    Excellent review! The storage part is why I justified the price of this playshelf. Why spend good money on the play kits if you cannot properly organize them? Maybe others have found another way, but this was my solution!!!

    I love it but I just can’t get past that 400 dollar price tag that just isn’t realistic for me.

    If it was full solid wood ( I'm a snob haha) I don't think the price would be bad. If you think about it, it's super multipurpose, technically much older kids could use it too. If you buy one now, your kid can have many many years of use and when you think of cost per year of use, it's super insignificant. I just didn't buy it becsuse it's not solid wood and I know that my son destroys anything plywood. He even broke the lovevery block set box. He's super rough so I go for very solid built oak or walnut. I love lovevery, but I'm bitter that they're charging 400 for plywood. My solid oak 6 sitter dining table from article is 1000, so 400 for plywood, and a shelf at that, seems steep.

      I can't believe he broke the block set box!!! That's wild! I accidentally kicked it the other week and almost broke my toe haha but the box was totally fine! Haha definitely sounds like you know your kid and are doing what's best for him!!

      @@confidentlymom ugh ya he's...wild. he actually messed with the inside of the wood where the multiple wood pieces are attached until some parts came apart. Anyone who says boys and girls are the same and that its all societal constructs is crazy, I have never met little girls like some of the boys I've met lol. Girls are so much easier. My daughter is like...a different species compared to him. There are a few exceptions but overall, boys are crazy lol

    Oops apparently I said something to upset the YT filters 🙈 I wanted to thank you for the review! I'm not I'm the market for a new shelf and was honestly shocked by the price but your explanation definitely highlighted the important features (more so than the actual product page I think!) The back storage compartment looks so helpful! I find that my Ikea shelf is too deep anyway so it totally is useless space. I didn't even realize it was there because it's so far down the photo reel on their website-definitely something they should highlight front and center!

      Personally, I love it! We have the IKEA BESTA which is a common "cheap" option recommended and this gets SO MUCH MORE USE! I initially didn't love the depth once I assembled it, but within a day realized how much I love the depth because of how deep some of our trays/activities are that literally only fit on the top of this or on an actual table so 10/10 loving it! I look at it as another piece of furniture - not just a "toy shelf", which I'm okay with spending money on.

    I still cannot justify spending $400 on a play shelf which itself isn’t involved in any way for the baby’s development 🙃just holding toys. The sprout kids shelf is only $115 or something. Am not sponsored by them or linked to them but have ordered mine at Sprout kids.

      You are definitely not alone!
      The Sprout shelf you are referring to though is $119 and only 1 level though. Sprout's two level shelf (more comparable size to Lovevery's) is actually $300 and doesn't have a back, hidden storage, or the trays or bins.
      Sprout Kids is great and I talk about them in my montessori shelves buying guide! If you ever shop with them again, you can use code TCM for 10% off your order :) sprout-kids.com/?ref=rachelritlop3p

    Yeah I saw it and then I saw the price ahahaha. Is beautiful but we have a very sturdy shelf from living spaces that my toddler loves. Once we tried the ECR4kids one that looks very similar to the one from lovevery (without the storage compartment) and she hated it, she never approached to anything. So we had to return the one from living spaces, I think it has to do with the fact that toddlers hate transitions and changes. But yeah that shelf is beautiful 🤩

    • @confidentlymom
      @confidentlymom  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha you and literally everybody else! Yeah I have the ECR4kids one on my montessori shelf buying guide I'm finishing up today! That hidden storage for us was just so invaluable (re: so many wooden toys and FL humidity makes the garage a no go lol)
      I think toddlers also go through phases of just not being into shelf work too! My daughter went through a practical life phase and wouldn't touch anything on her shelf. Now she is all about being outside 24/7 again. She definitely prefers activities on the shelf, not toys since turning about 2.5 years old. Have you found the same?

      Well regarding your question, my toddler was very into shelf activities since she was 11 months, she loved puzzles since that moment till now, she loved posting activities, sorters and all that kind of stuff, I remember she could be posting pompoms for like an hour while I was making dinner, omg it was beautiful 🤩 , now she is very into using scissors and glue 🤣. The only time she didn’t wanna touch anything was that time, it took me like a week to figure that out 😵‍💫, I suppose at some point she will just had to use it but I didn’t wait for it 😅.

      @@confidentlymom oh yeah, when we started we used the kidicut scissors because they are plastic and they only cut paper. That was when my toddler was 18 months old, then around 20 I saw a lot of progress and we changed to the Nienhuis Montessori scissors 9cm and they are the best. Now she is 2.5 years old and today she started cutting strips in a whole letter sheet I could see how proud was she of herself 🤩. I got lots of Montessori cutting activities from Etsy and she gets very exited every time, I totally recommend you trying some 😉.

    I had no idea lovevery had a shelf like this ! Is it made in the us ? We have purchased from sprout and have considered the luce shelf once we grow out of space using the infant shelf .

    • @confidentlymom
      @confidentlymom  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      All of Lovevery's products are made in China to my knowledge! Didn't double check on this one.
      I do LOVE the Luce shelf too since you can customize it and use it as just a regular piece of furniture in the future with how adjustable it's height is. I talk about that one in the blog post on montessori shelves. If you shop at Sprout use code TCM for 10% off sprout-kids.com/?ref=rachelritlop3p!
      Honestly you can't go wrong with either though! I think they both work well in other areas of the home for the future - with the Luce definitely being more versatile, but the Lovevery giving you that storage. I also like that Lovevery has the back, so toys cant fall behind/under.
      If I was done having kids with just toddlers and up in the house, I'd probably go with the Luce, but we have a baby and probably will have another kid, and need storage so Lovevery wins for us right now!

      Oh gosh I have NO idea, but i do remember it was HEAVY. It's over 100 lbs and *if I recall correctly* one box was the shelf and the other was just the accessories. Anddd i do think it took a couple weeks but I also got it in the early days when it kept going on backorder so don't quote me on anything there because it may have even been a presale? I honestly can't remember but it definitely was longer than a week!

    • @confidentlymom
      @confidentlymom  ปีที่แล้ว

      but with the heavy piece said, it doesn't feel like that once assembled, it was just because it was so condensed, i move it around by myself all the time haha but couldn't move the box

    • @kmweiler89
      @kmweiler89 ปีที่แล้ว

      No worries! I'm mostly concerned about the shelf box. I found the shot around the 1:15 mark in your video, and it looks like if you laid it down it would have a similar footprint to the built shelf; probably slightly bigger. I just can't approximate the depth (height if laid down) that I can't see! I'm assuming its pretty close in depth to the smaller box (6'-10"), but if it's significantly over 12" it might not be in the cards for us. Lovevery only delivers this item in the US now, so I'm hoping a friend can deliver to me in Canada :) Also, couple weeks for delivery is not bad at all :) Just hoping it's not months!

      I obviously can't say anything for 100% certain but honestly just cannot see how thats possible with this one... it's SO deep that I just think the laws of physics wouldn't let it tip over if a child climbs like other furniture.

    Hi! New subscriber here! I found you while reading LOVEVERY Kit reviews. I love that you give suggestions to similar toys in your blog!
    Which of the following kits would you choose if you could only have one? "The Helper", "The Enthusiast" or "The Investigator"? If you could also explain why that would help me a lot too! Thank you very much!! 😊

    • @confidentlymom
      @confidentlymom  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Of the 2 year old ones I'd actually go with the free spirit above the ones you mentioned! It has the most "toys" with the longest life span (I gave them to my daughter at 2.5 and probably could've given half of them earlier and that's our FAVORITE book from this year and they last longer than the other items I think...)
      As far as choosing between the 3 you mentioned honestly It's SO hard. They each have really stand out items and some that can be easily duped for less. They are each well rounded too so there's something that's bound to peak a kids interest no matter what they are into... I'd probably get the investigator play kit though since I think the items last the longest.
      In the helper and enthusiast the paint sticks and glue box are definitely some of my daughters favorites that we still get weekly use out of, but you can DIY those.
      The puzzle in the enthusiast was her least favorite from the 2 year old kits (she loves loves loves the one in the investigator though). I personally don't care for a play sink, so that kind of nixed the helper in my current suggestion to you. And the enthusiast can be recreated for less unless you REALLY want a weigh scale.
      For me that year's priority goes: 1) free spirit 2) investigator with the helper coming in VERY close almost tied and then my "skip" would be the enthusiast if I was being REALLY choosy.

      @Hitogata 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @The Confused Mom Thank you sooooooo much for such a detailed and super super helpful response 🤩 I have 2 kits left from the 1 year subscription I purchased, so I'll skip the helper and the enthusiast and get the free spirit and the investigator instead.
