Those screens are pretty awesome. Makes you feel like you are in a tunnel with screens on each side. Some real universal magic. The tour guide was an absolute delight though.
Universal didn't invent that. Disney was using that technology in the 70's. Search for "If you had wings" attraction video and you'll see what I mean.
Floridafanatic28 ok, but who uses them in ALL their rides and who uses them sparingly? 😒 that’s why they said “Universal Magic”. The last couple of rides they’ve opened that weren’t Hagrid’s bikes were screen based.
@Ash Settle Uh dude? Universal Studios Hollywood IS a theme park that also happens to hold the sets for films as well. It has a lot of the same or similar attractions that Universal Orlando has, like this for example: The King Kong and Fast and Furious sections are their own separate attractions in Orlando.

Re-read my previous comment; I said it was a studio as well. It's both, as is Orlando. Orlando has multiple soundstages on property that have been and are being used to shoot shows or films. Currently they are shooting something called "The Right Stuff", but I couldn't tell you more than that.
I agree. If the lines separating the screens weren’t there I think it would be a bit better. Not trashing so don’t give me hate anybody. Opinions exist. But it would improve the ride
it's pretty fun at night. Funnest thought was during Halloween Horror Nights and they allowed you to walk behind some of those attractions. Still one of the best experiences I've had.
yeah, during horror nights you get to walk through the original bates motel and war of the worlds set with the big passenger jet crashed in the small community. really cool and easily worth going to universal for halloween
some the buildings actually have a designed interior that you can go in to see a lot of the behind the scenes, it’s pretty cool.
Though I wish the War of the Worlds set had just a smidge more. Like maybe one of those littler alien robot things.
I wish we could do that on certain days besides horror nights. It would be fun to do that during the day with out a bunch of people screaming next to you. To tour the behind the scenes style is so cool

The shark flopping on the beach was more believable than the Fast and Furious part. The person who designed that part had to be home by 3 that day.

The projections for the Jurassic Park and Western area have actually been there for a few years. The park rarely does night tours so lots of people are thinking it’s new. It’s not new but it does look good!
4:19 there's a reason why it's raining during dinosaur scenes. When you cover a CGI model in water it has a wet skin which has a more believable reflected light than a dry skin. These days ray-tracing technology allows for realistic lighting of any skin type but in the original Jurassic Park, the only way to make a believable T-Rex was to render it soaked in water.

@MaximusPrime XY some scenes, not all. The rain scene was CGI. There's a short documentary on this on TH-cam.
The rain scene was both CGI and animatronic, the shots with the Rex's full body were CG the rest animatronic. Apparently the material they made the Rex animatronic out of was absorbent so they had to clean the thing between every take because it kept taking on all the water. xD

New generations will never know the magic of the animatronics! I mean, can you remember the expectation of being attacked by a giant King Kong? Can you remember the fear of getting sunken in the Shark ride?
I was a little 5 year old in 1988 when my dad took me to Universal. I cried at the King Kong part. He said as soon as the ride was over, I wanted to go again and again. haha.
The shark was a better actor than everyone in the Fast and the furious video.

@@sharkiemc6783 - You need to get higher standards if you think that very stupid Fast & The Furious is better than Jaws. You can take any of those movies, cut them up and splice them together into different movies and they will still look the same. There is nothing in those movies that has not been done hundreds of times before them.

@@ButtBongoFiesta: Bruce use to come a lot closer to the tram and would motion like he would bite you, now the animatronic keeps its distance and stays in a straight line.

I so hate that the tram bridge over the Jaws lagoon doesn't tilt towards the water anymore when the pier gets pulled away. That always added so much to the experience and put you closer to the shark.
That Dinosaur scene looks really Realistic even though those are just effects

I went on Saturday almost a week ago, and I have to say Jurassic World is so much better at night. I went on the Tour around sunset and it was beautiful. The only thing I have to complain about is that in the Tour, the Norman Bates coming for the bus is no longer a thing :( it's very sad
Avjinder Dool oh man, that sucks! Maybe it was just that day? Hopefully. I went in June and he was there, but I seem to remember him not being there before other times I’ve gone. Really looking forward to going on Jurassic World. Hope you got to go on Transformers, and if you did you liked it. I LOVE that ride, I don’t get why I do, I haven’t even seen the movies 🤦♀️. But the Transformers outside that talk to people are so awesome, and I just always have so much fun on that ride.

@@GabrielTheMagolorMain maybe they dont have an actor out later out in the day? me and and my family went on the tram at around 12 noon, you don't see the screens animated either when it comes to sets as far as I recall so when i saw this i was like woah different experiences.

ImperialGamer5 I remember the first time my family went in like 2016. I was so pumped to ride that ride only to figure out it had closed a year or so ago. I wasn't really informed about things at Universal at the time though so meh.

I had a dream of a mechanical Jaws swimming in a pool. People kept daring each other to get in. And when a person did get in, the Jaws theme started playing and the mechanical shark started swimming towards any swimmer in the pool. In the dream, my mom wanted me to get in the pool -_-

Wow, that gas tanker coming down is terrible! I remember in the late 90's or early 2000's that there would be great sound design and huge explosions. Funny that they talk about sound design when they failed so bad.
I still miss the Jaws ride in Universal Orlando I’m so happy and grateful that I got to go on it once I remember it very vividly

Jason Thomas I did one once but they seem to be more available when it becomes night earlier in the day. They change a few things with lighting and the Jurassic park part is probably the best at night.
Gary Dunn the lighting on many of the sets makes a huge difference, I think. The whole tour just seems to have a different atmosphere during the dark.

My mom took me on this ride a couple years ago, we thought it was just a tram ride like Disney had and well...I became afraid of trams after that. I thought everything was real so real dinosaur and an actual earthquake.

I am happy to see the Earthquake ride got a new home in Hollywood. I remember it when it first opened in Orlando when I was a kid. I remember the tanker and water scared the crap out of me.

dasutobani We went last December and I was a bit disappointed to find that it wasn't. I don't think it was there this time either. Maybe they're doing work, it just wasn't working, maybe I missed it, or maybe it's gone. It's crazy how we could be upset that something like that is gone.
