I just became a first time Porsche 987 (2005 Boxster 2.7) owner a few days ago and your videos are awesome. The same exact symptoms (head unit, seat heaters, homelink, etc.) and can't believe I have to go a dealer to reset as I am sure many owners are experiencing the same, perhaps?? Wish you lived in NJ area 🙂 You give me some courage to tackle / perform Porsche DIY work!
Nice. I just got a 987 Boxster S with a non-responsive head unit, seat heaters, and homelink. I suspect I may need to do this "vehicle handover" thingy...
I’m curious what this can do for the 986. Also would like to see a fob programmed to the car. You will need the car codes and a fob with code on the paper tag to do this.
Great informational videos.. Im looking at buying either a PIWIS2 or 3.. I have a 19 Carrera GTS and would love to know where you bought yours from? Im going to start doing my own serving in the future.. Thanks again for any info you can provide..
Just down the road from you. Curious if you have insight on what’s needed to code out the Tiptronic transmission from the dme? Working on a 996 manual swap.
@@HelpMeDIY Raleigh! Project is almost all back together, had to add a few wires here and there in the harness based on the wiring diagrams. I’m still playing about in simulation mode at the moment since my cable hasn’t come in yet. Did you have to input the cars IPAS code into the PIWIS program anywhere? Thanks for the videos!
Hi, recently swapped a 997.2 s instrument cluster to my 997.2 (non s). The oil temp is not working (everything else seems fine). Is there any manual coding or “handover” specific for the oil temp gauge? The sensor is working, but no movement on the actual cluster. Is there a menu for this under “instrument cluster” on the piwis tool?
My car is a 2006, 997 and when the battery dies, I lose the heated seats and the headlamp washers. In Ireland, the car will fail the annual road test if the headlamp washers are not working.
Be careful, you should do the VAL first. Then perform the maintenance. Then a handover. That’s how I do it. My software package has an issue reporting the voltage on the upper right corner. I need to see if I can correct the issue.
I have a 2020 992 and having a hard time finding a scan tool that will read codes AND allow me to complete service interval resets. Do you know if the PIWIS 3 will do that for my model/year? Also, where did you purchase your PIWIS 3? Thanks
+Fred Burmer I don’t know for sure about a 2020. I have a PIWIS 2, not a 3. There is a playlist in the description and the first video I made on the PIWIS has a link to where I got mine.
I just swaped out a flooded rear control module on a 987 and now the new one has the tail lights on all the time when the ignition is on. Will the PIWIS program the lights to work with the new module? Would it be done with "handover"? Thanks.
@@HelpMeDIY the process for my 987.2 was to put the key in the ignition with the unlock button facing the passenger seat. then turn the ignition all the way but don't start the engine (so don't push in the brakes how you normally would start the car). Then I just held the unlock door button on my key fob (while it's in the ignition), I held the unlock button for over 30 seconds. This re-paired the remote with the car.
This happened to me once when I disconnected the battery for too long. I have a Durametric pro and it doesn’t help, had to pay the dealer 1/2 labor to restore the lost functions
