@@caitycore ehh it took me a bit to even give them a shot but 3 days after deciding to actually listen to them I bought all 3 albums and figured out exactly what all the hype is about. Sleep Token has made the word artist actually mean something again.
Vessel (the vocalist) is a classicaly trained pianist and multi-instrumentalist, and does most of the writing and recording besides the drums

If you want some more sleep token I'd say Nazareth, Jaws, Hypnosis, Atlantic, Higher, Alkaline, the night does not belong to god.
Blood sport is another fantastic song, they have two versions, studio and a stripped back piano and vocal version (called from the room below).

I first heard the sexy jazz part on Instagram, I thought it was just another trendy song, but then I watched this video and was pleasantly surprised it came from a metal song. This song is popular within the metal pole dancing community and for good reason.

You have a good point about the nostalgia. So many people have sworn they have heard his voice before. But they havent. But the music itself is nostalgic at times, both in the yearning, and the classical elements.
There's the whole sleep lore and that remembering thing makes me wonder if people have heard his voice in their dreams.

I just want to ask if you have do you notice allot of similarities in the context of songs from each of them I'm thinking that sleep has also visited chino as well or am I crazy?
@Tracy Raines I love Crosses and I like Digital Bath. I've put Deftones on in the bg a lot lately when I'm doing ST diets and in the mood to branch out. I still haven't really reached a saturation point with them yet. They do have a similar sound to me though and I call them my stepping stones to Sleep Token. I had thought Crosses was the "it" of music I'd been searching for for a while, but it was definitely ST. A Perfect Circles Counting Bodies also felt like a stepping stone.
Maybe some musicians do have similar dreams when asleep.

And that's one Sleep Token magic trick.
For example Take Me Back To Eden chorus is repeated thrice and every iteration is a reborn version.
Sleep Token is one of the most musicilly talented bands I've ever heard. From the singer all the way back to their drummer. No one is carrying the band, it's all of them or nothing works as harmoniosly as it does. They've seriously been so underrated for so long that I'm like always happy seeing new people get into their songs especially with these newer ones being as diverse as they are. All of their music has a good connection to a lot of modern musical roots as they pay a lot of tribute to the genres that made rock music what it is today as well as most pop. The lead is a classicallly trained musician and Pianist/singer with a personal channel I won't disclose due to the band trying to keep it anonymous, but take my word for it that his solo stuff is heart wrenching and soul touching in the best way. He is amazing and they all have their own instagram. Vessel I through IV all showcase the band each of their own musical instrument breakdowns and solo pics for fans. They're amazing idk what else to say cause I can go all day and explain how verse they are and how their music is truly refreshing in the metal scene. We needed some funk and classical music to bring it back to where it all came from.
I hope you don't think it's who it sounds like your talking about cuz vessel doesn't have his own TH-cam channel the only TH-cam channel of his previous stuff is a duo not him alone. So if you talking about the duo then your probably right but if you think he has he own channel then you don't have the right guy
I only said this cuz you said solo work cuz he didn't have solo work but his previous work is great breaking and beautiful and will make you cry and you can tell it's him and you will know by the lyrics cuz you hear them in some of the sleep token songs

@@pushpopLoC909 it's not Jordan hunt if that is who you think it is I can tell you that for sure. It's pretty much out there now cuz a journalist apparently got someone to talk. I found out by check the song writing credits and at first I was taken to Jordan and thought it was him for a while but they actually don't sound that much alike and his lyrics aren't nearly as dark as vessel but the other guy you will know it's his lyrics cuz you hear some of the same lines in sleep token songs now

The Summoning seems to have garnered more popularity than the other new songs and at first it was my favourite as well, but now I prefer the others. The thing about Sleep Token is they're so versatile, it takes multiple listens to a few of their songs to really get them. Definitely make sure you react to the other new songs they put out. And.. Maybe all their songs if you have time 😅

I've been listening to them for about 4 years and they have completely taken over my life since hahaha.
But they are very much definitely not a metalcore band.
I would class them as progressive metal with pop elements, their songs are so diverse and they borrow elements from so many different genres.
I'm subbing and hoping for more Sleep Token reactions.

They don't really fit in any category, if you listen to their albums you'll see how versatile they are.
And they are not a new fad lol they've been underground for years, just now catching attention. Not because they weren't worth it before, but their music was artistically beyond the scope of what people tend to listen to. But with their recent album they've harnessed a bit more of a coverall sound that is catching people's attention a bit more.
I'm also recently diving into sleep token. They really sound "different" but i'm still on that phase of "do i really like it or not?"
My favourite song by them so far is jaws. Just because of that little background sample that runs through the whole song.

Sleep Token does so many different type of genre's. From metal to pop to electric and the list can go on and on. You need to check out their older stuff.
A great song of theirs to listen to with the lights off and just absorb is When the Bough Breaks. One of the things I love about Sleep Token is they allow the music to breath and build.
I’ve been into Sleep Token for a few years now. For newer stuff you’ll love Granite. The older ones I like are Nazareth, Jaws, and pretty much any song off of the Sundowning album.

My guess is they reminded you of Hozier! I've seen people drawing a lot of comparisons between them, both for the sound of their voices and for the lyrical style, with religious metaphors for love and describing relationships as acts of worship.

That last part of the song always gives me Arctic Monkeys vibes. Could that maybe be the band you were thinking of when you heard the groovy, jazzy, seductive parts?
