Just heard this for the first time in a while on SiriusXM (Channel 50/The Groove) and had flashbacks to spring '91. The early 90s are kind of a lost era because these songs fit in more with what most people think of as an 80s sound than what they think of as a 90s sound. It's a shame Tara Kemp didn't get more recognition. Unlike quite a few of her contemporaries, she really had a great voice and deserved a better career.
I just heard it again today via IG and hadn't listened to it since way back then. Definitely more of a late 80s sound. This was definitely on repeat on my stereo
This song Hold You Tight by Tara Kemp takes me back to around my early teenage years (when I was somewhere between 11-14 years old). For whatever reason, this song reminds me in a brilliant way of the same carefree vibe as the Touch Me song by Cathy Dennis.
TARA KEMP 1st HOT 40 Billboard Charted Record is "Hold You Tight" and hits on 2/9/1991 at No. 3-1 Week for 15 Weeks and entered Gold on GIANT RECORDS (Time-Warner.)

Finally, I've found this song !! Therefore my 80's & 90's music collection is done (805 songs) and now i'm going to update my 1950's to 1970's music collection and my Old School hip hop/rap collection. 1991 was a great year!! 7th grade when this came out. 1980's and 1990's great times great times!!!
Eudocia Janampa I would agree to some degree. 1996 wasn't terribly bad. The 1997-99 period aka the late 90s were kinda bad. Music improved a little in the early 2000s. I'm going to say after 2007 was when music ultimately went downhill. And last but not least 2006 was a pretty bad year in music with 2005 being much better and improving a little in 2007. But from 2008 onwards yes music was downhill for, and that rule would go for at least most, if not all of, the music.
