Good Afternoon Sir, Just a point to cover, you talk about "upgrading" the brakes, but what about just normal brake maintenance ? ? ? ? Please consider making a video going through the process of getting the brakes to the point you start THIS video..... Basically a standard pads and rotor clean-up brake job. Thanks

i can do that but it'll be on another vehicle because I don't think I'll be touching these brakes for a while.

@@KGsGarage Would appreciate it. Proper method of getting the bearings off and new ones on and seals. MUCH more involved than the brake jobs I've been doing on my vehicles for years ! ! !

I have really enjoyed watching the front end rebuild. The information you share is priceless. Looking forward to the steering shaft install. I have a 76 GMC also would you mind sharing the part numbers for the rotors? Thanks.

You'll have to get the rotors from a GMC motorhome supplier like www.sirumvintagegmc.com/ or www.gmcrvparts.com/ because they are specific to the MH. They have to drill new holes in Toronado rotors so they can be bolted to the GMC's Hub

How is the new upgrade? I've done all my brakes and have a hard pedal still. Thinking my combination valve is the problem at this point.

      I don't know, I haven't driven it yet. :(

Riveted organic pads are better than those new bonded ones!

I think they don't use Rivets for cost reasons and also when they get low the rivets destroy the rotors.

KG, the reason I mention it is that the owner of GMC REHAB RANCH feels that the riveted pads handle extreme heat better and the rivets are brass so won’t damage rotors. Of course keep an eye on the thickness! Also the organic pads wear quicker BUT the rotors last longer. Always beware of ceramic pads with drums in combination on the rear! At any rate you’ll have the best looking coach! I’d take it to Quartzsite on it’s first trip and park in front of the yacht club for dinner!

    What’s wrong with original brakes?

Probably nothing, but I had it all apart and figured it'd be a good time to upgrade.
