In this video I will be reviewing a Japanese Import (JDM) Subaru Impreza STI Hawkeye that has been remapped to 360bhp.
This STI sounds great and is a real beauty especially as it is the 2.0 and not the 2.5 UK variant!!

I have the 2001 JDM STI sedan and it has the rumble. Same colour scheme. Love it.

I always wanted an STI but I ended up with an 07 WRX for 5 Grand 3 years ago. Recently I just bought an iag stage 2 short block. With the price of STIs I figured I can have a fully built WRX for the same price as a stock STI
The engine upgrade will make a massive difference, get it in 👍
But then you still don't have the 6sp tranny, axels, brakes etc. Ends up costing a bunch to get all the things & do all the work. Good to have a donor sti then

Not owned an STI or plain WRX before but I have driving a few of them though, but all UK cars, current own an 06 Outback.
@@granturismo4000 you will most certainly love the Scooby. The JDM feels like it revs quicker (twin scroll setup) and obviously sounds different to the UK! Let us know once you have picked it up 👍
@@PerformanceLifestyles will do, yeah I keep seeing that the imports are always worth much more than the UK models and just better all round.
@@granturismo4000 a JDM STI is definitely worth that bit more than a UK car so a safer move too. Generally speaking, it will be a stronger car 😀

Hi Love your channel and you seem a good guy. I'm looking for Hawkeye 2005-2007 Impreza STI (JDM) Would you say they would be pretty much rust free if not in UK for long? How is the drive, quick acceleration? Strong,? Punchy? Quick Acceleration low down with NOT much Turbo Lag? I'm assuming a very appreciating Asset

If they've been here a short time then they'll practically be as good as a fresh import if they've not been heavily used in the winter months. The JDM and UK cars do have a very punchy feel especially if they've been remapped but the UK do sound better due to the unequal length manifolds.
There's virtually no lag low down but JDM does feel stronger and are generally stronger unless you try and run big power.
The JDM cars will most certainly hold better value so get one whilst the prices are slightly down 👍

I think a lot of JDM cars generally just have the rear tinted windows 😁

Definitely, just the last 6 months has seen a massive increase in prices. Unfortunately as a buyer they are getting to the unaffordable stage for some 😒

hey mate, how does the blob/hawk ej207 cars compare to the grb hatch sti? which do you prefer and recommend?
Hi mate, the blob/hawk is a more 'raw' car and more driver feedback. I personally prefer them but the hatch makes a great daily and all round car. The hatch is more of a 'modern' refined Scooby compared to the previous models 👍

Bro I bought a Hawkeye sti jdm from auctions, thanks for your advice. It has a lot of sick parts like varis carbon fibre hood and trunk, voltex front bumper and diffuser and side skirts , hks titanium exhaust, etc

Didn’t they all come 2.5 turbo?
Most UK Hawkeyes are 2.5 apart from a very few of the early cars which were 2.0. All JDM are however a 2.0 and generally known as the better car. 👍
