My first experience from them was The Offering back in 2020. They were on a spotify playlist and I would always enjoy the song but the singer threw me off. I finally decided to deep dive into their catalog and the singer is now my favorite singer in music. What Vessel is doing vocally and musically (he is the pianist/song composer as well as vocalist) is really unlike anything I've ever heard! The Summoning will take you on a rollercoaster of a musical ride, but they're really more of a mellow band for the most part.

The way I see it, Sleep Token is taking ideas that the prog metal has been toying with for years and... just doing it better, mostly, and I say that as a prog fan. It's like there's a cycle every decade or so where someone snatches all the weird experimental ideas and turns it all into something that could get on the radio. (At least Aqua Reiga could lol)
Vore from their new album Take me Back to Eden is pretty heavy and Vessel does a lot of screaming in that one. Also, Higher has an amazing breakdown and some great screams as well. All of their albums and songs are amazing!

No one is awesome as you are when a metal fan reacted to everything and being genuine in love with all kinds of music. I recently discovered Sleep Token as well. You should listen to the Summoning, Hypnosis, Higher, the Offering, The Night Does Not Belong To God, Ascesionism, Take Me Back To Eden ... Oh gosh ... Believe me that you shall find their music is so amazingly different and complex, and also not to forget the skills of the Drummer. Oh dear Vessel II is an awesome drummer. He plays those drums as if he plays the piano. Every notes hits just right.❤
