Last time I visited my urologist they asked for a sample, then when I went into the little room with the nurse she scanned my bladder area of my stomach with a device and said "3ml of fluid so you're emptying fine". I was amazed that this device could tell there was exactly 3ml of fluid in there from the outside!

Another thing that can affect your bladder, your uterus if you have one, at least, that's what I experience. At the same time that I'm feeling menstrual cramps and getting frequent bowel movements, I get urinary urgency and incontinence. So yeah, not only do I have period blood coming out, but I get bladder leaks. I think it's cause those same prostaglandins that speed up intestinal peristalsis and strengthen uterine contractions from just a twinge to full on cramps also affect the bladder and cause it to contract more strongly too, so I get menstrual cycle related overactive bladder. And then add in the fact that I often drink more water on my period cause I'm taking pain meds and my bladder often gets full more quickly in the later hours and sometimes, I will end up leaking out a full bladder's worth of urine just like boom, one minute I have that "gotta go" urge, next minute, leaking out a full bladder's worth onto my menstrual pad.

I have found your work very informative, pertinent and useful to say the least. Been watching for six months regularly.
Would you please discuss "Interstitial Cystitis". Found cheap cure for my mother whom had suffered for over sixty years(twenty yrs. ago). Mom thought it was normal to pee a tablespoon often and no Dr. knew; besides IC is "predominently a young womens disease" I was told. Mom was in her late sixtys when I read an article and the cure tablet cost half$ per day. New life for her.
I am sure there are others that would benefit.

I have a nuerogenic bladder and had it augmented 20 years ago, the best thing ever. I ICP 5-6x daily with the plastic Lofric 16Fr, these are 100x better than red rubber caths. I see my VA urologist yearly and do a urodynamics test ever other year. I have to avoid Mult B vitamins, because it makes my feel like I have to pee. I take 2 cranberry pills daily to lessen UTIs to about 2x year. Last I orally take 2x daily Oxybutin an inter bladder inject 50cc water and Oxybutin 2x daily. I thought you might run into someone with a quadriplegic without a neurogenic bladder and my 20 years might help.

Hello Dr. Malik. I always enjoy your videos, they are informative and interesting. I've been watching you for several weeks now and I need to ask a question. I have had trouble with E D since I was in my 20's and it all started after a car accident. There was a very long recovery period and I never really fully recovered, physically, mentally or emotionally. I'm now 44 and fat. For the past 2 years there has been a considerable decline in erectile quality and frequency. Could it be low testosterone, poor blood flow, a combination of both, or something else entirely? Should I see a Urologist? Thanks for your time and hopefully you can help me find some answers.

Hey Doc, I was wondering if you could give some insight into priapism. I have zero control over it and it practically makes me a recluse since going out in public makes me at risk for being judged as being something I’m not just based on the “appearance” of a thing. Not to mention the pain involved with it for sometimes an hour at a time and also coupled with my other disabilities, it just sucks. My personal urologist says they have never seen this condition before but know of it from where they used to practice before moving here. They gave me a low dose gabapentin (100mg 3 times a day), but sometimes that doesn’t even work.
    Thanks for the great content.

Yes, bladder cancer is very serious. Just had my annual cystoscopy. Pleased to report clean and clear for another year. Bladder cancer has highest reoccurrence rate than any other cancer types. Met a good number of other bladder cancer folks. Another guy my age at a walk/run fundraiser who was in stage III; I was stage I. He was contemplating on removing his bladder which seemed crazy but considering alternative it didn’t seem so bad. We also shared stories of appointment experiences. Most people associate it as an elderly person’s issue, but it does hit young people too! My last cystoscopy was very cool. My urologist now has it setup where you can now watch live. Neat that I got to see inside of my bladder. Maybe bladder cancer can be a future video Dr Malik?

Doctor i have a situation. When I wakeup in the morning I find a completely full bladder, sometimes I fall asleep for an hour or more and by that time it's that much full that i can hardly get up and walk to the bathroom. Please suggest if it is a serious issue and how I can avoid it.

Hey Doctor please respond but I went to the doctor and got a blood and urine test. My urine ph is high at 8 and I’ve been having foamy urine for one month now but they detected no protein in my urine and said my kidneys were very good. I also had pressure or moderate discomfort in my bladder for 2 weeks that went away. What is causing this foam?

Dr. Malik, I need to talk to you. YOu are on the east coast & I am in CA but I have an idea that could help Urologists to earn more & actually cure ED. We can use my idea nationwide with other Urologists.

I don’t really have a bladder problem. I’m like a racehorse. So I pee a lot in colder environments. I’m a sweater, so I’m meant to sweat frequently so I don’t pee all the time. Plus i believe it’s an indication that I don’t want to be around others.
