Loyalty is great and all but I will never (or shall I say no longer) put loyalty above the well being of my family. A company is just that: a company. When times are lean, they will not hesitate in a reduction of force to stay afloat. Loyalty won't help you when a company decides that your position is no longer needed. Do what is best for you and your family.

Literally I have 3 days to make the same decision. So glad I found this.

      What was your decision?

Loyalty? They allowed you to continue to make money for them. That's why you moved across the country. Vs hiring another and hope they produce.

Needed this. I have the same similarity with that person on the phone. Decided to pursue advancement. People are always replaceable in the workforce. Talent can be replaced. Loyalty can be replaced. Loyalty is a good trait and your employer values that. You see it a different way but loyalty is something an employer or owner really does not see. They just want to make sure business is operational and everyone is doing their work. The only "loyalty" that every company is aware of is that their customers remain loyal to the services offered to them that generates your company income.

I left a company I loved to work in my desired field. The work was fine (a little boring but I still liked it). Leaders were genuine and environment fantastic. I miss it every day.
I got great experience now and love my work but sometimes I feel it wasn’t worth leaving the leaders in that previous job. They actually cared for their ppl and led by example. work life balance was great.
Now I job hopped 3 times… due to lacking culture and leadership. Plus overworking ppl so leaders get their fat bonuses while everyone else suffers.
I value high quality relationships more than anything so it depends on what you value. For me it wasn’t worth leaving excellent leaders bc those are hard to come by.
40+ hrs a week…. Is a lot of life to spend around ppl who don’t care for you (they are just nice to you bc they need you, and sometimes to take advantage of you).

Thank you so much for sharing your story! I really needed to read this. I'm in the same exact situation right now, and I really wished now that I took more time to evaluate what I valued in a workplace. What you wrote really resonated with me, thank you ❤

Sometimes companies pay more for lack of benefits or very poor benefits.

True. That is way undervalued. Especially with health insurance benefits and 401k matching. Sometimes the pay is higher but they don’t pay bonuses or have profit sharing.

Hello Thanks for the video, I need an advice here, I am having an offer from MNC tech. My current organisation is a small (1000 people) emerging Cloud Tech company. They are giving me a counter offer and I have been working here for the past 1 year and 3 months. The work environment is good and have a supportive boss.
India's MNC tech - will have more challenge, work life balance will not be good
Should I consider only brand value and move? or should I stay?
