Not a single coaster is this thrilling, well themed, and smooth at the same time. Many rides do one or two of those very well, but Velocicoaster does all three spectacularly, nothing touches it. I really wish this video credited Intamin for doing an amazing job manufacturing the track and trains, but kudos to universal for coming up with a creative story for the ride and the incredible job everyone did squeezing this big thrilling coaster into the park the way they did!
Come to Europe and check out FLY or Taron in Phantasialand. Both are amazing themed, have two launches and are thrilling as hell.

The fact that they came up with a custom-designed _smell_ for the raptors as you pass by them in the queue just makes you appreciate the level of (and attention to) detail even more (😀).

This may sound completely off topic but I get an overflow of joy when I see people doing what they were clearly meant to do in life. When they saw the coaster fly for the first time, I teared up! What a legacy for each member of the crew!
Universal is catching up to be the top spot against all of Disneyworld if they continue with these attractions. Hagrid's and VelociCoaster excel all expectations of what an amazing attraction should be. Epic Universe may be the tipping point with this high level of execution

You can ask for a private tour on a non busy day and they will give you a sneak peek and backstory on the attraction.
Universal has now set the standard on what a great theme park should be! Love you guys! You know how to do it right. Disney is years behind you and shaking in their boots. It’s great.
Let's not get ahead of ourselves here. This coaster is not that amazing, and outside of Jurassic Park and Harry Potter, Universal kind of blows.
Jacob Werman I would agree. Disney is very much still the industry leader, but Universal’s attractions and development over the past couple years have been much better than disney’s.

This video seems to forget to mention Intamin at all... the closest they get to mentioning them is when they say the track and trains where built in Europe.
@@lancehutch I noticed that too, I don’t doubt a lot of the creative story telling and such came from Universal’s end but they didn’t credit Intamin at all in this video for the great work they did in manufacturing the track
@Spike S The layout was designed by someone at Universal I believe, but other than that it was all Intamin. Seems weird to not even acknowledge them, especially as the relationship between them should be very good.
@Spike S It varys from park to park and project to project, some cases it's Intamin doing all the layout work, sometimes the park makes it clear what elements they would like to see and with Univseral here, they made it clear the layout they wanted. Intamin then just had to engineer it really + some minor tweaks to make it perfect. But to make a doc about a ride and not mention the company that literally made it happen? weird.
Very true. Intamin deserves a lot of credit here. There's no way B&M would've or could've built the track for this ride with their big box track twisting and bending every direction. And if Mack rides or vekoma built it, the launches wouldn't be nearly as powerful and the ride wouldn't have been as thrilling. Also Intamin is known to build pretty much anything the park wants.
Mario is the perfect spokesperson for this presentation! Much better casting than what Disney did with the Star Cruiser videos! Great job Universal! Can't wait to ride it!

@@jalapeno1119 It looks nice, that's not the problem. The problem is that they hardly ever add anything to it. Sure, they are doing a lot of work in overall refurbishment and (re)new(ed) rides at Walt Disney Studios, but when the expansion plan has been done they'll only have expanded the "ride menu" of the resort with just one attraction: Frozen. Disneyland Park hasn't had an additional ride since Space Mountain in 1995!
@@EspenSGX and they closed their best coaster in the resort, the Rock'n'roller coaster, for years only to retheme it to Marvel instead of leaving it as it was and adding a new coaster.
@@brittariedel3446 I don't mind the retheme at all. It could have used one, as it definitely isn't a pinnacle of Imagineering. But yes, a new rollercoaster at the resort would be welcome. I could see the TRON rollercoaster adjacent to Discoveryland on the other side of the berm where the Pizza Planet restaurant was. Lots of room there. For all I care they demolish the backside of Fantasyland (Alice's labyrint and/or the storybook boatride and Dumbo kiddy coaster) for the Seven Dwarves Mine Train. But above all, I absolutely do not get why Walt Disney Studios' Frozen land isn't immediately getting the sleigh ride coaster Hong Kong is getting. And on where now is the extremely lackluster Cars Road Trip there better come a Radiator Springs Racers in the future! That's not a rollercoaster, but it's kind of adjacent.
Major Disney fan here coming to say major kudos on this ride! You doubled down on guest experiences and quality original work during the pandemic… can’t say that about Disney. Can’t wait to ride it myself!
I have a few things to say about this attraction
1) thank you to all the great minds who made this project come to life (and thank you for making this video for all the people like me who want to be part of an attraction’s planning team in the future)
2) I rode this in July 2021, about a month after opening. I was really surprised to see a new coaster when I got there (it was a surprise trip) and then was super bummed when it was only test running that morning. But it opened up! The hour combination I spent in line, on the attraction, and the post-reaction was one of the best hours of my entire life. The que was so immersive that the wait flew by. And then the attraction. Wow.
3) I can’t put into words how this attraction made me feel, but I cried what I’m going to say “tears of joy”. As a roller coaster enthusiast who has rode many coasters in my lifetime, it was something I had never experienced before and that went above and beyond any current rating I had.
Overall, I cannot wait to be back in Universal Orlando again in May to ride my favorite coaster!
Disney should take notes
They should take note not only with the ride but with the child swapping system. Universal has a family room while the other member are on the ride, then the parent can swap without waiting again in line. With Disney i had to wait outside for my fam member to come out, then i get to the lightning lane but still need to wait in line.
As someone whos always been a little scared of coasters, being told to ride this ride was the BEST thing ever. Velocicoaster was my FIRST ever major coaster and I'd do it all again! The ride, the feel, the scenes before after and during the ride were AMAZING. Thank you so much for this ride! I CANNOT WAIT to go back and ride this again!
This ride was my 9-year-old son's first roller coaster. He brags to his friends about going again and riding it over and over. He can't wait to come back!
Universal will always be on top
This looks epic. Universal always had that great mix of theming and good quality roller coasters. As if Disney and Six Flags had a baby.
Very impressive! Having been a pre-opening and grand opening member of the Universal Studios Florida team it’s gratifying to see the success they’ve enjoyed after our trail blazing entry into the world’s most prominent theme park market. Orlando is fortunate to have both Disney and Universal as cornerstones of their product portfolio. Two iconic, creative world class brands.

Universal Orlando Resort is Epic. Rather then Disney is a rip off, thank you Universal Orlando Resort for showing us this video.
The prices for food is more expensive than Disney though.
I don't care about the price of food at Universal because I am more of a Harry Potter fan than a Disney fan, and also I am loaded with money.
It’s unfair to compare them specially when their niche audience is clearly different, universal is for older people. Thrill rides are WAY better at universal, but Disney does a beautiful job at worldbuilding, tho… Epic Universe is closer to being open and I bet that will definitely change the game for theme parks worldwide.
Never ridden a roller coaster before but visited my cousin who works there. I decided I might as well go big for my first time and do the Velocicoaster, and man am I glad I did. I didn't even have a clue what to expect (except that I was probably going to freak out), but it was one the most intense and exhilarating experience of my life. Big props!!
To be able to create this for a living is incredible. My love for Universal has no bounds! 🙌😍❤
More of this please as you move into Epic Universe. Get some teaser episodes out. You must have some stuff from the design and build stage of Nintendo for Japan.

Yeah I think that's the plan that it will be an exact or almost exact copy of the Nintendo land in Japan.
@@bryancurdi2318 I think there might be a new Donkey Kong coaster here, don't quote me on that though cause I'm not sure. That would be super cool though, I can't wait to see what the Mario Kart ride is like with the goggles
yeah, that is correct, but I believe Japan is adding that as an expansion and there are rumors that it will open before Epic Universe, so I believe Japan and Orlando are the only parks so far getting all the 3 rides in the land. So I guess you can say it is different from the one in Japan since Japan still doesn't have the donkey kong roller coaster, and it was in the concept art of Epic Universe.
We went in August '22, I only got to ride it once but it was awesome, a truly next level coaster, love the dual launch, the big drop and the corkscrew over the water especially. Amazing, great job Universal.
Was just there, one of the greatest roller coasters in the world. Its so fast yet so smooth, the air time is incredible, and its long and satisfying. Universal easily tops any of the Disney parks for rides, wait times, queue experience, and theming, in my humble opinion. We rode it five times in one day, and still had time to ride my personal favorite, Hagrid's Motorbike Adventure, multiple times, as well as other amazing rides. The staff are fun and friendly, plus always knowlagable and look like they are having almost as much fun as I am. Well done, Universal! Keep up the amazing work, and I hope to see more stuff like this at Universal Florida park soon!

@@jacobwerman1008 I've been to europa park and I have to disagree, velocicoaster still comes out on top! Ironically, the manufacturer for this ride also developed other rides in europa park and other European theme parks.

I love the velocicoaster so much! I was lucky enough to ride it before opening day and I'll admit I was freaking out. First time I rode alone with a complete stranger in first row. First seat is THE. I just wanna say to everyone who worked on it, from the cast and crew that made film the queue videos, to the ride engineers, to the creative team that brought the thrills and excitement from the films to life both big and small, to the artists who brought the raptor pack face to face with us Jurassic fans, even the workers right now who work there 24/7 and help immerse us into the film franchise we love so so much....thank you so much for this ride 🙏🏻❤️🦖🎢❤️ this last summer was actually my very first time going to a Universal Stuidos theme park, and I knew it was going to be a special one to remember because I just had to go to not only the Jurassic Park themed area but also having it be the grand opening summer this ride was open and I have never felt so much closer to both the Jurassic World franchise and of course to the beautiful one and only raptor pack 🤘🏻🦖 thank you for making my first time to Universal Studios Orlando my best time ever with not just this amazing ride but for the Jurassic Park area as a whole I’ve always wanted to come to a Jurassic Park/World themed anything and you made it come true to me and quite honestly this ride doesn’t even count as the cherry on top it was the whole ice cream Sunday with five different ice cream flavors with super extra fudge and a ton of sprinkles and three cherries on top I loved it so so much and I know it wasn’t at all an easy feat for you all that worked and currently still work on it so thank you so so much for that 🙏🏻❤️🦖🦕❤️ it may not seem like it to you but you’ve made my dino theme park visit come true this last summer and made me feel like a dino loving kid once more I can’t wait to run with the raptors again soon when I’m down in Orlando!!🤘🏻🎢🦖
I first went on this ride back in summer of 2021. As I was waiting in the loading zone, I was chompin' at the bit. I was super pumped to get on the Velocicoaster, and it certainly did not disappoint. my favorite part of the Velocicoaster is the Mosasaurus Roll over the lagoon. The Velocicoaster is one hell of a "heavy metal ballet". 🤘

I've been on it twice. Hands down, the best coaster in Florida
We live in Country Victoria Australia and can’t wait to be able to travel to Orlando again. We visited back in Sept 2019 and saw the walls that had been put up along the walkways and have been following the progress via this page and some others. We were able to ride Harris’s ride and many others. Best park I’ve ever been to. The attention to detail and the brilliant staff.

Universal checked off all the marks needed to make the Velocicoaster one of a kind and over exceeded the expectations that I believe anyone could have had for that ride. An intense ride ALL the way through with one of the best Zero G Stalls I’ve experienced placing it right over the pathway! Chef’s Kiss! Then of course the heartline roll over the water…. Speechless! With that layout, car design, AMAZING queue and ride landscaping it is easily a top 5 coaster!

This is the best Roller Coaster I have ever been on. I am an annual passholder and it is always how I start the day at the Park and end it. Always have to ride it at least twice.

Jurassic world velocicoaster is the greatest roller coaster ever to be constructed at universal Orlando resort. It is fun, exciting, more adventurous than ever, and it is an amazing epic moment where everybody can go on the ride and it would make you feel like you are placed into the movie for the first time and you would feel like you have entered another world and seeing the raptors when your on the ride, and notice how fun and scary it was to go on the ride. So I thank the employees of universal Orlando resort for constructing a brand new roller coaster for the world. Even when the pandemic impacted on the whole world it was terrible that we had to avoid being infected by covid 19 if people were diagnosed with covid 19. So I am looking forward to going on the ride for the very first time and enjoying the ride but entering the jurassic world story. Universal thank you for making the best roller coaster for universal Orlando resort and for the people all over the world who will enjoy themselves going on the ride.

What got me was the second launch. It was the most forceful thing I’ve ever experienced. 10/10 ride.
