Hey John. Thank you for sharing your experience and contact info to Mars. I was in the same situation with a dead PDK. A few hours with Mars and I was back in the road. Big thanks to the two of you.
Hi John, Thanks for posting these videos! I wanted to give a shout out to you and Mars! I also decided to purchase my PIWIS 3 from MARS 2 months ago. (Best decision I made) He is very reliable and honest. Mars went out of his way and spent a lot of time helping me set everything up and walking me through the different steps and processes of the system (through remote on the computer). I did have to wait for the reader to ship and arrive as he was out of stock for a week or so. He is very knowledgeable and proficient. I feel that most people working with a stranger or random person has a fear of losing out. Mars never gave off that feeling. He always stayed in communication even with the different time zones. He never shy away from any questions that I had. Thank you once again, with all the positive reviews and information from your channel (@John) I made a very clear decision! (@Mars) Thank you! You have been awesome!
Hi Robin. Thank you very much for your support. I’m so glad Mars was able to help you out. He is truly an amazing guy. If you need any help in the future be sure to join the Porsche technical support group on facebook.
what a great video, and I have to thank you for putting out Mars information, I contacted him and he sold me the PIWIS and walked me through the entire installation set up, he remote in to my computer and he spend a bunch of time making sure everything was right and my computer and yesterday I finished replacing the distance sensor and speed sensor on my 2013 911, and calibration went flawlessly
After watching this video, I decided to get my PIWIS from Mars! He was a bit more expensive than those aftermarket guys selling JUST the hardware! I read where they DO NOT offer any guidance in setting up the software!!! He guided me every step of the way in selecting the BEST laptop, which has to have a 1920 x 1080 resolution (no other even mentions this critical requirement), along with other system requirements. Once I took delivery of my Lenovo T480, he graciously asked to log onto my personal computer and remotely went thru and downloaded the program to a USB, then we set up my dedicated new laptop. This took over 2 hours due to the complexities of having to make it capable of booting directly to the PIWIS program at start-up. Mars then stepped thru the program to familiarize myself with it. Now, Im waiting for the hardware to arrive, and then Mars will help me connect to the cars (I have 3 Porsches) to assure that everything functions as intended. DON"T EVEN THINK OF GETTING IT FROM ANYONE OTHER THAN MARS!!!
I love Mars, he really is a genius with the piwis. He fixed my car and helped me fix my software. He really is the best. Glad you had a great experience with him as well
Good work, John. Congrat for new job. We should take you out for Lunch, Buddy, for your heartful recommendation about PIWIS 3. when I saw your video and referred to Mar, I will buy it from Mar. I am out in Dallas the week of July 4. My daughter is at UTSW. I should hook up with you and take you to Lunch.
Excellent video John! Admittedly, the PIWIS may be over my capabilities to use. However, I'd hate to see you, a guy that does his best to help, get screwed. Thanks for the heads up on Mars! Yep! Got to change my oxygen sensors, also!😂 Thanks again! Glad to hear you're back at work. I knew the feeling before I retired. And it wasn't good
Thanks Thomas, Mars is pretty awesome and saved me from a few sleepless night :) Thanks for your Kind words as always. looks like the best I can do on oxygen sensors is around $310 for all 4. I'm heading out of town for a week to do some training. when I get back I will get them ordered and do a video on them too :)
@@TomorrowsTek fantastic! I've got rear rotors and brake pads, with sensors to deal with until then. No rush, just hoping I can get rid of the check engine light with my POR II. 🤣
holy cow was I had seen this before I wrecked my 991 if you can provide me with any ideas on a fix other than the dealer I would love to know what other options I have
I bought a Piwis 3 from autonumen how do I know it’s not properly installed? I can’t communicate with instrument cluster I wonder if it’s because of the software is not properly configured.
Have you replaced your O2 sensors? What is the code you are getting? My panie has been running rich for a while I replaced both sensors and that didn't help.
Mars is a very well known fella in the Piwis community. Glad he could help you out! So, my understanding is that you had to buy again the Piwis software because Autonumen sold you a crappy beyond repair copy?
@@lynxstarautomotive208 the clone of a clone is still a good clone. What I have learned is that, unless you buy the whole laptop, software and dongle from a cloner, you will need support hours to set all up.
Just FYI on anyone getting a PIWIS and hoping to do the PDK calibration. It is not worth the risk! Leave your working PDK alone. Jeff richardson made a great video about the two types of PDK calibration and his conclusion was unless you replaced a part within the PDK, just leave it alone. The calibration makes no difference. I certainly wouldn't attempt to calibrate a functioning PDK using a knockoff PIWIS! Don't risk your 20,000$ transmission with a 250$ clone!

You really wouldn't be able to unless you went into the software files and knew what you were looking for. on issue on mine for instance. When the car is shut off during calibration, my tool was not configured to pick up on ignition on.

You should utilize the PIWIS system to retrofit sports plus into your car.
