- I used to think studying was so boring. How could I make studying and learning fun? How could I make it more enjoyable? However, after studying for over 10+ years to become a doctor, I realized that I was approaching my studies completely wrong. And that studying is actually very fun if we know how. In this video I'll be sharing 3 lessons that allowed me to trick my brain into loving studying and how to not feel bored.

0:19 learning sweet spot for challenge (too challenging vs. not challenging enough)
2:45 studying information that feels useless or unimportant
4:34 viewing studying like a chore
conclusion:
1. learning the sweet spot for a challenge is important, challenging yourself but not too much, but you have to do it with the mindset of how you can challenge yourself in a way that makes you think about what you're learning.
2. we enjoy subjects that we can relate to ourselves or real world situations, so find a way to make the boring or "unimportant" subjects relate to real life situations to make it interesting.
3. seeing studying as a chore is because of perceived control, change your mindset from NEEDING to study to WANTING to study.
Thanks 😊
Thank you
I appreciate this well written summary. Amazing job. 👏🏻
1. Challenging yourself
2. Relating it
3. Wanting to study
So if i am studying newtons laws of motion. Then I am gonna challenge myself by thinking about the differences and similarities in all the three. It makes it engaging.
Then I need to relate these laws to the real world or in my mind if not possible in a real world situation.
Ofcourse I would want to study this as these are the basics to know before I could go ahead with study. Without knowing it i cant move forward.
When I was in college I associated studying with the vision of the end goal. Being able to focus on that got me through so many "boring" classes.
idk if you could help me on this, but here is my issue. I do indeed try to focus myself on the end goal, but somehow I think that success is going to be guaranteed when I know very well it isn’t, how could I change my view?
@@LeoLyu-vs4cw how do you know success isn’t guaranteed? If you’re doing the work. Have a plan. The right mindset. You’re on the path to success.
@@iamnyoka well I mean I feel like I’m on the right path (except for a few excursions), but I feel like I’m not doing enough cuz I have a ton of time Im not using
I never thought about it like this thank you imma try this for my last semester . 😊
And then there’s organic chemistry
For me, I regard knowledge as a magic, which is abtract thing but it’s powerful to make anything objectively. for example, Your house isn’t built randomly to be your house but it’s built by someone who knows about Engineering or architecture. So i think knowledge is powerful and i wanna improve my tools (study methods) to grab all of magic inspirationally.
Oooh knowledge as magic... Never thought of it in that way, but come to think of it, it actually makes sense :0
sweet spot of challenge
how can you challenge yourself to think about what you are learning more? (eg linking different flashcards together, using analogies)
make it relevant to the real world
instead of seeing it as chore, view it as a lens of gratitude (that you want to study and enjoy it!)
Been watching yall for a WHILE now, but this might be the best video yet in terms of brevity, analogies, visuals, examples, and # of topics yall hit! Yall have a talent for breaking things down, keep it up bros!

The one piece refference 😮
I was watching other videos for my exam prep and I came across your video
And I changed my way of studying and I was happy to hit that sweet spot 🤩❤
Thank you for helping me out with my studies for my exam 😊😌
Glad to see my boy Ali here, his channel and this one are the best
The vid was amazing! 🔥
But honestly studying is fun if we are allowed to study what we like, but obviously, schools do not let us! for example: I can study maths or mechanics (physics) for hours and hours on end but at end they wouldnt be that useful to me since they would ask questions in the competitive exam or school exams from a fixed set of topics!
Wow I really needed this video today. I didn’t realize I am seeing studying as a chore every day
Ah yes, finding the relevancy of finding the volume of a area that has been rotated around by 2 pi by the y axis to form a cone in which the radius requires you to ratio it to something that doesn’t exist in which you have to find yourself that also changes every second.
Note that I am joking
Not really how it works, but alright :/
@@terminallucidity Care to share? Love to hear it :)
I use math like that all the time to code 3D graphics. Just because you can’t find relevancy doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.
If it doesn't relate to real life, just see it as a challenge because the main point of these equations and word problems are to sharpen your mind
Reasoning is also a part of maths and these kinda things come under it
Your thumbnails are so incredible! How do you edit your thumbnail ?

I’ve been watching your videos since so long and trying to motivate myself to do better everyday and not procrastinate or follow a study technique that suits me. I have seen a little changes in me but not what I expected
but unfortunately I’m back to square one the next day and I basically make no output and just end up scrolling and bored
my question is a little lame but how can I improve myself on this?

I enjoy learning c++ and im still a shs ict/css student and my IT college friend gave up because of JavaScript complexity (c++ is literally much harder and more complex to learn than JavaScript😢)
My friend had a rest for 4 years and came back for a BSEd and he regretted pursuing BSIT☹️

Video crux - change your prespective on learning from boring and making no sense to intresting, fun, joy, solving your and other peoples problems, apply what you have learn creatively in the real world.

Um i literally got distracted because of that one piece clip 1:57
I've always been that one student in class that didn't even need to study because I knew what I needed, I somehow understood the subjects.; but as much as a lot of people saw it as a good thing, a time came where I had very bad teachers with whom I learned nothing at all, so I needed to study by myself now... but how?
So it's been like, a year and a half, maybe, now that I started to find my way out on studying and I think I'm finally getting it! People sometimes watch videos, search, or stuff like that and find techniques and stuff that are said to be perfect, but it doesn't work for them (and I say from experience), but what we forget is that studying is for ourselves. It's whatever makes us understand/remember a subject. So if you study by, idk, getting upside down and reading all the subject out loud, that's great! If you need to sit and physically write down every single word of a textbook while you blast metal rock in your headphones, that's also great! I myself found out that I don't quite learn as people say most of them do, by listening or writing, or stuff like that, but rather by understanding the subject and making something fun out of if, being that a dramatic fanfic-like narrative of a historic deed or doing character designs out of the periodic table groups (seriously, I didn't know remembering the periodic table could be fun, 10/10 would recommend), now the only thing I still struggle with is sitting down and actually START studying, but I guess that's something I still gotta figure out
But my point is: You, my dear friend who watched this great video and is now procrastinating by reading the comments, just have to MAKE IT FUN! Make it interesting for you and you'll understand what you need of a subject as much as you understand the logic of the world of that one series you watch. Now let's we both stop procrastinating and get back into studying! ^^
"People sometimes watch videos, search, or stuff like that and find techniques and stuff that are said to be perfect, but it doesn't work for them (and I say from experience), but what we forget is that studying is for ourselves" This! Amazing lesson there. Everyone here can only guide you, so it's up to you (the student) to take what resonated in the videos and create your own system!
And if nothing clicked then just keep doing whatever works best! (P.S: Can you share a fanfic that you made for the periodic table)
@@CajunKoiAcademy Oh, glad I'm not the only one who thinks like that! Videos are great to guide, but aren't the only way possible and that's okay ^^ Also, I haven't watched you guys' videos yet, but this one is surely one of those great guides!
And for for sure I can share! haha Actually, I always had a difficulty in memorizing things, so in an attempt to makes things fun, I took advantage of the fact that I'm an artist and started making character designs of each group of the periodic table (maybe someday I'll share it in youtube, even... who knows); I've done the transition metals and the noble gases so far and it's helping me a lot! I made usage of puns and the actual elements for the designs too, like the noble gases one is a guy with a royalty-like clothes and hair floating (because... gases) with strands of neon colors (because of the element neon)... And, of course, as someone who loves to writes stories, can't say I haven't been thinking in a story with them being like two families, the metals and non-metals, and stuff, but maybe that's a little too much haha
In any case, It's been definitely helping me, so I'm definitely doing more of that with future subjects ^^
❤❤❤
