I must say it made me kinda sad to think there was a time when these guys would have been selling out arenas. Don’t get me wrong I’m glad I can appreciate their work on TH-cam but this level of musicianship deserves more than what the music industry offers nowadays.
Everybody always compliments the guitarist, but that bassist needs more love. Dude absolutely slays the groove on every song.

We need to send out some love to the people engineering this. There are a lot of moving pieces to doing a recording like this but whomever has been managing the Main Squeeze sound is on point. And not just this, their sound is always consistently good.

I have shown your “Have a Cigar” cover in a lesson for my jazz band kids to show how to play around the soloist as a rhythm section and sure enough you guys do it again with this one. Incredible work to everyone in the group and a big shout out to Mr. Walker on bass. It’s very evident that this band understands that the bassist drives the bus. I can’t say it enough, great work.

Agreed. And it's because their covers aren't straight up recitals of the original work - they let their own talents and personality seep in. Pink Floyd is one of those bands you usually consider un-coverable, yet here's The Main Squeeze killin' it again.

These guys play renditions of songs. Covers are the songs played exactly how it was written and not straying from it. A rendition is when you add your own spice to that shit and main squeeze definitely adds their blend of 11 herbs and spices to the songs they play. They capture the soul and emotion and thats what makes their renditions so awesome 👌 👏

Yeah someone here commented that if the guitar player had been born in the '60s he would've inspired generations with the level of feeling and emotion in his playing - I agree, David Gilmour certainly has! Lol
That being said, I am not detracting at all from Maximilian's playing. Having heard his other solos, he is probably one of very few on Earth that I'd trust to play one just as good, and I would've have loved to hear his take on it!
Shame they didn't stick with the original drum intro. Kinda took the shine off a bit for me(but that's only my opinion)

I think the rhythm and maybe even the lead may have been played on the Bill Lewis guitar he used popularly on in Meddle and DSOTM. It's similar to an SG, double cut and short scale. If you plug a gibson into a silicon fuzz and roll the volume back, you get that crunchy zingy smouldering sustained tone. Either way I think the fuzz is essential
replace the strat for an SG, yes please.
Apparently the solo from another brick in the wall pt.2 has been recorded on a Les Paul with p90's, and not on the famous black strat. Can't tell if this is 100% legit, but I've read that many times

At 3:59 you can here a noise difference in the last vocals. It's almost like a different volume. Listen to 3:50 until 4:00. And tell me if you don't notice something different.

Floyd was always my favorite growing up and there is no doubt the remaining members of Pink Floyd as well as Alan Parsons would appreciate the level of quality in this set!! Holy wow, this brought back so many memories of the band. And the whole theme, vibe and artists resurrected the "pink floyd" feel so beautifully. Loved every second of it. Hats off man... HATS OFF!
This performance made my 13 yr old son go nuts about Pink Floyd. Yeah, when dad listens to it meh... but when it's live and mind blowing, he thinks he just found the band of the century.
In not a big fan of the original, but this is 5 stars. These guys are awesome.

Tbh the production on this is much better than Floyd's. Obviously a 50 year leap in audio technology will do that but I'm sure he'll visit the rest of TDSOTM after hearing this.
@@JakoTheWacko Yeah exactly, this definitely has a much better sound quality about it. I'm sure we all know how discouraging it is as a kid to try and intake old media. The audio is all fuzzy and crackly, tv is in black and white. Some people learn to appreciate that stuff in time, but it makes sense for a kid to turn a deaf ear but respond to this.

I discovered The Main Squeeze about 3 years ago and I can't get enough of them. I listen to them every morning. Every cover they do is BETTER than the original. Especially love their Zeppelin covers.
