I grew up in LA & would go to universal as a kid all the time with my grandma & we’d always go on the tram ride every time we went. my dad lived across the street at one point (he worked on sets like American Ninja Warrior)& when I’d see him we’d go walk over to universal. memories of constantly hanging out at the city walk with my friends. In high school I’d get season passes every year. Every time I went, we’d always go on the tram ride. it’s been years cause I moved away, watching this just makes me feels so warm inside, so nostalgic. even the theme park music. Thank you for this

This was really well done! My son is a set dresser. He loves to drive the cart all over the studios when he's there. He's even sent me pics of inside some of these house facades. The Psycho house is actually filled with lumber and a bunch of cables for lighting. Very cool to see!

Oh, god how my family HATES the Fast Furious part. And heaven forbid they need to stretch time and they show you a bunch of video of the actors... acting. Just awful. "Do you know how long it took me to iron this shirt??"
The tour is 1 hr now? Wow. Back in the late 70s it was 6-7 hours long - an all day event. You'd get off the tram a couple times during the tour and get to go in to see some cool shows, walk through the prop room, or walk some streets/sets. Times sure have changed.
Being... OLD I remember the old studio tour which was far more immersive. Once it turned into an amusement park, a lot of the magic as far as the tour has been lost.
This was a great tour. It's changed a lot since I've been there. I wish I could go again. HOWEVER, I have to say that I am DEEPLY AND VERY UPSET that you went down Wisteria Lane and DIDN'T MENTION THE MUNSTER HOUSE. ITS ONLY ONE OF UNIVERSAL'S MOST FAMOUS AND POPULAR TV SHOWS. I'm saddened by that. That show should never be forgotten.
It is mentioned on the tour sometimes! It depends on the guide. I've been on tours when they didn't mention Hitchcock's old office! It's different every time.
I've been on the Studio Tour with my parents 7⃣years ago in May 2016 for a vacation to Universal Studios Hollywood which is located in Los Angeles, CA, of course. It helped me get the idea about how movies and TV shows were made for show business. 🥳🥳
I have only done this tour once, in 1990 and it was soooooo different. Better, I think. LOL. There was this part with a bridge and it was rigged to "break" as you drove over it and it felt so real and looked so real and it scared the ever loving shit out of me. 😂

Not what it used to be. Who remembers the Batllestar Gallactica experience? The generic lasers flying around inside the ship? I miss that and the Six-million dollar man tunnel. The orginal King Kong experience was better too. The tour is still fun, but not the same.
I did this tour in 1994 and although we didn't have the TV screens on the trams where we could see clips or the tour guide, the guide cracked a lot of jokes and the illusions (ie. the rolling tunnel) were more entertaining IMO
I get bad motion sickness and the King Kong part looks intense how would u rate it ?? I need to know I’m going next week , like what would I be compared too ??
King Kong and Fast and Furious will probably both give you issues. I would compare it to a screen based motion simulator like Star Tours or Minion Mayhem. You might want to take something for motion sickness on the day of your visit because Universal rides do tend to make people motion sick. Good luck.
I've always wondered...like that is a working backlot, right? If something is filming at one of the houses does the tram still go by? Does it take a different route? Or do they just turn off the loudspeaker and tell everyone to be quiet?
This tour was unique in that there was nothing filming that day so we got the must complete tour I've probably ever personally had on the backlot. Usually the tram might skip a whole area, and it hardly ever goes by the courthouse. When you pass the area, the video sound and tour guide are silent, but people on the tram are allowed to talk normally. Yes! Anyone can hop in line like any other attraction. There is also a VIP Tour for an additional cost which is a smaller tram, longer tour, and you can actually get out and walk around. But this version is included with admission.
The Fast and Furious part didn't scare me that much as a kid. I just thought of it of a roller coaster for some reason. 😕 Also for Jupiter's Claim, they should make some sort of hydraulic mechanism to lift up the tram a bit. Hidden underneath the sand to make it look like the tram is being lifted by Jean Jacket.
There's no filming on The Minions or The Simpsons. You can't be holding anything on The Mummy but I think filming is technically allowed if you have a Go Pro or something.

I believe it was filmed in the morning but in was an overcast day in early January, which is actually ideal light for filming because the light is filtered evenly. But if you are there on a sunny day in person, it is beautiful as well. Really can't beat the views here in any weather.
Hi guys,hope you’re all well ,very interesting on the AbNb we also had a villa from a super host on highlands reserve golf resort in 2022 October which we prefer to stay now as we’ve had DiBB villas before and really like the homely feel of the resort,but as you said do your homework and build up that all important rap-pour with the host she was really super friendly and let’s us stay for free during tropical storm Nicola as the drive to Tampa would of been interesting ,we wouldn’t hesitate booking again with her,looking forward to the renovations

They get a lot more riders and visitors now at universal. I don’t think 6-7 hour tours would work because of this

Wish we had this one in Florida. But when I visited this park I had so much fun and enjoyed this ride.
I wish there was still a working studio in Florida like in the days of Nickelodeon in the 90s!
But overall Florida has better stuff tbh, the Harry Potter world is way better in Florida, and better rides.
My favorite parts are definitely the Psycho house and the Jaws parts!
The part with the 747 is insanely impressive as well, just the scale of it.
