    I got circumcised almost a year ago, as a 37-year-old adult, mainly due to comfort reasons (my foreskin was very tight, almost bordering phimosis). I am very happy with the result, but I firmly believe that circumcision should require the consent of the person getting cut and therefore be performed only on adults (or at least teens).

      Dr. Malik shares the following: “…It's important to understand that some men who undergo circumcision at birth develop a feeling of anger and shame and resentment in having that circumcision done. They often feel like they've lost their bodily autonomy and they are misunderstood very frequently by both society and medical professionals…”
      Dr. Malik further shares: “…I think, if you're struggling from this, I'm so, so sorry that you are struggling and feeling unhappy with either what you were born with or what happened to you shortly after birth that was not done by your consent…”

    I’m 27 and A couple of months ago I got a circumcision. If you 100% need to do it cause of a medical reason or want to do it . You should do it. But if you are comfortable in having foreskin and have no problems . DO NOT DO IT.
    I lost a lot of the sensation I use to have . Sex isn’t as enjoyable for me as it once was .
    If you do decide to do it then go with a good Urologist . Preferably one that has many years doing circumcisions . My doctor did an amazing job . Pricey but an amazing work.
    After the surgery understand you will have many days where you can’t walk . SO BE PREPARED TO TAKE DAYS OFF. You will be very very sore . The first couple of days you will have A lot of pain,inflammation and discomfort around and on your stick .
    ALL IN ALL if I could I would have saved the pain and time and never done it .

      Thanks for being honest and open about your experience. I think what you mentioned is most men's concerns about circumcision, whether it will change the sensation or how much you feel. I had people try to persuade me in my teens to get this and their reasons were purely esthetic (in general not related to me or anything). I didn't understand the big fuss behind being uncircumcised. If you have a medical reason or a hygiene reason, that's different but it's never caused me any problems.

    I had undergone a circumcision at the age of 7 under the recommendation of my pediatrician. When I became an adult, I had an issue of a quite large suture tunnel. As an adult a urologist tried to correct the issue, but ended up giving me several stitches in the area (to prevent infection according to him), which opened up anyway. I had lots of pain and scar tissue. I saw another urologist who informed me that the original circumcision was not a good one and identified 3 other suture tunnels that I was not even aware of at the time. That urologist told me that I had been through enough trauma and to just makes sure that I keep the area very clean. Acupuncture and taking serapeptase helps with the penile pain and scar tissue. Vigorous exercise also helps with blood flow to the area and preventing the penile pain.

    I didn't get the snip but my brother did. We only first talked about it when we were in our 30s. He told me that he was not happy because of two reasons. One reason is that he has to use lube to pleasure himself and the other reason is that over time it become less sensitive around the tip. However we both were born with the same problem of tight foreskin. I fixed the problem myself before I hit puberty. Every time I took a bath, I would stretch the skin back and over time it became a non-issue. The tip of your sausage is an organ that is not meant to be exposed until it has to perform a specific task. The foreskin is meant to be a protective hood. And no, I've never had an infection, etc,, in that area. My sausage looks just as healthy is it did 30 years ago.

      Part of what made circumcision so popular in the United States is mothers would pay too much attention to their boys touching themselves as you did, which is normal childhood body exploration, & how most boys in the world learn on their own, when & how far back they can retract their foreskin. During the Victorian era, Christian mothers' unfounded concerns over boys touching their own bodies was a big component of why the medical industry's predatory medical practice of circumcision was so sellable to the populous. The medical industry was able to sell circumcision as a service to prevent such bathroom activities, that the medical industry claimed to cause all kinds of psychosis, blindness, & illness, in the Anglophone countries, United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, & New Zealand. The other Anglophone cultures have tended to eliminate or drastically reduce infant circumcision from medical practice for the nightmare that it is. In the United States, publicly funded medicaid pays for male infant circumcision in 38 states, all the associated & collateral NICU services, revival circumcision, surgical corrections for meatal stenosis, & so forth. At the same time, most states have laws prohibiting any type of female genital cutting or pricking, & United States litigators attempt to claim we are not a culturally biased nation.

      The facility where Dr. Malik works does not do infant/adolescent circumcisions; they require the owner of the penis to be the one signing the consent form. To be clear, there is a marked DIFFERENCE between circumcising the UNDELVEOPED penis of an infant/adolescent and circumcising the DEVELOPED penis of an adult. Circumcision is, by definition, an "alteration" and a permanent and irreversible procedure that DOES affect/impact intended form and function.
      Mess with body parts that are not developed or fully developed and there will be retarded development and arrested functioning. The common damages of circumcision (i.e., skin-bridges, horrible or misaligned circumcision scars [offsetting the Raphe], twisting/curving in any direction, early onset of E.D., etc.) have become "normalized" over the years.

      "Lee Gregory was circ'd at 20 (and the outcome would have been the SAME if he was circ'd within the first week of being born)."; this perspective would be HIGHLY inaccurate and irresponsible... Roughly 120 baby boys die each year in America alone (burying them is among the greatest grief to bear); another roughly 16,000 circumcisions are botched each year, affecting/impacting their mental health, and 40% of them commit suicide (another unnecessary grief). There IS a [remote] possibility that you would not be here today if circ'd early in life, or if you suffered a botch circ.
      Dr. Malik shares the following: “…It's important to understand that some men who undergo circumcision at birth develop a feeling of anger and shame and resentment in having that circumcision done. They often feel like they've lost their bodily autonomy and they are misunderstood very frequently by both society and medical professionals…”
      Dr. Malik further shares: “…I think, if you're struggling from this, I'm so, so sorry that you are struggling and feeling unhappy with either what you were born with or what happened to you shortly after birth that was not, um, done by your consent…”

      To perform this on babies and children on the pretext that it’s clean, or some other dreamt up nonsense is brutal mutilation.
      The cutting of the umbilical cord is unnecessary as it is designed to fall away naturally, it’s only cut for convenience, the foreskin is not designed to fall away and the person doing the cutting hasn’t got to live with the consequences all of their life, they are criminals.
      People who mutilate babies and children for no other reason than their own warped ideas are criminals including religious, hygienic and cosmetic beliefs. You have an appendix and to this day medical professionals have no idea why. There are things on your body that do not serve a purpose. Does that mean get rid of them, no. Did they serve a purpose at one time, probably. But to suggest it is a crime to cut off skin, is insane. I work in surgery and the myth that babies are wide awake while the surgeon cuts off the skin while the baby is screaming is a lie. I had it down to both my kids and I don't regret it. I can tell you when we do have men who come in for urology surgery that have foreskin, it makes it a bit more difficult to do cases. But I will say, there are not that many men these days who have foreskin. Not to mention, it is disgusting and very unattractive. Harbors bacteria and urine that most men cannot get out after peeing. Men who have foreskin don't get out all the urine, retract their foreskin, and the urine continues to dribble while caught in the excess skin and sits there.

Just like all those circumcised Africans they told would be safe from HIV, who ended up contracting it from false sense of security. The only way the circumcision helped was by forcing them to be celibate though the height of the pandemic. Once the circumcised group caught up to the uncircumcised group they pulled the plug on the study and used that 60% less likely figure they got out of it. No doubt in my mind the 40 studies she mentioned were carried out in flawed ways as well. Like I'm betting they compared the first ejaculation the circumcised group had in 3 months because of the surgery forcing them to be celibate, and compared it to the regular ejaculations the uncircumcised group was having and found that they both got relief. Circumcision studies are always carried out without taking many other factors into account.

    Actually foreskin has a purpose to protect sensitive glans, without foreskin it's always irritated by clothes. In my case I had tight foreskin when I was teenager but then doctor explained me that I need to stretch it and open glans regularly, after I did that for some time it was easily coming back and forth and stayed that way so I could decide if I want to keep my glans open or closed. I used to keep it open for few years and I can say, this is distractive, glans still was sensitive to clothes and distracted me often. Now I keep my glans closed under foreskin and its much more comfortable, it opens itself when erected.

    I am uncut, 44 y/o, and went until 40 being in pain due to tight foreskin retraction. It was at this time I discussed circumcision with specialists and continued my research. My decision was to stretch, went from two fingers to now six, I continue to stretch regularly, have stretch marks as proof. I no longer have pain and love myself.
    It took time and effort, I wish I would have known as a teenager, however, the stigma and shame is real and crushing, I have self confidence issues and continue to heal my mind from the toxic misconceptions and misinformation spewed out by media, Hollywood, and people who have no clue. My foreskin is far more sensitive than the skin elsewhere and provides an exceptional level of pleasure that I can't imagine simply cutting off.

    • @wiseberr
      @wiseberr 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@OsakaJoe01 Actually, Argantonis speaks a partial truth and so do you. I would say even if the whole clitoris is not removed, removing the tip of the clitoris is a big deal. And I felt the point of Argantonis’s comment was that the clitoris, and not the female version of the foreskin (clitoral hood) is operated on in a “female circumcision”, so you should not compare male and female circumcisions.
      There ARE, unfortunately, ways of removing the whole clitoris with a deeper and more severe/invasive surgery, though I have never seen this done (thankfully).
      I am an OBGYN who unfortunately has seen many women from Africa with female circumcisions done in their home country, or female genital mutilation/cutting.
      If anyone would like to educate themselves, they can read about the types at the World Health Organization’s website. There are generally 4 types of cutting, some that specifically remove some or all of clitoris, some that remove the labia, and some that close off part of the vaginal opening. The type of cutting done is often cultural/regional, but I have seen the [tip of the] clitoris removed a large majority of the time in my patients. Regardless, female “circumcisions” are nothing like male circumcisions and when they are mentioned are generally NEVER talking about just removing the female equivalent of foreskin (clitoral hood). The benefits that Dr. Malik presents for male circumcision virtually do not exist for female circumcision (with extremely rare exception, like phimosis which is similar to paraphimosis).
      I would say it is best to debate the benefits/risks of male circumcisions in a completely different conversation from female circumcisions.

    I was circumcised as a 6 year old for religious reasons by my parents. I'm over 50 now and I still remember the event! Needless to say I was traumatized by it since I can still remember it now. My feeling is that the operation was botched, which as a child you are in no position to determine on your own, but many years later it becomes apparent. Not only do I have reduced sensitivity as an adult, I still remember in the immediate years after it that there was still scabbing and scarring around the location of the old foreskin's cut point. In one particular instance, I remember pulling at an old scab, and an entire vein pulled right out with it! Yet more trauma to remember. Unfortunately when I was growing up, government health care still covered such procedures as legitimate medical procedures, even though there was no real health issue to do it, just religious tradition. The government no longer covers such religious procedures anymore, too late for me. This is a barbaric religious tradition that needs to be banned by all governments in the world, especially the ones that are theological in nature. Time to grow up and evolve religions, health practices from thousands of years ago are no longer relevant these days!

    At age 30 and again at age 64, four doctors (two dermatologists, one urologist and one internal medicine doc) all prescribed circumcision following lab tests (age 30) and one biopsy (age 64). They were all wrong, including the biopsy lab. Cleanliness was never in question, and culture dishes never grew anything. After some long, drawn-out testing of my own by age 31, I figured that problem was a fixed drug eruption. I abandoned two specific prescription meds and haven't had that problem again. At age 64 dermatologist suspected balanitis but biopsy lab said psoriasis. She prescribed expensive psoriasis cream with serious side effects, which I refused to use when she refused a follow-up explanation. She wasn't correct on this either, and apparently neither was the biopsy lab as I never had psoriasis before or since. I haven't figured out what the latter problem was, but as I turn 73 I haven't had either problem recur. My conclusion is too often doctors get snip-happy and prescription-happy if they see a foreskin.

      The facility where Dr. Malik works, does NOT do infant/adolescent circumcisions. Since 1996, the American Academy of Pediatrics' FULL reports, inclusive of its 2012 full report, reaffirmed in 2018, has been suggesting/recommending that MALE INFANTS AND CHILDREN BE LEFT INTACT so that THEY (the male person possessing the subject penis) can make the decision when/after THEY reach adulthood (age 18) and THEY can sign the surgery consent form themselves. Mess with body parts that are not developed or fully developed and there will be retarded development and arrested functioning.
      Dr. Malik shares the following: “…It's important to understand that some men who undergo circumcision [at birth] develop a feeling of anger and shame and resentment in having that circumcision done.

    I think it's been mentioned multiple times, but it's one thing as an adult to go through the surgery and decide that for yourself, and another to have it done to you as a baby without any input on your part. People should be able to choose what happens to their body, and I can't see why allowing it to happen to babies without their consent to ever be okay.

    • @edwardma-6559
      @edwardma-6559 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Circumcision is absolutely unnecessary in infants (babies, newborns) and healthy young children who cannot consent or decide. It is a terrible and cruel male gnital mutilation that must be rejected, prohibited and punished. Circumcision damages the glans for life. Circumcision has no benefits or advantages in healthy babies and children because the foreskin is the best skin because it has many important and beneficial sexual and protective functions, thousands of nerve endings, veins and blood capillaries, therefore the foreskin must be kept intact and wash the glans in each bath or shower to prevent infections such as balanitis or urinary tract.
      Do not circumcision. Circumcision destroy your sexual pleasure and sensitivity because circumcision dries out and keratinizes the glans. Clean penis during bath, after urination and sex to prevent the risk of any problem. Use condoms to protect HIV and STD. Phimosis is not a disease to worry about unless there is any irritation, infection of the foreskin. Any irritation, infection, urinary tract infection is solve by medicine. Many people live with phimosis and enjoy sex life. Paraphimosis may go away on its own or solve by gently press the swelling foreskin and push forward. Doctor may suggest circumcision because of their bloody money business. But do not circumcision. Again saying clean penis during bath, after urination and sex to prevent the risk of any problem.
      The foreskin is a healthy natural tissue that provides protection, lubrication, pleasure and benefits for both sexual partners therefore the foreskin must be kept intact.
      Circumcision is an unnecessary and dangerous technique (on Newborns) that does not provide any real benefic. Fortunately, in Spain, most newborns are not circumcised. I read about how the payment system works in the United States. Merely the procedure is carried out in most cases without any medical reason. The ony reason why doctors and hospitals carry up the circumcision is because they profit from it since it involves a lot of money and the insurers take care of the costs, it's basically a business. Please Americans, don't circumcise your sons. It is a procedure in which the child goes through a horrible pain and experience. There are more risks than benefits and scientifist studies in most countries of the world(except USA and Isreal) have stated that "there are no scientific reasons to perform such a technique unless it is for medical reasons such as phimosis" or "balanitis". And the supposed "benefits" do not justify such an intervention. If the pediatrician recommends you that it is for the "good of the child" becuase he Will have less likely to get infections or penis cancer penis thanks to "circumcision". It's a lie, basically because in Europe there are only 5% of circumcised men and the incidence of sexually transmitted diseases and penis cancer is much lower than in the States where it is done in most cases. In addition, the foreskin secretes lubrication that allows sexual relationships be pleasurable and not only , there are millions of nerves and blood vessels in foreskin. If It is cut, they'll loose sensebility in that zone when they get older.
      ADVICE: In the even that a nurse tells you that she is taking you child to the OR in order to be circumcised, if she does that without your inform consent, let her know that you are going to sue her for medical negligence because it is a FELONY. Many doctors and nurses are aware that this procedure (although they do not only do it with circumcision but also with many medical procedures) means a considerable amount of money for the hospital. A circumcision in your country costs around 2000 dollars.
      Your healthcare is a business.
      Be aware of that.

    I think you believe that and the authors of the study likely believe their conclusion. It shows how cultural perspective influences studies on cultural practices that are performed in a medical setting. It's easy to tell the frenulum is the most sensitive part just by touching it (or any remnant we have left). And while the glans is less sensitive, it looses a lot of sensitivity after loosing it's protective covering, as you mentioned.

    • @jackalneo
      @jackalneo 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      They specifically (for whatever reason: cultural bias, cult bias, intrinsic bias - whatever) narrow the methodology of these studies to avoid quantification. They specifically narrow what "sensation" means to a far more spurious qualitative experience opening (or allowing) windowing / limiting / massaging of data via participant selection, definitions of words, etc. The highest concentration of nerve endings on the penis exist on the foreskin. If you sever nerves they cannot communicate with your brain. This is inherently a loss of sensation. No need for muddying with qualitative interpretations. We can literally quantify it. But suddenly it's worth reducing the validity of a study and spuriously allowing inherent confounding variables via qualitative analysis. Make it make sense.

All the women in my extended family except the medically qualified ones where really bought into the idea and were strangely argumentative on the topic. Are you equally angry toward victims of cancer and/or drunk drivers and their families [and advocates against cancer & drunk driving], for examples, as you are toward victims of MIC and their families [and advocates against MIC generally]?
      ALL of the alleged "benefits" of MIC have been consistently refuted/debunked over the years. If there were truly any "health benefits" and the "risks of disease transmission/acquisition" were factually reduced, insurances and/or MedicAid would pay for the procedure if/when done as Adults rather than insurances and/or MedicAid considering circumcision to be purely "elective"/"cosmetic" once/after the lad reaches sexual maturity and adulthood.

    I'm surprised that this hasn't been called; "male genital mutilation".
    I imagine having a choice and anesthesia would be great, but usually this is done right after birth, and without pain meds. I dunno of any studies illustrating the possible physical, emotional and / or neurological impact this has throughout the lives of so many of us...
    ***Edited
    I'm learning that pparently there are quite a few studies that do show potential life-long, negative psychological / neurological consequences of "Male Genital Mutilation".
    I'm also learning that consequently, there are over 100 deaths annually, just in the US alone...
    Also, when healthy tissue has been removed in the absence of any immediate medical need it raises concerns regarding medical ethicality.
    Looks like I'm not the only one concerned about these things. 👍 It's real and I think more ppl, both men and women, should give weight to it's validity.

    I talked to a lot of circumcised men and asked their opinions if I should get circumcised. Some told me not to even think of it as they regret doing it whilst some told me it's a great idea and I should go for it.
    My problem was that those saying there is no difference in sensation and the whole of their sexual lives as compared to before being circumcised is that their faces were not convincing. They didn't sound as though they believed in what they were saying.
    I therefore changed my opinion on going for circumcision

    • @Joe_Laughs

      The issue you describe is "misery loves company" in pro-circumcision culture. Although relatively uncommon, there are men with pathologies that are well remedied by having their penis circumcised, & it is actually helpful & improves their dilemma.
      Most importantly, it is not possible for circumcision to improve a healthy penis. The idea that circumcision could improve an already healthy intact penis is completely false popular cultural & medical propaganda.
      Adult men who get their penis circumcised often claim they got it done for "medical reasons," although their penis was completely normal prior to circumcision. Real reasons they get it done is for aesthetic sexual preference (usually someone with homosexual tendencies), cultural assimilation or compliance (For example, some Mexican guys whose family & culture did not circumcise, who lives in the United States where lots of American males have circumcised penises, & some girls boast they prefer circumcised penis. These guys often claim they got circumcised for "medical reasons," but would never had "needed" to get circumcised if they lived in Mexico.), & a few because their sex partner preferred circumcised penis (mistake for any man to cut off any body part or get vasectomy for any partner, ever, but our feminized English speaking culture admires such male self-change & sacrifice).
      Anyway, many guys who get their penis circumcised for these reasons eventually come to regret that decision, some of them have regrets soon after. Rather than admit their mistake & discouraging & preventing other guys from making the same mistake, they instead promote their "circumcision decision," & encourage as many others to do the same. This describes one of many mechanisms that contribute to the continued perpetuation & propagation of American circumfettish cultural pathology.

    • @j.m.9727
      @j.m.9727 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Go against tradition. Foreskin isn't an evil or unhealthy body part. It's statistically very unlikely to cause problems. I know HIV and penile cancer pop up a lot in the circumcision of children debate but those things shouldn't even be a factor. HIV is preventable through safe sex - you should be using condoms regardless of whether you're circumcised - and penile cancer is almost always caused by HPV (something we have a vaccine for) and it's rarer than breast cancer in men. UTIs are rare in uncircumcised men and easily treatable with antibiotics if they do happen. In infancy, the foreskin is fused to the head of the penis so there's no need to clean under the skin. Pulling the skin back at that age will rip it.
      Give your children the right to enjoy their bodies as nature intended. All mammals have a foreskin. Even women have a foreskin - it's called the clitoral hood.

      @@dojoswitzer HIS BODY = HIS DECISION...
      The A.A.P. further says that those flawed "theories" or "alleged perks" do NOT significantly outweigh the risks (and, vehemently, that those “possible benefits” do not usually even exist until the lad reaches sexual maturity/adulthood after the age of 18). Boys should be allowed the same genital protections as our daughters.
      Guys circ'd as infants/adolescents begin experiencing E.D. around age 30-40 whereas Intact guys don't begin experiencing E.D. until around age 60-70. Sex therapists are recently adding that they are seeing more and more circ'd patients in their 20s, so it's GAME OVER for them by comparison to Intact guys!!
