I'm pretty sure the only other Mega Man series to reach a proper conclusion was the fellow GBA series, Mega Man Zero. And one hell of a conclusion that was.
Saito People at this point have theorized that Thomas had eventually got the Reset he wanted by being far more patient than Albert. The proceeding events led to the world we see in Megaman Legends....even then there's still a cliffhanger because Volnutt is still on the moon.
@@matthewmurata9959 My ten favorites not in order 10: Megaman Battle network 9: Pokemon 8: Caslevania 7: Fire emblem 6: Super robot Taisen 5: Yggdra Union 4: Advance Wars 3: Summon Knight 2: Legend of Zelda 1: Breath of Fire
The fact they discontinued the Battle Network series instead of perpetuating and innovating it, breaks my heart. This world is ripe for a mobile Battle Network game. Custom Navis, open world exploration, new chips, etc. Advertising is built in, there could be paid-for homepages & CPU’s like Google for example. The idea builds itself, Capcom needs to get their collective shit together.
Ironically Megaman addressed issues that back in 2001 many wouldn't have considered, like the potential danger of a fully interconnected world and the internet.
Yes, and I'm kind of sad they went with a more "fantasy" bent to the series as it progressed. The game flirts with something resembling "cyberpunk". I said "flirts"! I realize there is a big gap between even the early story and proper cyberpunk; what I mean is that, genre conventions aside, we get a story where the technology is just what we have only more advanced. The gap becomes a Grand Canyon as it progresses, with this weird metaphysical thing where Net Ops and NetNavis can somehow link their minds through willpower alone and perform better or get a power up (...been a while since I read these things), let alone when Navis began to materialize in the real world. I would be interested in a less fantastic spin on the series, myself. Still confronting issues about AI, the divide between reality and simulated realities, and the pros-and-cons of having the internet so connected to real world machinery.
Sadly, the series was indeed aimed at a young audience, and I don't think Capcom would have approved a more "heavy" plot, but the fundamentals of cyberpunk morales are there.
Yes. I think I may have phrased myself poorly. I *do* love the Battle Network series, or at least the games from it that I've played (Battle Network 1-3, Network Transmission, and Battle Chip Challenge). I enjoyed the animation and really enjoyed the manga. I simply ran out of funds to continue pursuing the series, and haven't been able to get back to it since; I know the direction it took, or rather continued pursuing, and while I don't hate it, even keeping it lighthearted it just began to resemble Digimon too much for my tastes. *Now* bring in what I said before; I am curious how things might have gone had the basic direction been maintained. Even keeping it age appropriate - as, for some reason, the handheld that seems more valuable to an adult player is seen as being more for children o_O - I am curious what might have been done with a less "heightened reality" approach to the series. :)
It's curious to see though how many things that are now a standard were """"predicted"""" in the series like the return of the "internet of things" idea and functions like NFC (as Lan is seen paying for a taxi by swiping the Progress PET in the anime)
Story was mostly pretty stupid though and didnt really go in a very interesting direction don't get me wrong i love the series and enjoy the story but i do think it didnt really make much sense and went with a more light hearted kiddy storyline
I can't be the only one wanting a Switch re-release. Like how they did with the classic MegaMan and X series, they should do that with .EXE/Battle Network.
While I never played the games, Megaman NT Warrior was actually my introduction to the franchise, I remember loving the show back when it was on Kids WB.
digifreak90 I can’t remember wether I played the game or watched the show first, but I loved both. This was during my weeb phase where all I did was read manga and watch anime when. I discovered it. That was was my childhood and I loved it. NT Warrior and Beyblade were my favorites
For me it was my introduction to anime in general. My introduction to Megaman was the Archie comics Sonic and Megaman crossover. It’s one of my favorite game franchises and NT warrior is one of the anime I hold close to my heart
@@sosmooth13 please tell me where I can find the manga and anime dvds????????? I want them in my collection cause NT Warriors was my first anime with Sonic X(finally got the dvds for season 1-2 for Sonic)
I remember watching the show first. In my country it aired right after Medabots so a digital/robotic companion was all I wanted back then (I still do but hey)
I always disliked how the next games would magically forget all the amazing things Lan and Megaman did in the previous game. Lan should be a celebrity by the 4th game, and he should far outrank Chaud as an official in my opinion.
BlackWingedSeraph It was annoying how his achievements were left in the background except in 5, but an Official is a government agent. LAN was a City Netbattler in 2, but he was never an official (even when being the main operator in 5) and still a student.
In Megaman Battle Chip Challenge (not mentioned in the video), Lan actually has a fan that knows of his exploits that enters a tournament just for a chance to meet, thank and fight him. This fan directly mentions some of his last achievements but seeing as how this game was supposed to be between Battle Network 2 and 3 there's only so much Lan has done at that point.
Yeah by the 3rd one he would have been a disenfranchised recluse that dropped out of school and started his own megaman battle gym or something telling the world to screw off.
If I could name 1 game that deserve a modern remake, it would be Megaman Battle Network. Seriously, the story, characters and battle system are top notch!
honestly i think battle network doesnt need a remake i think a new series or a starforce continuation with a more refined battle system that mixes both starforce and battle network would be way cooler
If they were trying to copy Pokemon, there’s one big thing it failed to copy: it ended. Pokemon still hasn’t ended after more than 2 decades, whereas MegaMan BN didn’t even last *one* decade. It’s a shame. It was the only game series I liked on GBA other than Pokemon, I would’ve loved to play newer MegaMan BN games on the DS, 3DS, and Switch. And it still irks me that they stopped the dub for NT Warrior after only two seasons. Dub watchers got less than half of the series. The EXE branch of the franchise was treated horribly. It had so much potential, if Capcom actually gave it the attention it deserves, it could’ve still been having new releases to this day, same goes for the anime. RIP EXE 😭
@@No-lb6kg I know that. The video mentions they copied Pokemon’s random encounter formula and multiple versions of each game, so I was joking about how it didn’t copy the ‘never end’ trend that Pokemon follows.
The anime's plot was very lack luster compared to the game's plot. Imagine a reboot anime series with modern animation following the game plots adapted into episodes.
tbh one of the issues with the rockman exe games compared to pokemon is rockman games are considerably harder to play and as such reduces its popularity with kids. If you ask me I don't know how pokemon is more popular because the rockman games have good story, music, characters, battle system and generally more in depth game... pokemon wins in the PVP category but that's about it.
@@alvarocious1528 Not really. The Battle Network series may have had a pretty entertaining plot, with some heartwarming moments, but the NT Warrior series had plenty of them too, particularly around the time of Axess. While even when you want to argue how lackluster the earlier seasons were, it never was quite as bad as BN4, which practically had none.
It's kind of a shame you never touched on how people would actually play the Battle Network games competitively. In fact there's still a consistent community of people that play Battle Network 6 online against each other, especially in tournaments. It's really cool seeing just what these people can do to the game. And there's a huge amount that goes into it. Making a good Battle Chip deck, making sure you use the NaviCust effectively, taking into account what forms you and your opponent can use, and lastly, actually being skilled at the game itself. You can learn more on the /r/BattleNetwork subreddit.
the series ended with MegaMan becoming one of the best NetNavi. and in the game it ended when MegaMan fought off Gregar and Falazar and and did a 20 year montage of them growing up and MegaMan's companion getting married and a kid and apparently MegaMan has a relationship with Roll and have their own child Navi
Luckily I have played all the MMBN games multiple times but why would you spoil the end of mmbn6 like that? Also lmao how would that last thing even work?
I'm not completely certain if it is mentioned in the games but in the anime in the later seasons. Megaman finds a navi that looks like a child called Trill. Megaman as well as Roll take care of this child navi named Trill which I guess you could to some extent call their child and hints at them having a relarionship and being parents to trill
Trill is shown to be a being from another parralel universe called Beyondard which is more primitive and delapidated then den city. This is also where cybeasts falzar and gregar are believed to originate and come from. Trill also holds some secrets in the anime as to how megaman can cross with falzar and gregar.
Sanginius on vacation true ;~; my cousin had one then he told me that Japan is literally across the ocean from them so that’s why California gets them. I got jealous
Definitely saw the P.E.T’s at walmart Im from Texas and remember saving my lunch money to buy one. But then my friend got one first and I realized it wasn’t that cool and used my saved money for the newly released Pokémon leaf green instead. Yeah those P.E.T’s where like 40$ geez
The show was my first exposure to MegaMan, and I didn't quite get how it started off as a robot show, and I think it being basically Digimon works really well. I love it! The show is basically Digimon Tamers, and I like that. I also appreciate that they were the canonically connected in at least the games.
Silver Fang Sadly toys need to sell (btw I collected the toys too lol) so there’s no come back for it. So many companies nowadays rely on the merchandise sales numbers, instead of ratings/fan interests. I actually enjoyed the show.
I wish Medabots would come back! the criminally unrecognized GBA RPGs are amazing and the Medabots themselves have a design that really tickles my aesthetic sense.
I was a HUGE fan of these games and bought all of the series from 3 onward. Later in life I felt like I picked the wrong thing to obsess over because no one ever talks about these games. It’s all about Pokémon. This was my Pokémon.
You forgot another Japan-exclusive game: Rockman.EXE 4.5 Real Operation, in which you chose what NetNavi to control (in a selection including Roll.exe, Gutsman.exe and Numberman.exe alongside Megaman.exe, but had 9 more unlockable Navis), and was meant to be used alongside a toy called Battle Chip Gate that, connected to the Game Boy Advance, allowed you to use toy Battle Chips to do a variety of things, and unlock 8 more Navis in the game. Besides using it to sell toys, it was allegedly used as a test for multiple Navis in Battle Network 5. The redesigned PET used in the cover for the game was also featured in the anime during Megaman Axess as the substitute PET for the protagonist Lan as the Advanced PET II.
I purchased 4.5 online when it was first released, I was a tad confused at first, but I loved that I could use the chips that the battle network series action figures. Loved playing as Bass
all sword decks were sweet, used them primarily in every game. Muramasa, I think it was, was bad ass, don't remember which one it was in, but the one that did the damage based on how much you were missing. Life sword combos murdered so many things.
This is something I never expected in this channel. And no Battle Network was not inspired by .hack that is a coincidence. Its plot was conceived as a modern reinterpretation of the Megaman classic series since in the 2000's the internet not robots were the hot new thing. In fact its basically considered the splitting point between the main games and the .EXE games that Dr. Tadashi Hikari became a network researcher instead of a robotics researcher and of course outshone Dr. Wily whose robotics research for the military was ignored. Its considered by the Megaman fanbase that the .EXE era is the "good future" while the classic era is the "bad future" since the advent of the Robot masters led to the eventual extinction of humanity. Also there is another Megaman.EXE game for the DS a reboot of the first Battle network called Operate Shooting Star which bombed due to a combination of dated gameplay and false advertising. Since it came of the heels of the maligned and tragically failed Star Force and during the promotions gave grandiose promises of having a time travel crossover and a grand battle between Subaru and Lan. And before you ask i'm just used to the Japanese names because I saw the Japanese anime subs first and I've never gotten accustomed to the English Starforce translation. The only characters I regularly refer to in the English names are the Starforce 3 cast because there is no anime and Capcom left the franchise for dead at the time.
aliastheabnormal actually humanity didn't disappear, they still exist in legends which takes place at the end of the timeline. It just at this point, reploids has gotten carbon based bodies and has become indistinguishable from humans, they practically became humans. As for that Doctor, his plans got put on hold, indefinitely. I wonder if someone just came and froze the area in time.
Andres Marrero You're wrong in Legends the last human died before the first game and the feud of the game is based around Megaman who is unwittingly following the last humans order to kill the past and let the Carbons build the future and Sera who is trying to revive humanity thru mass cloning which would require genocide of the Carbons with a side of jealousy since she envies Megaman for being a mook yet he was essentially their god and masters right hand man and confidant. The Carbons are neither reploids nor humans they are fully artificial lifeforms based of the ZX tech that are completely indistinguishable from humans somehow yet can put metal stuff in their bodies and even think they are humans since it wasn't until Legends 2 that the supporting cast discovered the truth about their history.
He failed to mention a bunch of mmbn games like battle chip challenge, the mobile mmbn games, mmbn 4.5, and mm shooting star (mmbn version of starforce). smh, not doing enough research.
casperd2100 Well, MM Battle Chip Challenge is just a spin-off game that takes place a few months after the events of MMBN3; Operate Shooting Star is a reboot of the original/first MMBN game with Star Force contents in it; and actually, EXE 4.5 Real Operation is, (according to its wiki) despite being labeled as 4.5, this game isn't canon to the main MMBN games, and is actually a game to test other playable Navis for MMBN5 and 6.
Some of the omissions (errors?) from the video (sorry, Negative Legend) 1) _Mega Man Battle Chip Challenge_ is a side game for the series, released in 2003 and 2004 (depending on the region). It is a very different take on the series, but one I really enjoyed. I was really sad this was left out, because not only did I grow to love this game (though I thought it was kind of stupid at first), but you *really* need game footage to avoid burying people under paragraphs. If someone *wants* an explanation, I'll try to bang one out later. 2) The Mega Man: NT Warrior TCG was *intended* to include *all* Mega Man franchises, eventually. What that meant to the narrative of the TCG was unclear, but a promo was released for Mega Man X, and one for Zero was revealed (but I'm not sure if it was ever released). Let me be clear, these promos were *not* meant to be NetNavi or Virus versions of X and Zero, but were indeed the X-series takes on the characters. 3) Do you mean that *certain* PETs were Japan exclusives? We got something called a PET in North America; I used to own one, and it sounds like what you described. The Battle Chips were available in a variety of North American released merchandise, and one of the reasons I bothered buying the action figures. XP
*Disclaimer:* I _used_ to own the game, wish I still did, but haven't played it in at least five years (maybe closer to 10). In other words, I've forgotten some stuff and don't have time to rewatch a video to remind me of specifics. ^^' *Forget* typical MMBN gameplay, *but remember* all the characters you've seen from the original MMBN to MMBN3. You see, it is one of those games that reuse a BUNCH of art assets from the past games, so nearly every major (and minor!) character shows up. *This game lets you choose between **six** NetOp/NetNavi pairings!* You may still play as Lan and MegaMan, but you also can pick Chaud/ProtoMan, Mayl/Roll, Dex/GutsMan, Kai/TurboMan (created for this game), or Mary/Ring (created for this game). I believe the last two pairs were created for this game; Ring is an adaptation of Ring Man. Gameplay is dramatically different, as stated above. You'll never make your NetOp walk anywhere or do anything, nor your NetNavi, at least not directly. BCC is all about a tournament in the game called the "Battle Chip Grand GP" and is basically about the tournament(s) that were interrupted by the events of past games. There is something going on behind the scenes (hence Chaud and ProtoMan being there). After selecting your pair of characters, you then create a "Program Deck" of up to 12 Chips. Chips have a size rating, and you're Program Deck cannot exceed a certain size (though you can increase this size later so that it is less constraining). Shock of shocks, better chips eat up more space in your Program Deck. The chips are not randomly pulled from your folder in this game. You *can* leave a space blank, and sometimes this may even be a good idea... but I'll explain why it usually isn't, later. Instead of the usual layout for chips and activating them as MegaMan, 10 of the chips are arranged as a sideways isosceles triangle pattern. The "tip" of the triangle faces the edge of the screen and the opponent's side of the screen is a mirror of this (so the bases of the triangles are by each other). Yes, you get to see your opponent's Program Deck, but the chip names aren't displayed for either of you, just the icon for the chip (which is shared by all related chips). The "base" of each triangle has four Battle Chips in it. The next column (since these are sideways) has three chips. The column after that has just two chips, and the tip has a single chip, which *has* to be your Navi's chip. When the battle begins, the fastest Navi goes first and (randomly) selects one of the four chips from the base of the "Program Deck", then uses it. I cannot remember if Navi's automatically switch-off chip after chip or if speed determines exactly when each chip is used. I'll explain *why* I can't remember in a moment. However it works, your Navi moves from the base to the tip, executing each chip's actions. The Navi Chip has them use their built-in attack, like the Mega Buster for MegaMan. Then the next turn has you start all over again, and repeat until one Navi runs out of HP or time is called. I said you select 12 chips, but what I just described uses only 10 of them. The other two are your "Slot-In' chips. You're allowed a Right and a Left one, which are assigned to your L and R shoulder buttons. For the Program Deck diagram, these go on either side of the "tip" of the triangle. You may hit the corresponding button to use these at any time in the match, interrupting your usual cycle (which resumes afterward). Not only are these chips each one-time-use, but to use them requires a meter at the the bottom of the screen. It starts at 0% and fills with each chip used by either player. That represents the odds of the Slot-In Chip working. If you use it and it fails to work, it is still consumed! *Chips can be destroyed!* Yeah, your chips have HP and while only the Slot-In chips can be consumed, *any* chip can take damage. If its HP hits zero, it has been "deleted" and you've got a gap in your Program deck. If that space is selected by your Navi, your Navi *does nothing* and you've wasted an action! Some Program Decks are all about deleting the other player's Program Deck since it is pretty easy to beat an opponent down to just their Navi attack. The same thing happens if you leave a space intentionally blank. You might do this to squeeze in a more powerful chip than you'd normally be able to use at your current level of development in the game). That might sound crazy, but usually, you're doing this for chips that can practically win the game themselves, *and* you can choose which column gets them and which gets the blank. You'll win more NaviChips as you progress; you can equip one of these to temporarily overwrite your Navi. I say "temporary" because it doesn't affect the game's story and your original Navi is always there, just under the chip, but in the match, you'll have all the stats of the equipped NaviChip, including performing that Navi's attack when it gets to that point in the Program Deck. *Every* Navi in the game is up for grabs in this manner. IIRC, you just have to defeat that Navi to claim its chip. So, you automatically move from match to match, at least after selecting which part of the tournament you want to try (there are various divisions to select, and you not only can play them all but will probably replay several to grind). I mentioned the art assets earlier... but I haven't described what they are doing. During Battles, you'll see the Navis at the top of the screen in what looks like the usual Battle Screen *except* it is no longer three rows by six columns big, but a single row of three squares. The game handles dodging and such, but you can still do things like changing some blocks to holes or lava tiles etc. You'll see the characters perform the attacks and the results up there as well, which can be unintentionally hilarious. WoodMan's attack animations often have him moving in a manner that thrusts his "belly" towards you. The typical sword slash animation for sword chips gets super-imposed on this when he uses a sword chip and... well... you can gather how that looks. They'll be pre- and post-match dialog for every opponent, even things like the generic child characters who might be using NormNavi1 to Mr.Match having one of his fire-based Navis. Of the six selectable teams, the five you do *not* pick will show up as opponents! _Whew!_ This may sound too complicated or maybe it sounds boring since you're not controlling it directly, but it really is fun. It also is nice because it is the kind of game you can do while listening to a lecture, watching at a program, or even doing light exercises. You can't take your eyes off the screen too long, but your attention doesn't need to be constant. Each of the six teams has his or her own story, and while you'll get pieces of it when you face them as opponent's, you only get the full thing when playing as that character... which is might be my one true gripe as the game has two save files but six teams from which to pick!
"The theme was 'a game you can enjoy while your heart pounds' " Suddenly the darkchips in battle network 4 make sense! Instead of having 2 appear when your HP gets low, they'd appear and "tempt" the player if a fight was getting them too excited/nervous and got their heart racing.
God, I wish they'd revisit Starforce because Starforce 3 was just amazing. It was easily the most solid iteration of the Starforce battle system as everything just *clicked*. The stories were pretty solid, too, but I think 2 and the really bad anime just turned people off of it, not to mention that the "behind the back" system made it feel very restrictive, which is something I can understand.
I'm surprised Capcom bothered to put so much effort into SF3 despite how badly SF was flopping. Though, the game was still a bit rushed because a handful of characters from the previous games didn't make an appearance such as Gemini/Pat and Goat/Kid Gruff.
the behind the back wasn't the problem, it was actually being restricted to the back line at all times, eliminating so many movement and attack options. The lock on system was like a badly done easy mode for sword and claw swipes that made using everything else either awkward or boring. Being down to 1 line only in mmbn was a really terrible experience in BN games, and making it a permanent feature in SF was just the absolutely wrong thing to do. I played all 3 games but the fun and depth was never as good.
True, the most annoying in SF is the battle system, I play through the story once and never play it again, the combat is boring, the 3D look is terrible, and the transformation requirements are confused and awkward.
It hurts my heart as a veteran player to hear the words "Capcom's greatest creation out of the Mega Man franchise" so I looked up Capcom's sales numbers to ease my aging mind of how MegaMan II still sits on top.
Rashid Al-Khayyal It's just BN1 but with about 20 minutes of Star Force content near the end with Geo being able to break the game in half with his Star Force abilities
Nobody played it in Japan and it never came out in the west. It doesn't help that Capcom lied like hell when promoting it. I was there when OSS came out and the game Capcom promised was nothing like what came out. It was EA levels of bullshit.
Zero Ace Capcom tried to sell Battle Network 1 unchanged to a world that not only played the other 5 sequels but Starforce 3. I believe saying OSS is a shit game needed no saying so I said nothing. There's a reason why Nintendo updated its remakes of previous generations of Pokemon to at least make them playable by modern standards instead of shoving the GBA code into a DS cart like Capcom did.
Megaman Battle Network 2 (BN2) was my first Battle Network (BN) game. I LOVED the game so much and would say it is my favorite game of all time. I played the game over and over again to the point I knew every nook and cranny of the undernet. Not sure if I can now, but then bet you I could speed run it including all missions, side missions, licenses, and other unlockable content. I still have a pretty detailed memory of the game. I really loved the battle system, the characters, the setting, and story. I was exposed to the anime before the game. At the time I was fascinated with computers and technology so the idea of a PET and net navi really intrigued me. I also felt like I could relate to Lan Hikari, Megaman, and the other cast as well. Unlike other RPGs with a random encounter system, BN didn't annoy me. Especially BN2. Fighting was based on skill, experience, and strategy. I didn't want to say "luck" as far what battle chips you put in your folder because though it is somewhat random what you draw customizing your folder with the right chips is as much part of strategy as anything else. There was always something to work towards in BN2 and it wasn't tedious. I remember trying to get the next city nett battler license in BN2 or exploring the undernet to see what new and powerful viruses I could find. I remember trying to complete my battle chip collection, or trying to find secrets by unlocking security cubes and I think just that sense of adventure and exploration mixed with a fun battle system really gripped me. There was always a sense of progression and the game did a really good job of conveying growth. It's pretty easy to get S ranks even early on in the game and be consistent, but I still took pride in executing a good strategy and getting my clear times as low as possible. Learning the viruses patterns was satisfying and being able to overcome a tricky virus combination with your own skills really makes you feel like a great net battler. Even if you spam a powerful chip un battle, knowing that you went through the hastle of getting that whether it be by beating other navis, braving the debts of the undernet, or simple luck of the draw of a chip machine, it still makes you feel good. After a while, you feel like you are a professional able to fight your way out of any situation no matter what chips you had. For a game I really took pride in everything about it. In conclusion, the BN series was such a great series though I really only remember BN2 becauase it is my favorite and most played. Maybe they shouldn't make more, but I would love to replay the series with updated graphics or something on todays consoles/handhelds. I have both a switch and 3DS so an updated port please I will cough up money in an instant. If somehow they can make a new game to the series I bet it would be the best one yet on this newer hardware though I'll never sellout my love BN2 (even though I did sell my cartridge years ago... wish I never did now). Also, will add, I played all three Star Force games too. They were fun and all, but I don't think the wave world is as interesting as the net. Though I did enjoy the anime and really liked the concept. I may even like the characters a tiny bit more. Not more than Lan and Mega from BN though, just a bit more than the other secondary characters in BN.
5:06 Honestly that manga was my first TRUE introduction to Mega Man as a franchise. Yeah, I saw some ads, but this was when I actually got into the franchise as a whole.
I’ve got quite a few of these: Medabots, Shaman King, Fighting Foodons, Monster Rancher, Battle B-Daman, Zatch Bell, and IGPX. Obviously there’s more but it’s obviously difficult to remember what you’ve long since forgotten.
Great video, you really hit on a lot of topics about all the boundaries that Battle Network went into, though you did miss a game which was Battle Network 4.5, a japan exclusive game (mostly due to a specific model of a game boy iirc) where you could play as multiple different navi's and end up doing tournaments and the what not. This was still a good video to listen to!
What a coincidence! My first Megaman Battle Network game was also MBN5 and I also bought it at Game Crazy. Though I bought it thinking it was something else, I ended up loving it.
I loved the Battle Network games. I grew up watching a local dub of the anime. While my classmates were buzzing around the PSP at that time, I was there playing the whole Battle Network series in my GBA SP. It made me sad when i recently booted up my Battle Network 6 cartridges only to find out that my saves were already gone. It's sad there won't be another Battle Network game for modern platforms. But it would be great if Capcom makes a Battle Network Legacy Collection.
Spoiler below. Don't click if you don't want to be spoiled. . . . . . . . . . . The last game concluded the story that began in the first game. That being said, you can infer that the endings of both the first and second games are cliffhangers (which they are).
It's super late, .. Apparently, since the last title kinda skipped to what happened when they were adults, there is a room for added content. MegaDudes, the creator behind Mega Man Chrono X, added some fun bits in between the Cybeasts defeat and Lan and Mayl having a kid. They're now worked up until the 2nd boss and has a demo available.
There's a lot of story to be told. CAPCOM could easily make a Rockman.EXE 7 if they wanted to. After all there's a huge time skip at the end of Rockman.EXE 6
_Wow, this is a trip down memory lane for me. I use to play Battle Network ALL the time back in the day. Even now I wanted Capmon to revive the series for a new series on the 3DS._
Battle Network/NT was my first true introduction to Mega Man. I'm 24, so Mega Man X and Legends really should've been my entry point. When NT aired on Kids WB, I was totally into it. I knew of Mega Man so that's what caught my interest. Kids WB would hold contests every few months and I somehow won a few. One of those prizes was a PET. I thought it was amazing until I realized there was literally nothing to it and I needed to purchase extra chips to even play with it. Also it wouldn't turn off. Still thought it was a pretty sweet piece of memorabilia.
One of my favorite games as a kid. Had the best parts of an rpg and a card game. 6 was my favorite for gameplay, although I think the story could have ended with 3, which was amazing.
TheEmperorGulcasa It was intended to end at 3 but at the time was so popular that they went, "frick, we can't stop" and made more. Thank god we got 5 and 6. . . 4 was mehhh
Huh, that explains a lot. 3 really felt like the end, with the villains seemingly ultimately defeated and Megaman making a heroic sacrifice. 4 was pretty terrible after that. The art style looked very different, and the requirement to loop through the game multiple times to unlock the endgame was torture. It's story also seemed terribly weak after 3. I never played 5, but 6 really felt like a final refinement of the gameplay, with a much more interesting system than the old souls or styles. The ending was solid, but still seemed a bit weaker than 3. I definitely liked having more though. Sadly it's successor, Star Force, felt weaker. Especially with the less complex combat, due to being limited to 1D movement for some reason.
ikr starforce ruined the combat for me and i just couldnt get into it i did love battle network though and 100 percented 2,3,5,6 couldnt 100% 4 and 1 since i could frustrated because 4 team decided it would be genius for you to have to play through the already tedious game 3 times in order to 100% it and 1 is just clunky to me
Small correction for Network Transmission if someone hasn't mentioned it already: The game was a Nintendo GameCube exclusive title (given the rest of the series was GBA/DS exclusives).
I love this series so much it’s like 50% of my childhood alongside Pokémon It’s hard to enjoy now though cuz the fandom is a boiling dumpster fire and I had my own personal qualms with it I still love the series but I fear making any content for it...
Aaron Byrd I loved Megaman Battle Network. In fact, it was my gateway into the Megaman series. The only Pokèmon game I loked as a kid was Pokèmon Emerald. All the others where too easy, while Emerald provided a more difficult challenge in its own ways (like the psychic sisters having 2 Pokèmon apiece vs. only having 1 apiece in Pokèmon Ruby and Saphire.) I also remember getting ahold of my dads copy of DOOM and DOOM II for the GBA, and while I was originally scared of the demons, when I found out how to shoot the gun I immediately stated laughing as I started to brutally shoot them in the face... until I found the chainsaw!! My 5 year old self loved the original DOOM games, I still do. Edit:I apparently type to fast and had to delete a letter in between the I and l at the beginning of my comment
Good video, but I see several minor inaccuracies in the description of the game series: All six main numbered games in the Battle Network series had event-exclusive Chips that were completely unobtainable through normal gameplay. Most, but not all, of these were available automatically in the Wii U virtual console version, as stated. There were 10 Chips in MMBN 2 and 1 Chip per version in MMBN3 that could only be obtained by battling another player, as well as several chips in each game from 3 to 6 that could only be obtained in one version, and had to be traded in order to get it in the other version. As stated in the video, all of these were made freely available in the Wii U version. Contrary to the video, 100% completion of Battle Network 2 did in fact require the obtaining of the ten Chips that could only be obtained through multiplayer, as well as at least one of the five event-exclusive Chips; one of the five completion stars on the title screen was earned specifically by obtaining all ten multiplayer chips, and another was for making all 31 Program Advances, the last of which could not be made without one of the four event-exclusive Gospel chips. Battle Network 3 also could not be 100% completed without the NaviChips exclusive to the opposite version, not just due to being unable to complete the MegaChip library, but due to needing to complete said library in order to unlock the optional fights against the Omega versions of the game's bosses and earn their V5 Navichips. The games from 4 onward, however, did list all version-exclusive content (as well as event-only content) as Secret Chips, and did not require any interaction with other players or any event-exclusive chips in order to achieve 100% Completion Rockman.exe 3 Black was not a Japan-exclusive variant, it was the Japanese version of Blue. We just got both versions at the same time, with changed colour names for both, rather than getting a version with no colour name first and a second version released later. Also, there were only two boss fights exclusive to Black/Blue, one of which had a White-exclusive equivalent; all other version-exclusive content was equally divided between the two versions as well.
The battle network anime was my first reveal to the megaman series. However, now in terms of the alt. Universe of Megaman, I prefer Starforce personally. I wish that got more love
Honestly remembering fighting Bass makes me lose a bit of my energy to live... and remember beating him and gaining one of the most powerful chips in the game fills me with pride an accomplishment. Not only was he difficult to get to at the time but facing him makes me want to bang my head against a wall and scream HACKS!!
I hope it's come back in the future. I've been dreaming about Megaman Battle Network GO for mobile devices since i saw Pokemon Go for the first time. The use of geolocation to access different virtual places would be interesting.
Me and my brothers followed the games religiously they stopped playing at 4 but I continued playing them to this day they are my favorite games(we’re from Puerto Rico)
I’m ok with Megaman Battle Network’s story ending the way it did, but, I’m extremely bummed that there aren’t more games like it being made anymore. I loved Megaman Battle Network’s combat and Battle Chip system, and I’d kill to be able to get that experience again. Megaman Starforce was able to fill the Battle Network shaped void in my soul for a while, while also putting an interesting spin on the combat, but it barely lasted half as long as MBN, and we never even got Operation Shooting Star. I just want another MBN game, it doesn’t even have to have a story, I just want some good combat.
I honestly think the gameplay mechanics of mmbn can make for a great Pokemon game where instead of chips you have pokemon attacks. Atleast you'd have direct control over your pokemon in a 3x6 grid instead of just selecting attacks from a menu.
I absolutely love the Battle Network games, and I actually would say they were far ahead of the time, since they depicted a world where everything (including mundane household objects like kitchen appliances) was connected to the internet, much like how we have appliances and such connected to the internet and controlled via mobile phones. Not to mention the social commentary about the dangers of an inter-connected world, yet still managing to be a kid's game with those themes. I do wish that Capcom brought the Battle Network games back, or make a sequel series to them (asides from Star Force) that would have had like Net Navi versions of Mega Man X and the characters from the X, Zero, and ZX games (yes, I know Colonel was from the X games and has a Navi counterpart in BN5, as well as Zero.EXE in Network Transmission, but that's asides the point), since that was the only thing I really didn't like about Star Force was that it seemed to take the EXE timeline into it's own direction rather than moving on to doing a parallel to the X series.
Megaman Battle Network was my introduction to Mega Man (which is odd consider my age), and it even helped me discover another Capcom game, Boktai. Both of these series were very underrated. And I was bummed that Starforce ended with 3, but at least it was a fitting end story wise, and I do consider that one to have the best gameplay in that series.
Holy shit you talk about the one megaman series that got me into the megaman series!! And one of the best RPGs Ive ever played! Edit: the first Battle Network game I played was Battle Network 3, which is supposedly the HARDEST in the series. Looking back it isnt all that difficult, considering I turned into what people now call a "masocore" gamer. Im still left wondering why Nintendo didnt remake Pokèmon Emerald, CAUSE I WANT MY POKÈMON COLLECTING TO BE HARDER, DAMN IT!! MAKE IT AS HARD AS DARK SOULS, ILL STILL PLAY IT CAUSE IM THAT BATSHIT BENT ON TORTURING MYSELF WITH MY VIDEOGAMES!!! Yet another edit: have you thought about doing a video on Terraria? I think you might find that game a bit interesting
Joer'ct Drew I started my MegaMan experience with BattleNetwork 2 way back when it first came out, dunno why I didn't get the first one. Since then I've played every mainline MegaMan and all the side games including BattleNetwork 1-6 and Starforce 1-3 (currently working on 3 now actually)
3 is probably the easiest, tbh. There is just so much broken chip combos in that game it makes the actual Program Advances look like crap. And even though Bass GS is probably the most potent form Bass ever had, against this level of hax he is nothing but a joke. As for what is really hardest? I'd go with 5, because of not being able to get any strong chips at all until post game, plus having a less powerful soul system than 4 or 6, even with Chaos. And even once you have the strong chips, the final superbosses are still struggles. (Bass XX, Nebula Gray Omega)
3 is hard until you figure out NeoVari :D And I agree about 5 being the hardest, but mainly because of the liberating missions, especially much later in the game.
You forgot to mention 2 spinoff titles, megaman battlechip challenge, a even more card game-y approach to megaman, still in the battle network universe, it had long codes you could use to fight friends and also some special opponents (some of the codes were hidden in battle network 4, btw. Bn4 was the glitchiest game and had a lot of problems compared to the rest of the series), and the other game was japan exclusive, Rockman . EXE 4.5 real operation, it was a gba game where you would use one of many navis to do stuff, don't know much about it tbh, not being able to read Japanese. There is also a fan made 7th entry in the series being made called megaman battle network chrono x, it has a playable demo with multiplayer and stuff.
The problems with 4 were mostly an awful translation, a repetitive tournament arc, and lazy design that effectively forced you to play the game three times in order to unlock everything.
I love the Megaman Nt series so much I always have the access screen as my main computer desktop. (Thinking of putting on my home phone too) I miss the series. I should watch at least the first season again...
6:15 I'll never forget that time I lived in some apartments close to a college in a neighboring town, and found a PET with a ton of chips in the dumpster. I saw a phone case, and, since my little brother needed one, I picked it up, only to find that it had something in it. I slowly opened it up, afraid of what was inside, only to find a Megaman PET, with a ton of battle chips stuffed into the pockets. And, I mean A LOT of battle chips. The only thing wrong with it was that the batteries were dead, and it worked fine after I replaced them.
I remember the PET toys. I used to make them out of cardboard and my own battlechips cause I wanted one real bad. I did the same thing with the Yu-Gi-Oh duel disk in art class and my friends were blown away lol. Eventually I got the protoman PET but it felt useless cause all my friends were able to fight viruses but no matter how hard I shook mine I was barely able to get any. I bought so many action figures and other merch too to get battlechips but was never able to use them.
I really wonder what happened to Hub after he outlive his family? Except for Roll and probably future son X. Did they still live on earth in the old net or through a copy bot? Or they moved to the galactic net?
Honestly. Speaking as a big time Mega Man fan. People seriously need to let go of Battle Network. BN6 brought the series to a conclusion. A very satisfying one, may I add. And while projects like Chrono X are definitely nice, it's time to lay the series to rest imho. Now StarForce on the other hand is SEVERELY underrated. Sure, the main plot came to a conclusion by SF3 but a lot of holes were left, especially regarding Sirius. Hell, we didn't even get an anime season based on the third game, meanwhile I'm pretty sure Battle Network got all games covered! That's boosh.
The story got interesting, but the dumbed down combat of SF really turned off a lot of fans. And since the gameplay was the major draw, more so than the story, SF got sniped by its own bad combat changes.
I remember the Battle Network series as being the first games to get me emotionally invested. I cared about the characters, and I felt something at the conclusion of 6. It was a great series, and it ended on a high note
MMBN3 was the best one in the series, it actually went down in quality after that. I wish they would bring it back for the 3DS but I don't see that happening
Very, very sad topic indeed. I kinda wished we had BN7+ to see the life of Lan’s growth. But I feel finding antagonists and a good compelling story is really difficult for the series. It amazes me how the developers were able to do such a thing for 6 games. This could be irrelevant but I’m just going to throw it out there... there’s some fan made games that I think is worth looking at. Hopefully Capcom doesn’t attack them with lawsuits, and continue to revive the series. There aren’t many games with MMBN’s unique style of an RPG. Thank you for taking the time to read my opinions.

Negative Legend do starforce next please
Negative Legend Battle Network 3 Blue was my first game and I too bought it at Game Crazy when that... Was a thing haha
Negative legend plz make next video of mega man zero
So, basically, what happened to Battle Network? It ended.
One of the few Mega Man series to come to a satisfying conclusion.
I'm pretty sure the only other Mega Man series to reach a proper conclusion was the fellow GBA series, Mega Man Zero. And one hell of a conclusion that was.
I forgot that the Zero series actually got a conclusion. Curious, so only the GBA series got a proper ending.
Axel Rodd: Zero was ended, but sadly ZX is still there with a cliffhanger. That's a shame because I loved the openworld side scrolling style so much.
Saito People at this point have theorized that Thomas had eventually got the Reset he wanted by being far more patient than Albert. The proceeding events led to the world we see in Megaman Legends....even then there's still a cliffhanger because Volnutt is still on the moon.
Mega Man Star Force also ended properly and tied up most of the loose ends with the exception of the post-game..
My kid mind: Protoman is cooler than Shadow

The fact they discontinued the Battle Network series instead of perpetuating and innovating it, breaks my heart. This world is ripe for a mobile Battle Network game. Custom Navis, open world exploration, new chips, etc. Advertising is built in, there could be paid-for homepages & CPU’s like Google for example.
The idea builds itself, Capcom needs to get their collective shit together.
Imagine a battle network game in the real world like Pokemon go.
wow that's a really neat idea!
If only I have the money to fund this. It will make the world a better place
@@darkdemon4083 lol I'd be creating navis as we speak
Well, we're a few steps away from living in Battle Network, anyways.

And we still waitin..

This is my all time favorite game if not for a new game at least port it to the switch. I dont want to jailbreak my system :/

I wish Capcom would make a collection of Battle Network for the 3ds or Switch.
Maybe they eventually will make a Battle Network Legacy.
With online rankings
If we demand for it, they will eventually as a legacy collection. Still BS that no virtual console.
I'd like to see a remake where some stuff could be carried over from game to game, maybe even have some anime exclusive editions added.
If there is going to be a Battle Network Legacy collection, then they should include a online PvP mode.
I honestly couldn't stand the American dub. The Japanese one had better dialogue and didn't do stupid things like blur swords and censor out names.
I always disliked how the next games would magically forget all the amazing things Lan and Megaman did in the previous game. Lan should be a celebrity by the 4th game, and he should far outrank Chaud as an official in my opinion.
Well, it got mentioned every now and then, like for example in the N1 grand prix in MMBN3, but yeah, he didnt got the respect he deserved.
BlackWingedSeraph
It was annoying how his achievements were left in the background except in 5, but an Official is a government agent. LAN was a City Netbattler in 2, but he was never an official (even when being the main operator in 5) and still a student.
Skywardflare758 Maybe it was because LAN was still a student and his parents decided to keep some of his feats hush hush in an attempt to protect him?
In Megaman Battle Chip Challenge (not mentioned in the video), Lan actually has a fan that knows of his exploits that enters a tournament just for a chance to meet, thank and fight him. This fan directly mentions some of his last achievements but seeing as how this game was supposed to be between Battle Network 2 and 3 there's only so much Lan has done at that point.
Yeah by the 3rd one he would have been a disenfranchised recluse that dropped out of school and started his own megaman battle gym or something telling the world to screw off.
feelsbadman :'(
If I could name 1 game that deserve a modern remake, it would be Megaman Battle Network. Seriously, the story, characters and battle system are top notch!
honestly i think battle network doesnt need a remake i think a new series or a starforce continuation with a more refined battle system that mixes both starforce and battle network would be way cooler

I agree, although I’d absolutely adore a physical cartridge rerelease like they did with the Zero series.

RIP EXE 😭
Actually the gameplay itself is totally different with pokemon
@@alvarocious1528
Not really.
DarkIceKrabby that’s crazy, I had no idea people played competitively? Had every single battle network as a kid.
personally i think star force 3 was the high point of the competitive gaming. I had so much damn fun in competitive starforce 3.
Is BN3 still popular at all? I've played 3, 4, 6 and all of Starforce and time and time again I still go back and play 3 on my gameboy.

Why Capcom!? You've made tons of sequels for Megaman and Megaman X, why treat this game differently?
Kirby The Puffball i was impressed megaman x transcended to ps1 and 2. X was supposed to be snes megaman. Zero and .Exe were gba. Zx was Ds.
one of my favourite games of all times.
I get myself searching for a 7th game every year. =(
Battle network was my favorite MM series!! Thank you for bringing this to 2018!
the series ended with MegaMan becoming one of the best NetNavi. and in the game it ended when MegaMan fought off Gregar and Falazar and and did a 20 year montage of them growing up and MegaMan's companion getting married and a kid and apparently MegaMan has a relationship with Roll and have their own child Navi
Luckily I have played all the MMBN games multiple times but why would you spoil the end of mmbn6 like that? Also lmao how would that last thing even work?
yre Uhh...gives cyber a whole new meaning?
how is that possible
their made of data, unless someone programmed them to be able to...
I have a special place in my heart for this legendary series
Battle Network had the coolest looking Robot masters and bosses in the series. My favourite would be Fireman.EXE
My favorite MegaMan series by far. Beat all of them on my GBA when I was a child.
the p.e.t. wasn't Japan exclusive . I live in California and I bought one from Walmart
Sanginius on vacation true ;~; my cousin had one then he told me that Japan is literally across the ocean from them so that’s why California gets them. I got jealous
I had one from a Walmart in Ohio. Only ones they sold were the megaman and protoman ones if I remember correctly though.
I still own mine, it’s in a drawer next to my bed
Definitely saw the P.E.T’s at walmart Im from Texas and remember saving my lunch money to buy one. But then my friend got one first and I realized it wasn’t that cool and used my saved money for the newly released Pokémon leaf green instead. Yeah those P.E.T’s where like 40$ geez
He said that while literally having Battlechips with English text on them on screen.
The show was my first exposure to MegaMan, and I didn't quite get how it started off as a robot show, and I think it being basically Digimon works really well. I love it! The show is basically Digimon Tamers, and I like that. I also appreciate that they were the canonically connected in at least the games.
One of the first games I fell in love with, Metabots was another one.
Joey McE Medabots was amazing. I hope some way can be found to bring that series back.
Loved the GBA games even with the fucking bullshit random encounter rate
GravityZero I hated the critical hit ratio, I hated the emperor lols
AlexTenThousand and also Megaman Battle Network BattleChip Challenge..
Dont forget Rockman.EXE Operation Shooting Star.

all sword decks were sweet, used them primarily in every game. Muramasa, I think it was, was bad ass, don't remember which one it was in, but the one that did the damage based on how much you were missing. Life sword combos murdered so many things.
Anyone else became Boktai fans thanks to the crossover quest in BN4 and BN5?
"the eventual extinction of humanity" yep, thanks Dr. Cain :/
aliastheabnormal actually humanity didn't disappear, they still exist in legends which takes place at the end of the timeline.
He failed to mention a bunch of mmbn games like battle chip challenge, the mobile mmbn games, mmbn 4.5, and mm shooting star (mmbn version of starforce).
smh, not doing enough research.
casperd2100
Well, MM Battle Chip Challenge is just a spin-off game that takes place a few months after the events of MMBN3; Operate Shooting Star is a reboot of the original/first MMBN game with Star Force contents in it; and actually, EXE 4.5 Real Operation is, (according to its wiki) despite being labeled as 4.5, this game isn't canon to the main MMBN games, and is actually a game to test other playable Navis for MMBN5 and 6.
so much nostalgia.. i remember being so obsessed with this series. i had almost everything
Some of the omissions (errors?) from the video (sorry, Negative Legend)
1) _Mega Man Battle Chip Challenge_ is a side game for the series, released in 2003 and 2004 (depending on the region).
*Forget* typical MMBN gameplay, *but remember* all the characters you've seen from the original MMBN to MMBN3.
I know for a fact we had them here in the USA in fact I still have mine! .....tho I’m not sure if it works....
"The theme was 'a game you can enjoy while your heart pounds' "
Suddenly the darkchips in battle network 4 make sense!
Instead of having 2 appear when your HP gets low,
they'd appear and "tempt" the player if a fight was getting them
too excited/nervous and got their heart racing.
ME TOO!!
It hurts my heart as a veteran player to hear the words "Capcom's greatest creation out of the Mega Man franchise" so I looked up Capcom's sales numbers to ease my aging mind of how MegaMan II still sits on top.
Megaman Network Transmission on the gamecube was my first megaman game.
Battle Network 1 was my first Mega-Man game, I love this series
You forgot the Japan only title "operation shooting star" it came out in 2009 for the DS.
It was EA levels of bullshit.
aliastheabnormal Not helping was the fact that it's a shit game
Zero Ace Capcom tried to sell Battle Network 1 unchanged to a world that not only played the other 5 sequels but Starforce 3. I believe saying OSS is a shit game needed no saying so I said nothing. There's a reason why Nintendo updated its remakes of previous generations of Pokemon to at least make them playable by modern standards instead of shoving the GBA code into a DS cart like Capcom did.
aliastheabnormal No, they didn't just do that
They also remixed one or two songs and applied an echo filter to the rest of the soundtrack
YES. BATTLE NETWORK.
It was one of my favorite series and I’m glad you brought up this.
I love and miss this series so much I saw the title and had to watch thanks
Capcom hurry up and release a battle network collection on switch already. You're just leaving money on the table..
Capcom could definitely come back with this concept allowing you to build your own net navi and you can collect battle chips separately .
Brigade Leader Haruhi Suzumiya that was the Original Mega Man Series.
THIS GAME WAS MY JAM! Played MMBN 1 to 6! along with the megaman zero series! Great times!
The better question is Why was Megaman Starforce not continued?
Aidan Forshaw the pvp was damn amazing
Spoiler below. Don't click if you don't want to be spoiled.

The last game concluded the story that began in the first game.
That being said, you can infer that the endings of both the first and second games are cliffhangers (which they are).
yeah, 3 was a definitive ending to his dad's arch
Title Question answer: The storyline had a definitive conclusion with no room for expansion.
I love this series so much it’s like 50% of my childhood alongside Pokémon
It’s hard to enjoy now though cuz the fandom is a boiling dumpster fire and I had my own personal qualms with it
I still love the series but I fear making any content for it...
Aaron Byrd I loved Megaman Battle Network. In fact, it was my gateway into the Megaman series. The only Pokèmon game I loked as a kid was Pokèmon Emerald. All the others where too easy, while Emerald provided a more difficult challenge in its own ways (like the psychic sisters having 2 Pokèmon apiece vs. only having 1 apiece in Pokèmon Ruby and Saphire.)
I also remember getting ahold of my dads copy of DOOM and DOOM II for the GBA, and while I was originally scared of the demons, when I found out how to shoot the gun I immediately stated laughing as I started to brutally shoot them in the face... until I found the chainsaw!! My 5 year old self loved the original DOOM games, I still do.
Edit:I apparently type to fast and had to delete a letter in between the I and l at the beginning of my comment
you mean the psychic gym leaders? they are twins and ones a boy.
demiremi yes! Thank you for the correction
What's wrong with the fandom?
Good video, but I see several minor inaccuracies in the description of the game series:
All six main numbered games in the Battle Network series had event-exclusive Chips that were completely unobtainable through normal gameplay.
The games from 4 onward, however, did list all version-exclusive content (as well as event-only content) as Secret Chips, and did not require any interaction with other players or any event-exclusive chips in order to achieve 100% Completion
Rockman.exe 3 Black was not a Japan-exclusive variant, it was the Japanese version of Blue.
This shit was so cool, especially the show
Battle Network only further enhanced my love for Megaman, and is one of my favorite entries. Loved the nostalgia, great video
The battle network anime was my first reveal to the megaman series. However, now in terms of the alt. Universe of Megaman, I prefer Starforce personally. I wish that got more love
Starforce universe is a direct continuation of the Battle Network universe, set in the future.
Arghal y Varghul I know
Honestly remembering fighting Bass makes me lose a bit of my energy to live... and remember beating him and gaining one of the most powerful chips in the game fills me with pride an accomplishment. Not only was he difficult to get to at the time but facing him makes me want to bang my head against a wall and scream HACKS!!
“Jack in, Megaman!”
"Execute!"
OMFG I completely forgot about that and the NDS version had it with actual voice over!
I hope it's come back in the future. I've been dreaming about Megaman Battle Network GO for mobile devices since i saw Pokemon Go for the first time. The use of geolocation to access different virtual places would be interesting.
Megaman Battle Network Chrono X (Fan Made)
Loved every aspect of this series, gameplay, art style, and music
It had a following in the Caribbean!
Eternity's Scribe I remember having the first game in Barbados
Me and my brothers followed the games religiously they stopped playing at 4 but I continued playing them to this day they are my favorite games(we’re from Puerto Rico)
I love this series so much. Still have some if them to this day. Annddd still pick em up here again to re-live those memories
What happened to Medabots?
It just never got out of Japan and keeps going.
@Shaman Xeed When ?
There was actually a starforce and exe crossover title too i believe
Because only Japan have eights to the cool shit
mohammad mehmood, they make it lmao.
There's a translation patch for anyone interested
DINOSAUR KING? AW HELL YEAH
This is extremely informative and well done in my opinion. I enjoyed watching every second and will subscribe. Keep up the good work man!
3 is hard until you figure out NeoVari :D
And I agree about 5 being the hardest, but mainly because of the liberating missions, especially much later in the game.
This series was my favorite when I was 12, especially Mega Man NT Warriors Axess. I loved the transformation scenes and I still love them.
They’re coming to the switch!!
And for the first time in MMBN history, it's finally coming to Sony (PS4/PS5) and Valve (Steam) platforms! Will there be cross platform play?
You unearthed a lot of childhood memories. Thank you.
Best Megaman series ever. I wish Capcom would either do a remake or a remaster of the entire series for the Switch
I love the Megaman Nt series so much I always have the access screen as my main computer desktop. (Thinking of putting on my home phone too)
I miss the series. I should watch at least the first season again...
My first Megaman andconsole game was Megaman X5. English isn't my first language so back then i had no idea what it was saying in dialogues.
it turned into Star force
Oof
6:15 I'll never forget that time I lived in some apartments close to a college in a neighboring town, and found a PET with a ton of chips in the dumpster. I saw a phone case, and, since my little brother needed one, I picked it up, only to find that it had something in it. I slowly opened it up, afraid of what was inside, only to find a Megaman PET, with a ton of battle chips stuffed into the pockets. And, I mean A LOT of battle chips. The only thing wrong with it was that the batteries were dead, and it worked fine after I replaced them.
I got battle network 3 white version when i was like 5 years old lol
I remember the PET toys. I used to make them out of cardboard and my own battlechips cause I wanted one real bad. I did the same thing with the Yu-Gi-Oh duel disk in art class and my friends were blown away lol. Eventually I got the protoman PET but it felt useless cause all my friends were able to fight viruses but no matter how hard I shook mine I was barely able to get any. I bought so many action figures and other merch too to get battlechips but was never able to use them.
2:13 Network transmission was never on ps2 it was only on GameCube
I really wonder what happened to Hub after he outlive his family? Except for Roll and probably future son X.
Did they still live on earth in the old net or through a copy bot? Or they moved to the galactic net?
They should remake it as a mobile game!!! This would be perfect for your phone
my first battlenetwork game was red sun and it was freaking amazing. really good jrpg. I hope it makes a comeback
They should honestly bring this back with the ds or something, and add an attachment where you can use your old chips from the toys with it
they definitely should. and if i remember correctly there was a battle chip gate toy that you could use to slot in your chips in game for the gba.
I wanted that sooooooo badly, it would make it feel like you were actually in the manga or show!
demiremi exactly! However, it could be more advanced and real time versus the loading aspect the gba chip gates had
fieboy12 yeah I can see that working if they choose to implement it.
They should, but they won't. They'd rather make another street fighter and another port of the side scrolling Megaman games
Just a small correction, Transmission was not released for PS2. Only for GC, thank you for your work! Amazing vid.
Andre Fergie, third versions are always the best (battle network, starforce, zero).
Best megaman game ever made
Very, very sad topic indeed.
NT warrior was the best anime of my childhood beating even Yu-Gi-Oh!, I've liked second season more though.
