HI, love the work, love the car, do you have a build summary? I have a 86 that I put a lot of work into but has been parked and undercovers for the last two years. I am ready to get back into it.
Awesome video guys , my dad bought me a 75 camaro back in 85 , we spent 7 months rebuilding the car from ground up , we put an 83 corvette motor in it and I took it to Camp Bowie and raced it every weekend , I won 34 races with it , cherish the time with your dad , my dad passed away August of 2022 from cancer , I wish I still had that car and my dad !!
I was at the end before I realized. Thanks to both of you for sharing the "trans"formation of this awesome car. Brought back many memories of my 78' Z28. Man I miss that car. It is so great that a father and son can share a passion, spend time together, and build one hell of a car. The Tom Waits was a nice little nod for the neighbors. Stay safe and keep it at the red line gentlemen.
I graduated high school on 1987, so seeing a whole new generation into Bill and Ted era cars is amazing to see. I love the passion you have for 80s cars.
Excellent job and vid. You’re lucky to have a father that takes an interest in your projects and supports them ... wish mine did back in my gear-head days. Keep up the great work.
Me too,i had a 67 chevelle, with a 355 with a comp cams magnum 270, my dad never even drove in it with me or nothin. My uncle broke in the engine and did the first hole shot, with a crappy gear from a power glide it still would do a burnout a block long and it was a turbo 350 trans, not a 4 speed,it was all engine,10.5 to 1 copression, and a 750 holley with a fuel regulator, but i would probably still have it if he took an interest
This right here is what it's all about! I remember when that first video came out when it was purchased. Awesome to see that Jordan never lost focus on the car and is still tearing up the streets!
Super cool to follow this vid. I was supposed to restore an 83 Pace Car with my dad when I was a kid, never ended up finding the time to dig into it and they ended up being scrapped. Now 10-15yrs later, and I just bought an 86 that I'm doing a full restoration on. Finding some time now to wrench on it with the old man - lots of great memories to be had.
So so cool...... My dad and I built me a 1970 Chevrolet Elcamino SS 396 when I turned 16... Just like you guys we really went all out and got it into the 10 second range on the quarter mile... It's really good to see that this still goes on....Congratulations ! You really turned it into a BEAST...
Love the car & video. Love the steps you took to get your car your way. Back in 1999 i bought an 85 Trans am & even brought my new born baby girl home from the hospital in it. About a year later, I needed a family car, so with much heartache, i traded my hot rod in for a family car. Skip 18 years later ( yesterday) I bought my car back. Thank you for the ideas, & now my kids are grown, I can have a hot rod project. One payday at a time
Such a great project. Watched every second of the video and subscribed. Can't wait to start a project car with my dad when I get home from deployment less than 4 months to go!
Fantastic Video. You know to be honest saw it was over an Hour, and thought, just start it and maybe zip through till the end to see the final product. But couldn't miss a second. Had to subscribe, can't wait for more. Really great job.
This video was awesome to watch, and it truly made me smile. Seeing a father-son project on one of my favorite cars was a real treat for me. God bless you both !
you sure have come a long way with your T/A since the initial purchase. I've been following your channel and the evolutionary process. Congratulations ! a very nice father and son project right there that should inspire lots of others. Also a very nice chronology clip right here of the entire process. I enjoyed it a lot !
Just found this video and I love it! This build is what it’s all about. The ups and downs is what hot rodding is all about. Really cool to see the evolution of the car and to see how much more power you were running by the end. Awesome!
About to drop 5k for nearly the same exact car from my neighbor, the interior is a mess and the exterior needs a whole new paint job but The engine works perfectly. I love the car and I can’t wait to see the finished product, you guys gave me a lot of inspiration thanks !
I did the same with my dad, mine was an 86. We couldn't do all the back road stuff you guys do because the cops here kinda don't like it. But a hell of a journey! I look forward to how it proceeds.
Yeah, I did watch the whole video, and the Trans Am has came a long way. The 80's was a bad decade for US cars, but a few good ones were built. Of course that last run sure was a lot faster than the old 305. Enjoyed the memories, and hope you both have a Merry Christmas !!
love what you did here! my dad and i are gonna do a trans am, but we're focusing more on the aesthetic of the car and keeping the old skool alive. historical preservation and all that. got a sweet lineup of parts, and a car getting some preliminary welding done (that's new england for ya) starting this autumn, a week or two from now.
I have a 86 red WS6 Trans Am tpi my next project car. The car came with a lot of options back in the day. An isolation relay fixed my pop up head light problems. The motors actually work with the new relay. 86 TA total mulletville can't wait to get into the project.
I enjoyed the video. I was cool to see the car evolve, and the bonding experience that you and your dad had is immeasurable. I never was a fan of the third gens, as I have a 2nd and 4th gen.... but you have a very cool car and I hope you're still enjoying it.
Thank you for watching, we appreciate it. I do still have the car and I'm in the process of building another small block for it. It was sidelined for a bit while I built my GTO, but I'm getting back to it now.
If you have a car you love never let a sibling use it, I had an 85' loved it, had plans and parts waiting, let my brother use it, in 6 months it was in the junk yard.
I loved these Trans Ams , and Years ago I had a 3rd gen..Z28 H.O. loved it , bullit proof engine and trans. sold to my brother had 195,000 miles. My dad, 86 years old......yeah, and worried about the car... just bought a 2017 LT1 V6 camaro . Outstanding car ! Amazing performance ! I could never go back and drive an older one ...of any year model.
Very very nice fellas. Jordan if you can't stop putting effort and money in it... Just tell Dad your doing it for him. He seems like the fella who would truly understand. There from day 1. Wish I had a dad for so many reasons. Guys you make an awesome team. Enjoy.
Love the car. I got a 82 bird for me and my son. 357. It’s going to take a wile to finish. Probably will not go all out on the motor like you all did. Manly because I don’t have the money to. Thanks for all the vids and putting all in one.
My first car was a rusted out '82 Firebire se with a v6. It was uglier than the back side of a dead donkey but I loved it. It wasn't long until I had the opportunity to upgrade to an '89 TransAm. It wasn't the fastest car but she was pretty, metallic blue with the silver airdamn along the bottom. Pretty much same car as in this video and I'm watching it realizing just how bad I miss that car now. More than ever. Great video. Thanks for sharing.
This is pretty slick dude! I had an 83' but changed the front over to this style after a little crash in the front. There's 2 vids of it from a 1996 VHS in my Cars playlist, one with a 69 Charger RT/SE at the races and another doing burnouts with a 70 Challenger
Ahh i know your gonna think im crazy but i miss IL, im born and raised in Canton , moved to FL in 04 and miss the hell out of the seasons, this car is badass, i watched the entire video, you guys are awsome.
I recently put down an offer for a 86 trans am t tops, auto trans, with a 383 stroker, edelbrock carb and intake, hooked headers and, magnaflow exhaust. Just waiting for the safety to pass (illegal tints going) and getting it insured. This is getting me more excited than I already am.
great job dad i hope jordan understands that he is a very fortunate sonto have a dad who does these kinds of things with him there isnt going to be much jordan doesnt know how to do on cars i really enjoy you guys videos its nice to know that there is still some guys out there showing thier kids how to be men
I'm a new subscriber. I have an 85 Fire Chicken T-Top and I bought last year and ain't nothing like the ole Pontiac. A rare lost division of GM's history. I think if GM brought back Pontiac in a refreshing muscle style to compete in the 2 door market it outdo the Camaro in sales. GM has the Corvette at least let (Pontiac), Chevy, Oldsmobile and Buick all shine like the glory days.
Awesome awesome awesome, I’m gelli, wish my dad was so cool, you guys are blessed keep up the awesome work and more videos, you picked a awesome car Jordan, trans am forever, big thumbs up guys. Car sounds awesome, nothing like American muscle.
You and your dad did a wonderful job on the TA. Glad to see your staying with your TA. Awesome car! Would like to see you put some DRs on it and see what she would do at the track. She sounds really healthy I know she would run strong at the track. 👍🇺🇸
Thank you for taking a look. We have some more recent videos on our channel, if you want to check them out. It has 275/60 drag radials on it now and we've run it down the eighth mile a few times. There is a playlist of all the Trans Am videos on our channel.
I’m just seeing this vid now but just wanted to say that is one of the most best restorations and upgraded car I’ve ever seen good job to you guys and hope you do even more. Wondering if you guys have put it on a dunk yet
Thanks for watching, we appreciate it! Jordan is currently building a '68 Pontiac GTO as well. We had the Trans Am out for little bit today too. Here's a quick video of a couple of burnouts: th-cam.com/video/k6CJUAOMp6o/w-d-xo.html
Wow great transformation guys nice work .brings back alto of memories with my dad n brother in my younger days lol keep up the great job and stay safe .
kids grown up .. goos job guys .. cant believe you dont have these front lights motors there in usa ... i did fix mine in kuwait i install new interuor parts inside the motors and they works perfect so far .. or you guys can use the corvette motors if could be .... good luck
Really enjoyed your vid. I thought it would be shit and soon as I saw the car I had low expectations but you guy turned that firebird into one pretty hot car. I just got home today from a big cruise in my noisy V8 Holden and had a big headache from the noise and could not wait to put it away but after watching you guys I wanna get my car out tomorrow
Thanks for watching, we appreciate it! Here's a more recent clip of the Trans am at the dragstrip, if you haven't seen it: th-cam.com/video/-ZosJ3r84to/w-d-xo.html
I actually just discovered your channel then saw how long ago it was stared... So this vidio was pretty bad ass. I just got a 91 z28, this gives me hope on my build lol. Also... Never.. Never! Sell that car! #1 I sold my my first one (88 camaro bought when 18). Regret! I'm 40 now and bought the 91 as a mid life crisis I guess. And I always wished I had my 88 back. #2 father and son build. That's just awesome. You can keep that in the family, and have all these videos for your family to see. Or get buried in it? Whatever you want.
The heads are 200cc intake runner 64cc combustion chamber Skip white heads. They are very inexpensive, but they work great. You can find them on ebay #272's I think. The cam in this video was a Howards Racing hydraulic flat tappet with a 108 LSA...around 231/236@.050. I think the lift was only around .488/.496 or so. I've gone to a different cam since then, that is a bit bigger.
@@RamblinAround thank you for the information im a bird lover and builder i used to own 14 now im down to 3 and not going to be selling them ,i really enjoyed your video it s the best ive seen thank you for sharing !
This turned out absolutely stunning. The sound is music to my ears. I have an 87 TA in dark blue and she's the Christine to my Arnie Cunningham. Only thing I have to fix is that friggin hatch motor. Why they chose plastic housing for something that some people accidentally slam shut is beyond me.
My favorite trans am is from 84/89. Also there’s a guy around my block who has an 89 trans am but it’s been sitting there for a long time. I hope in a few years when I’m 16 17 years olds I’m thinking about buying it
Nice compilation from begining to finish, ( well they are never finished are they)!! That is a beautiful bird Jordan! Thanks for sharing your guys hard work and long nights!! Now show them how its done with a real car! Be safe, merry Christmas my friends!
My twin had three 2nd gen's! One had a stroker 406,(79 z-28 was a show car & one hell of a runner!) also, a 78 trans am 455HD W/ new top end, cam, heads, headers, custom 2 toned paint scheme, system, power everything! also a 77 firebird q/301.
Here is the car at the track more recently. Thanks for watching everybody, we appreciate it: th-cam.com/video/-ZosJ3r84to/w-d-xo.html

What kind of shifter is that and how do I install that on my automatic Trans Am?

Thanks Justin, we appreciate that!
Incredible video. Love the car. You guys do magnificent work.
Thank you very much, we appreciate you watching!
84 z B&M shift kit true posy rear was my first car. Black with the gray valance t tops. Bought it 80 percent on my own at 16. Miss my car.
Great project and great time for you and your son.
Thank you, we really have had a lot of fun with it. Thanks for watching!
Wish I had a dad like u
The 87 Trans-AM looks good brother and that 355 Small Block Chevy V8 sounds nasty as hell.
This is an awesome video. I hope to one day do this with my son. Thank you for sharing.
kids grown up .. goos job guys .. cant believe you dont have these front lights motors there in usa ... i did fix mine in kuwait i install new interuor parts inside the motors and they works perfect so far .. or you guys can use the corvette motors if could be ....
Whatever you want.
right on ! thank you for sharing and can you share the cam and what heads i would appreciate it
The heads are 200cc intake runner 64cc combustion chamber Skip white heads.
You've got a sweet ride man. Great job on the build; you captured the quintessential American muscle dream!
My favorite trans am is from 84/89.
Also there’s a guy around my block who has an 89 trans am but it’s been sitting there for a long time. I hope in a few years when I’m 16 17 years olds I’m thinking about buying it
B&M Mega shifter! I had that exact shifter in my 79 Z28 Cool car!
Nice compilation from begining to finish, ( well they are never finished are they)!! That is a beautiful bird Jordan! Thanks for sharing your guys hard work and long nights!! Now show them how its done with a real car! Be safe, merry Christmas my friends!
Thank you James, we appreciate that. Hope you have a Merry Christmas too!
