09:13 Rumors say that Troi didn't like the -E or the -F, she always wanted the -D. XD ...but IMO, her "I'm not getting paid enough for this" face which Junkball used in another clip would have fit after that. Like the female equivalent of Picard's facepalm.
Yeah, Troi was the TNG character whose potential was used the least. For 95% of the series, other characters were "the captain", "the engineer", "the doctor" etc. while she was still "Ms. Pajama & Curly hair." The cringey comedy episodes like Menage a Troi didn't help that, but the real crime was in episodes where she COULD have been much more professional if the writers only let her. For example, one of the "disaster" episodes hit the Enterprise with a warp containment failure which would eventually release the antimatter and destroy the entire ship. Troi's line there is something like "What would happen if antimatter is released?", as an in-universe hook to make the engineer explain the dangers of antimatter to the audience. But that's probably the clumsiest line possible; one could have asked if it's possible to avoid total destruction somehow. (Only a few lines before, Troi clarified that she's a fully qualified Lt. Cmdr. and the highest ranking officer on the bridge, only to nuke her reputation with a question that's the 24th century equivalent of whether it's dangerous if a tank full of gas catches fire.) Long story short, hardly a screenwriter at that time knew how to write female professionals outside the medical field. And that's why I read that glance she gave Riker in the other scene as an OOC "I'm not getting paid enough for this BS." What she'd rather complain about is not the payment itself, but the shoddy scripts she had to act on. I'll try to find that video and timestamp later today.

"The popular notion that dogs only see in black and white is incorrect. Dogs can make out yellow and blue, and combinations of those colors" two cones vs. three cones of human vision.
Dog's are monochromats, cats are bichromats, and humans are generally trichromats. That is referencing the number of cones in the eye (1,2,3 or their density of cones), cones though do not just see A COLOR , they actually see a group of wavelengths ie a spectrum, that's why when a human is a bichromat, meaning they were born without 1 set of cones, they lose a whole set of color the most common being the ability to distinguish most of the green and yellow spectrum, so green tends to look like a blue to them. Cones in humans are usually called short, middle and long cones. referencing also the wavelength of light they react to. The long cone has a peak reaction to the 560nm wavelength, Medium peaks at 530nm, and Short, peaks at 420 nm, but they work on curves, they react in total to 564-580nm, 534-545n, and 420-440nm and there is a bit of an overlap when you look at the curves in all of them with the greatest overlap in M and L. People born without any cones and only having rods can see light but have no ability to define contrast between objects, and there are people with that. There's been some studies that some humans have Tetrachromancy, meaning they have 4 cones with the 4th cone displaying more vibrancy in the red spectrum so another form of long cone, but it is rare and supposedly more common in women and might allow them to experience up to an additional 100 million colors, where as most humans can distinguish 1 million colors. They suspect that 12% of women might be tetrachromats.
@@trekkiezero "Wrong, if you correct someone get it right: "...measurements of increment-threshold spectral sensitivity functions and direct tests of color matching indicate that the dog retina contains two classes of cone photopigment. These two pigments are computed to have spectral peaks of about 429 nm and 555 nm. The results of the color vision tests are all consistent with the conclusion that dogs have dichromatic color vision." Jay Neitz, Timothy Geist and Gerald Jacobs; Color vision in dog; Visual Neuroscience (1989) DOI: 10.1017/S0952523800004430
It would be impossible for _any_ creature to see in black and white, since white represents the combination of the entire spectrum (red, green and blue), and if you could see the whole spectrum then you would see in colour! :-)

You never know. CBS might relinquish or recognize some "canon" with its STO licensee ... to ensure ongoing revenue from a languishing franchise ... to mitigate the fragmentation of the "toxic" Trek fanbase. They've passed the point of steamrolling their petulant, dismissive, insulting approach. Now they're looking more carefully at the money and trying to sell what people actually want to buy.

@Jason Lee Trater _Ent-G_ could be any class featured in _STO_ , but most likely a cruiser of some kind, because it's always one of the 'big guns.' Even though it might be cool, a pilot or tactical escort probably wouldn't be given the name. Hm. An Alliance cruiser would be cool. _AFS Enterprise_ , registry NCC-1707-G. It's a Khitomer-class starship, a true collaboration between the UFP, the Klingon Empire, Romulan Republic, and the Dominion -- and therefore an expression of the Khitomer Alliance's hopes and aspirations for the future. Of course, the Romulan Republic doesn't exist in _STP_ . I couldn't even tell you if the Romulan Star Empire exists in it.
Nope, they would've signed a treaty that would ban the use of them because it gave them an unfair advantage vs the romulans... just like they did with the cloaking devices....

I can’t believe you’ve made 100 episodes. Congratulations. It’s been both fun and insightful watching them.
Man I found your videos about 4 years ago when i was going through some shit. Your wit helped me through it. great to finally put a face to the voice. wishing you every continued success. Thank you and LLAP
I hope things are going better now. I'm glad I could help. Take care, man.
Thank goodness they using this for the final season

@@thecianinator I expected a dress shirt pocket protector and glasses with tape holding them together. Lol joking. I was just describing Gilbert and Lewis from Revenge of the Nerds.
I always thought he sounded a lot like Ferris Bueller, and it turns out he looks a lot like him too!
Now it's canon. So congrats to the fan who designed this.
I came to say this. Can't wait to. See how it's adapted into main Canon!
That fan is the luckiest guy in the star trek fandom.
Oh i think he would have been much happier if they would have talked to him before they released the show. Sounds like he was as suprised to see her as the rest of us. He should have gotten money, an entry in the credits and a "thank you message" in the end scenes.@@CalvinNoire
@@joesheridan95 I think i agree aswell.
Always a good day when a Junkball video appears!! Thanks for being one of the best Trek TH-camrs, and for showing off the Enterprise F!

Actually drive a 2005 Odyssey when is the best vehicles I’ve ever had very comfortable got the V6 VTEC engine which has a lot of power and it has so many hidden compartments it’s a smuggler’s dream and I have an enterprise F hanging off the rearview mirror
I really love the look of the Odyssey and would love to have it canonized. Every single aspect of it screams Starfleet in its prime.
I agree, it just feels like something that could be in a series. The closest we've gotten is the Picard Countdown comics, but we now we know that Countdown comics aren't canon (Data being Captain of the Enterprise in 2387).
I mean it's more official Beta-canon now after Picard's last command in the prequel comics ended up being one.
@@gabeweisdorfer6353 Can we even coun´t anything post the destruction of Romulus canon anymore? It seems after that pretty much everything claiming to be canon is contradicting eachother constantly.

I thought I saw a ton of these in the Picard finale? Or very very similar at any rate (slightly capped bussard collectors I noticed)
9:10 " speaking of fitting things into each other , we go all the way back to the rear "
Congratulations on 100 videos! Fantastic content as always!
I'll bet gold pressed latinum that the Klingon Empire did a land grab after Romulus got wiped out.
The Excelsior Class had a thick, armoured neck, and low profile so it wouldn't make a tall profile target. , yet Star Fleet later dis continued the neck, because you could take the neck out easily in a fight.
That orville burn at the end!! *chef's kiss*
@@trekkiezero "Wrong, if you correct someone get it right:
"...measurements of increment-threshold spectral sensitivity functions and direct tests of color matching indicate that the dog retina contains two classes of cone photopigment. These two pigments are computed to have spectral peaks of about 429 nm and 555 nm. The results of the color vision tests are all consistent with the conclusion that dogs have dichromatic color vision."

@@HVM_fi Ah I see what you mean, and it wasn't intended so much as a correction as an expansion on what you were saying. Apologies.
@@HVM_fi Should have added are usually considered*, dogs are bichromats cats are actually trichromats.
It would be impossible for _any_ creature to see in black and white, since white represents the combination of the entire spectrum (red, green and blue), and if you could see the whole spectrum then you would see in colour! :-)
Has to be one of my favorite designs in Star Trek next to the intrepid class, I would probably have it named the Ulysses or the Odysseus. I love smaller ships but if I had to choose a larger ship this would be the one, hell this ship might supplant the intrepid class as my favorite design

11:23 Not kidding when I click on this video I was hoping to see a moment were you wonder if those consoles were fill with holographic rocks:P
Since the Odyssey Class made an appearance in the Picard tie in comic, I have some hope that the ship class will appear at some point in the series.
Same but at this point i am wondering if all STO ships can be used by CBS cuz the tie in comic also has the Tier-6 Inter Warbird that was developed in 2410 by the Romulan Republic when the story of STO takes you to the Delta Quadrant.
Love how your style has come together throughout all your videos. I dig the synthwave/80's music and all the little comedy references in each video!
Cool, you use Final Cut!
I’m barely a novice though. I recall how you color correct some 8-bit game captures to turn the grays to blacks. I don’t even know how to find those functions. 😕

@@Krytern Not true. I don't mind new or different. The problem is that the JJ movies are not great, Discovery was terrible, and Picard was a giant disappointment.

Looks pretty cool honestly id be hqppy if that is the offiical next enterprise
I was expecting some mention of the fact that the Odyssey Class was used as the design of the USS Verity in the Picard prequel comic.
Maybe he hasn't seen that comic. I haven't read it, even though I know about the _Verity_ . Cryptic even put a variant design into _STO_ for the Legendary Oddy. How considerate.
I was just gonna comment on that when I found your post. I read the comic and is a canon tie-in. The USS Verity is indeed an Odyssey-class ship Picard used 14 years before the show date.
Congratulations on 100 videos and Fans that Appreciate your work! Good luck on your next 100 and hopefully I'll be there for them too!

I really like the design of the Odyssey Class! I hope its going to be the official necks Enterprise! Its looks cool and a good evolution of the big E.
I have the same shirt and Thank you!!!! Happy 100!!! Its so cool to be a part of this!
How many impluse exhausts do you want?
Cryptic: Yes.
Only because when the saucer section detached from the E, there were no impulse engines on the secondary hull, only the saucer

Going through the back catalog of your videos because they are so good. As always, looking forward to the next!
I wonder if them ships have that sort of Armor/Shielding Voyager had when fighting the Borg in the last episodes
Nope, they would've signed a treaty that would ban the use of them because it gave them an unfair advantage vs the romulans... just like they did with the cloaking devices....

Thanks for the look ahead, it is different but not to much I don't do online so it will have to wait till it comes to TV OR MOVIE
2:00 welp, then we do have a continuity mistake in the Picard Countdown Comic where Admiral Picard was in command of an Odyssey Class ship.
He commanded the fleet from an odyssey class vessel, that is subtlety different from saying he commanded the vessel itself
It’s the equivalent of saying the governor of a state is also the mayor of its capital city. Even in Catholicism where the pope is also the Cardinal of the Vatican he traditionally nominated a Cardinal to oversee its administration
Congratulations on this milestone I'm looking forward to the next ones
Its canon now!!!!!!!
Man, your vids are true sci-fi therapy. Keep doing what you're doing!
Congrats on the milestone! Never been a fan of the F’s dual neck design. It just seems like a waste not to have a neck all the way across. It’s lost ship volume.
OTOH, it does allow a small ship like a shuttlecraft to hide "inside" the ship to dodge enemy fire.
I actually like the two neck design
Happy 100th video!

Yes looks elegant and sharp. The Constitution Refit it's my absolute Fav and I like Discovery
Very, very nice. A massive improvement over the Enterprise-E. I always felt that the Sovereign-class was a major letdown following as it did one of the most iconic starship designs in all of Trekdom in the Galaxy-class and it's nice to see some of those design cues return for this iteration.
