new. This is how I did it and successfully stop all cravings. But it took me 9 years to reach where I am today with my foods. So be relaxed and you will work something out.
I don't mind eating similar to him. My concern is that i love going to the gym and lifting weights and putting on some muscle as i get older. I tried going vegeterian for upwards of 2 months, and admittedly, it helped with my arthritic symptoms dramatically. I did notice a significant reduction in my muscle mass though. I felt healthy, just found myself looking more so like an elite marathon runner instead of a gym rat, which is not what i prefer.
Veganism made my father's arthritis worse.

I agree. No hate, but I find many people in the longevity community who tout vegan diets do not actually look healthy. They often look weak, pale, or tired - overall, they lack a certain vitality that I think can only be achieved by consuming meats and animal products. I do not think humans should ideally be eating all plants, nuts, seeds, and soy... it does not make ancestral sense.

I don't get it. He says he cut out carbs (bread), then he says he cut out protein (eggs, meat) and in the same sentence fat (meat again). So he lives off plant fibre and oils? That sounds like he requires tons of supplementation for missing out on actual nutrition. Not sure I wanna live to 200 if I have to eat like that...
Haha, it's like the joke, vegan ice-cream: it's just ice... But I'd love for Dr. Sinclair to detail his diet more. I imagine lots of veggies and plant sources of protein (he's said before, he gets lots of protein, just not from animal sources). So perhaps nuts, seeds, legumes, soy?
Just my own story, and your mileage may vary, but, I've been a vegetarian for many years and don't require "tons of supplementation." First, I cut out all meats. A few years later, I stopped eggs and dairy products. Still a few years more, and I cut out fish. I still eat bread, but I have reduced the amount of it over time. I think the key to being successful as a vegetarian or vegan is that you have to eat ALL vegetables. I've heard a lot of stories of younger people (high school, college aged) who decide to be vegetarians because of concern for animals, but then they don't like this and they don't like that, and their diet ends up being potatoes, salads, and power drinks. It's no wonder they have problems. There are plenty of vegetable protein sources, and it's definitely possible to get enough protein without eating animal products. I didn't say it was easy. You have to learn to like A LOT of vegetables and you have to learn whether they are nutritionally better for you when cooked or when eaten raw - they aren't all the same. There's a group called the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine that provides resources for people who want to eat a plant based diet. Going it alone greatly increased one's risk of health problems.

People adapt and get creative in creating the tastiest food possible using what is available and applying all the constraints. For a carnivore to turn vegetarian, it would be a good idea to study the diet and health of societies that have been vegetarian for a long time ( centuries )

Butter is considered to be superfood if organic so not all dairy is bad. I think i could cut dairy but keep butter (or ghee) as a superfood , and then maybe kefir.

I am a small woman who mostly eat plants, haha. Inside Tracker blood test has shown that my inner age is 30 vs my chronological age 40. So I guess I can confirm what Dr. Sinclair was saying ☺️ But I do eat salmon and sardines, I hope it won’t affect my lifespan too much 😊

How do you get vitamin b12 / D after cutting out on meat?
Vitamin B12 is a product of bacterias. You can get it from fermented food like tempeh or seeweed (or of course supplements from these natural resources or in synthetic form). Vitamin D is synthetized in your skin, you can also get it from mushrooms or through supplements.
Question: If you cut out dairy, what do you use to mix the NMN, resveratrol, and Quercetin in? Aren't they supposed to be mixed in yogurt? If you tell me to mix it in olive oil and then try to swallow it down, I can tell you that's not gonna happen. I can barely swallow the yogurt as it is. Those powders are so bitter they make me gag sometimes.

I'm a big fan of the daily dozen by Dr. greger. I think it can be very nutritious and healthy for longevity but requires a fair amount of research and huge effort for getting all the essentials. Nutrient reccommendations for vita b12, vita D, Calcium, Omega-3, Iodine, Iron, Selenium. Then dairy free, oil free, no meat, no eggs, etc. And then getting the quantity and the variety for complete proteins. I calculated the amount of protein I needed for my diet and it was around 77g per day so that is a lot just from beans, nuts, legumes, veggies, etc. And that is maybe around 10% of my daily intake for protein. But it seems like if you do this all correctly is it one of the healthiest diets for lower risks for diabetes, cancer, heart disease, etc.

Odd, I was pudgy, had puffy eyes & feel sluggish when eating all those healthy plants like broccoli, tomato, spinach, cabbage, kale etc . But once I switched to carnivore diet, I look younger, leaner, feel stronger & fitter. Friends were shocked by my new younger look.

Guys in the comments, dr Sinclair only stated what works for him. You have to consider that each individual has different needs, different levels of fitness and so on. Dr Sinclair did said that he's a lazy person so regular vigorous exercising isn't his thing. I only gather what is relevant for me, from all the specialists that I was watching. First and most importantly for a longer/healthier lifespan is to maintain a low level of stress. Having an equilibrated diet, composed of vegetables, fruits and moderate amounts of meat and diary works best for most people. Keeping yourself slim especially as you get older is also very important.
My aunt and uncle were strict vegans, never smoked and only drank occationally. They juice every single day. They died of cancer in their 50s. Nature is playing mind games with us with all these confusion.

Vegan, 20+ years, No Saturated fat. And my t levels are doing just fine. In fact, studies on the matter have concluded, either no difference or another British Journal of Cancer study found that vegans had 13% higher t levels.
Considering however the prevalence of obesity, it's detrimental affects on testosterone/ well-being (and the planet, but a debate for another day) and then the fact that vegans tend to be thinner, lower BMIs on average, going 'plant-forward' seems like a pretty good way to maximize happiness. But as Dr. Sinclair says, it's easier to do than you imagine, so just try it and see how you feel...

the western high carb diet is what's killing us and causing metobolic diseases everywhere. hence keto, low carb, carnivore etc exploding. in essence humans biologically are hyper carnivores (70% animal eating) and meant to eat high fat diets. all diets end up around 20% protein so you are left with 80% to fill with fat or carbs for the other two macro nutrients. only fat is essential. carb aren't required by humans.
The keto diet works for people because once they go truly keto, they are no longer eating refined carbohydrates and processed meats. This guy went one step further than keto by avoiding meat and dairy as well , resulting in even better health and blood numbers.

The Keto diet, the Paleo diet, the Carnivorous diet, the Vegan diet, the Vegetarian diet all of these different diets can seem confusing. But out of all of these diets the one I have seen that works best for longevity and is feasible for most people is the Mediterranean diet. Hands down it's the most effective diet on the planet.

In the Mediterranean diet, those on Sardinian diet live the longest. The Sardinian diet focuses on fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes, and they eat meat only occasionally. That is as close as possible to a whole food plant based diet (whole food vegan diet) for a community. There are no 100 percent vegan traditional communities to compare the Sardinian diet with, but there are studies comparing a group of fully whole food plant based diet to those on Mediterranean diet, and the fully plant diet came on top. I stopped eating dairy but reintroduced it lately. It's not regular milk. I give it Kiefer, let it sit 24 hours then it's full of bacteria and lacking the sugar. To me meat that is raw is way different than cooked.

My problem with all these rules is that most of my relatives have very healthy lives and die in their mid to late 90's, They eat whatever they want with generous amounts of meat, spices, wines, etc. I've yet to personally observe any people who have lengthened their lives by going vegan. I see very (none) few stories or studies about the benefits of changing the diet your ancestors had for the past 10,000 year and eating a bunch of crap made in factories. I think the real key is the freshness of what you're eating - freshly killed meats, freshly harvested vegetables and fruits, etc. My belief has always been, If it's made in a factory, stay AWAY. Stick with the fresh food your ancestors ate and you'll be better off.

There are lots and lots and lots of evidence that vegans have much lower rates of arteriosclerosis and significantly lower rates of cancer, and those are the top #2 killers of humans. All the "Blue Zone" that are enriched in Centenarians are peoples that eat mostly vegetarian, carbohydrate based diets. The evidence is overhwhelming. The problem with people like you is that you come up with all sorts of excuses because you don't want to give up butter, and red meat and cheese because they taste good. Simple as that. Just admit that the problem is that you like eating those foods.

There is no need to personally experiment to get better health and lower BP, lower LDL, balanced response to insulin, etc. There is a ton of published research that shows plant-based whole food will reduce risk, and even reverse chronic cardiovascular damage.

I've spent the last month in Argentina. Steak 20 out of the 30 days I've been here. That combined with little wheat, lots of greens, and lots of sunlight, I feel like a million bucks.
I think everyone has a different genetic predisposition to different foods. You gotta figure it out for yourself.
The best diet I ever was on was a rather simple version of Dr. Atkin's diet. His was too restrictive for me but I went for the 'old white is bad diet' - no wheat, no sugar, and no dairy. My diet implies NO complex carbohydrates and all the protein and fats you want with moderate amounts of simple carbohydrates. In other words, if it's made in a factory don't touch it. Only eat fresh meat, vegetables, fruit, and other protein. When I went on this diet I slowly lost weight (about a half pound a week) and it stayed off (about 40 lbs) because I enjoyed the food. The only other things I did was faithfully exercised about 45 minutes a day and ate high fiber foods when available. I know that Atkins has been brutally criticized for his diet yet he has many legitimate studies confirming the benefits. I have not seen any legitimate studies confirming health benefits of vegan diets, just people talking about their personal experiences.

Sophia funny you mention cortisone...I have 'trigger finger' in both hands (maybe early onset arthritis) and have been considering it (cortisone). However, I am REALLY trying to open my heart in meditations to 'allow' my hands to be healed by the Universal Intelligence/God/The Field (as Joe Dispenza calls it). Also, I would like to wait a few months of taking NMN and see how I react or not in terms of the healing via cellular rejuvenation and mitochondria increase. I'll keep you posted. Definitely agree with eating once per day, but not eating red meat - I just don't agree with that. Grass-fed grass-finished red meat is the most nutrient dense food on the planet. If I were to eat one thing only for the rest of my life, hands down, it would be red meat.

But I heard store bought vegetables today even if organic are very different than the ones 30 plus years ago. The idea is nice but it’s wishful. We still should eat vegetables but they do not pack the same punch as they did years ago. Don’t get me started on wheat (yes whole wheat too). It’s been genetically modified up the wazoo since 1950. Wheat allergies have since then increased by a whopping 300%. Think twice about that Turkey and veggie whole wheat sandwich wrap. Especially regular veggies sprayed with roundup pesticides.
As far as meat goes, it depends on what kind. It’s more expensive but it makes a big difference for your health if you eat grass fed beef rather than non-grass fed beef. Organic is also much better so you can ditch all the hormones and antibiotics that would get in your system.
If you have grass fed organic beef having it more will not shorten your lifespan but you gotta read the label.

from my research 2 sea weeds have B12 that works on humans, Chlorella and Klamath lake sea weed. Chlorella also rich in vit D. Those 2 are proven that raise B12 levels on humans. They don't contain antagonist B12. I buy Chlorella from Pink sun, why? because they have info how much you are getting at 15 gr per day, they seem to have like a really high quality chlorella at a good price and the levels are huge. This way I cut fish like no problem. For me meat wasn't a big deal to stop eating never liked it since I was a kid, fish I like the taste and I would eat some before I became full vegetarian. After Chlorella I am good.

@@freepagan Chlorella doesn't have large amount of iodine. It is not harmful. This is why I prefer pinksun company it says what you take per 100 gr. I take 15 gr per day chlorella. I take only 15% the recommended iodine per day.

You can circumvent the fat in the meat problem at least by just eating some wild game (very lean) or going for the leanest cuts of meat you can get. Most of the hormones and toxins are in the fat anyway.
I can't get my head around the idea that fresh unprocessed meat is bad for us when it is literally THE food we had our biggest spike in brain and physical develop on in the entire history of our species. I've tried cutting meat out completely several times, whilst making sure I was eating lots of 'healthy' plant foods to make up the energy difference, and all I saw was lethargy, decreased mental and physical performance, and just an overall deterioration in well being.
BTW, Mtor is only stimulated by protein in muscle tissue. In many organs it's actually stimulated by insulin, not protein.

Yes, he pretty much did from the sound of it. At first he stopped the refined carbs and sugar which gave him good results. Then he stopped the meat eating and had better results. And then he stopped the dairy on top of that and had even better results.

People in different parts of the world have been known to live very long and rather well eating mostly quality meat, full milk, fish, rice or potatoes, butter, cream, eggs, porridge, olive oil, fish, berries, greens, ground grains, mushrooms, cocoa, coffee, tea, herbs etc. Even having a tipple and a cigar. Perhaps a part of it could be consuming mostly organic, healthy, non-processed foodstuffs, not leading a sedentary life-style, staying active and eating moderately. In American West a young person could, after a Thanksgiving Day turkey meal, walk the forests for three days straight, just drinking clear water on his way. Do the same now?
He does intermittent fasting and eat less. People who eat carnivorous diet also changed their health for good. Lots of vegetarian looks and are sick and weak. I think we need to go by our microbes and also by measuring the change and measuring our age like him. Lots of people on carnivorous diet are changing their numbers and getting healthier.
Cut down on milk and meats, I'm on it. Healthier me in the future, will thank myself. Good eating to all.

When i went dairy free my horrible period pains went away.
Any video that has a picture of a steak with a red x through it tells me all I need to know about the content. Dubious at best. There isn't much that's healthier than red meat.

Animal protein is a major problem, not animal fat.
Being small is an advantage to longevity. You are allowed only a certain number of heartbeats in your life. Your heart works less if you are short and thin.
Tell that to mice. They only live about a year. If you are short and thin like you say, then you will also have a smaller heart, so it is a wash.

It's interesting how Carnivores seem to have the same positive effects on their health. Lot's of videos online, with people going the carnivore-way, also monitoring the changes in their bodies, blood etc. and... getting phenomenaly positive results. To me that means, that actually is no "general truth" when it comes to diet. It might be more an individual thing.
The reason the carnivore keto diet has benefits is because of the avoidance of refined sugar and processed foods and processed meats.
I have a carnivore diet. I choose 100% organic ground beef Grass Fed and fish sometimes, make smoothies with blueberries and banana, and broccoli sprouts or brussel sprouts, Japanese matcha, chia seed and Spirulina, Chlorella powders and add plain organic Grass Fed yugort with pear juice no added refine sugars. I do have eggs from my own chickens in my breakfast Grass. I have lunch, but no Dinner. Take Quercetin daily and Fisetin vitamin D3 10,000 UI with K2 daily. Collagen plus whole food Vitamin C). Put dried apricots also in my smoothies if I have any.
Grass Fed and Non GMO feed to my chickens.
