    You got the TH-cam Award, but I think you deserve a humanitarian award as well. Thank you. This video helped me tremendously (as have others.) Recently, I started CIC due to Bulbar Stricture. Sometimes there is sediment in the urine and then sometimes it is really clear. My urologist didn't know the cause or just didn't care enough to explain. The stricture was diagnosed as a result of recurrent infections, so I want to keep current with info on vaccines.

    Doc, I thought there was preventative measures for the ladies and for men. Ladies should pee after sex or any activity down under. Second is that they should wipe a certain way, then to drink an alkaline drink. Then there is the matter related to the Ph and biome of the vagina. Then there is washing externally with baking soda diluted in water. Personal hygiene is a must as well including certain panties. Is everything I read before and was told by gynaes is wrong?

    • @meluvfriends

    • @xxsaruman82xx87
      @xxsaruman82xx87 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t think it’s right to claim all of this information is from gynaecologists. Vaginal douching is associated more with adverse outcomes than it with positive ones. Drinking alkaline water is commonly recommended for urinary incontinence, not UTIs. And, yes, one can take all the precautions one can and still contract a UTI

    • @ferreirog
      @ferreirog ปีที่แล้ว

      @@xxsaruman82xx87, yes from gynaes, a lady a knew suffered from UTI all the time. The question should have been, where are they from? South Africa! Also, I did not mention douching the vagina as it is a self cleaning organ.

    Last year a removed a huge (endometriosis) nodule located on my bowel which caused me constipation and, as a consequence, lots of bacteria moved from my bowel to my bladder. I spent the years before the surgery with UTI monthly. Sometimes even twice a month. I used so many antibiotics that at some point I became resistant to everything. I then discovered d-mannose and started to take it every day, to prevent and to cure when symptoms were not complicated, it worked for a while but didn't solve the problem.
    Since the surgery, I had a good year without any problems. Until last week. Last week I started again to feel my bladder suffering, with all the UTI symptoms.
    Listening that there is a vaccine is a truly relief, I can't even imagine to go back to my life before surgery.
    I can't thank you enough for sharing it...none here (I am based in Italy) talks about that.

    I am loving your videos! I am a little confused about the information on antibiotic resistance you've included here. It seems like you are positing that when a person is effected with a bacterial infection, it comes from a sort of personal biome. The way I understand it, when a person gets over an infection, the offending bacteria is eliminated from the host entirely. Antibiotics generally create resistance on a larger population scale, but research does indicate that recurring MRSA infections are often a product of household colonization and asymptomatic carriers (Prevention of Recurrent Staphylococcal Skin Infections, C Buddy Creech MD, Duha Al-Zubeidi MD, Stephanie Fritz MD). I'm ten years a nurse aide at a 350 bed hospital and this is something that has always confused me - we often treat MRSA like once you have it, you always have it, isolation rooms for life. Please help this confused soul - do you carry your infections with you the rest of your life? How does that mechanism work and where to they hide?

    I had so many uti’s young to the point they strapped me down and it was the first time I said mom… they said my ureters didn’t connect right and I would grow into it. Several years later they said there was reflux so it actually sucked pee back with bacteria? (Never heard of it since and it’s really weird so idk about that). Only years without or once/twice in a year was when I was 12-16. 17 I had one like every 2/3 months, 18 I had months I had it 2 or 3 times somehow and was supposed to go to the ER at one point for a very resistant kidney infection as the ‘rescue’ shot I was allergic to. I didn’t get to go and took a repeat course of an early med and thought it was okay, but had a yearlong pregnancy scare due to smell sensitivity causing nausea and gagging and generally feeing terrible and I went back almost exactly a year after that uti and was told I had one, did the antibiotic and it worked and I was good after it. Seems that I got chronic fatigue syndrome from the stress on my body which 3ish years later still isn’t okay at all as no one can figure it out and stimulate type drugs aren’t okay with my body for some reason. Now also learning I probably already had Lupus and it caused it to progress so I’m so glad there figuring something out, I hope no one has anything like this when obviously they know there body isn’t going to get better on it’s own and uti’s would be inevitable otherwise.

      Primary biliary cirrhosis (a type of damage to bile duct) is associated with developing UTIs, but no evidence, to say that liver damage directly causes UTIs. A UTI is a urinary tract infection, and the liver is not part of the urinary tract. However, liver damage and in particular the development of ascites raises the risk of infection, so in theory there could be some indirect association

      @@xxsaruman82xx87 It is impressive that it dates back 2000 years ago as proven medicine with highest anti bacterial potency and even before recorded history. But do take medication like antibiotics, big pharma adores you destroying yourself while you pay for it. Never think for yourself or listen to anyone, and by apple.

      @@J4ckCr0w Proven? Show me the clincal studies. Yes, oregano has been shown to have some antibacterial properties, but it is not a substitute for antibiotics. If oregano was so effective, there would have been no need to synthesise and manufacture antibiotics. I can think for myself, but my decisions are based on solid, hard cold evidence. Clearly, yours are not.
      Besides, if oregano were comparable to antibiotics, as you claim, then taking it over years for prophylaxis would put you at risk of developing antibiotic resistant UTIs. Not a particularly nice prospect

    Does it start in your microbiome and diet?

      No, a more acidic environment is helpful in preventing UTIs. The bacteria that cause UTIs (mostly from your large bowel, a slightly alkaline environment) do not survive well in acidic environments. Normally, urine is acidic, which kills the bacteria.
