All the things I’ve read about counteroffers is to never accept them.

When looking for a new job make sure you are targeting bigger more progressive companies who are known to take care of their employees. This way it becomes easy for you to turn down any form of counter offers.

I asked for a pay rise for increased responsibility and I was told no by my manager 3 times. I resigned , and the owner of the business reached to ask why, when I told him he approved the pay rise immediately. Should I stay? I believe my manager is about to leave the business.

I am baffled baffled baffledazzled with this notion of trust. What the heck, are we employees somehow evolving in the land of care bears and we should always protect our image of nice little things? We are first and foremost mercenaries working for a business. When requests for a payrise are either turned down and postponed, looking for another opportunity is essentially a response to that. It is a quite different reason than leaving a toxic environment or being bored of the job and seeing it as a dead end.

If only all business questions were that easy. A counter offer is like a girlfriend with an alcohol issue who you nagged for months to go to rehab and she wouldn't. When a girl without these problems agreed to date you, you dumped your alcoholic gf to date her instead. Your now ex gf promises she will finally go to rehab if you will dump the new gf and go back to her. I'm sure 99% of us would not even consider the 'offer'. Why will people accept the same from their boss? If you are quitting, you are quitting for a reason. If the pay is not fair for your skills and they wouldn't raise it until you resigned, what makes you think they intend to keep you at that rate long after a counter offer? If the culture is toxic, what makes you think this is really going to change? If the company is really disorganized or has severe communication issues, do you really think they are going to fix that just one pon resigned? If your boss is Don Quixote, is he really going to quit shoving you in the middle of unviable, reckless moon shots just because his Sancho quit being his squire? Nope. He is keeping you following him until he finds a replacement. Come on. I wasn't born yesterday.

Hello Thanks for the video, I need an advice here, I am having an offer from MNC tech. My current organisation is a small (1000 people) emerging Cloud Tech company. They are giving me a counter offer and I have been working here for the past 1 year and 3 months. The work environment is good and have a supportive boss.
India's MNC tech - will have more challenge, work life balance will not be good
Should I consider only brand value and move? or should I stay?

I think you nearly ansewered the questions youself "The work environment is good and have a supportive boss. India's MNC tech - will have more challenge, work life balance will not be good". Answer these questions, Are you willing to accept a work life balance that is more work? Do you need the challenge in your current career/work life, is it getting stale at your current place of work?
