    Lovely video! Only side note: the music was insanely loud at the beginning even with my volumes set to medium-low. x

    Something went wrong, if we use fresh flowers 🌼

    Thank you for this. Really liked the idea of putting the flower pieces directly into the slurry; much better results. I've tried it the other way, and wasn't overly happy with the appearance.

    This is what I’ve been looking for! I have been wanting to use the petals on flowers my s/o gives me and this is great! Going to get all the supplies and give it a go!

    Good tutorial. I started making paper with shredded paper. It’s a lot of fun. I like where you explained about the dried flowers and also varnishing the wood on the deckle. Varnishing will definitely make the deckle last longer.

    Hello! Can someone explain to me why the paper blender can’t be used for food despite washing? I only have one blender at home and would like to try this method. Thank you!

      You can but it blunts the blades a bit and are a little hard to clean afterwards.
      I use an old immersion blender which I think works a lot better. A normal blender if the paper isn't broken down enough can overheat and burnout the blender so don't use fancy expensive ones. You can get immersion blenders really cheap or you don't even have to use a blender at all. Just grab 2 handfuls of paper, squeeze out the water and rub them together.

    is there other ways to make the paper into a pulp? i dont have enough money for all the tools like the blender

      you can use a mortar and pestle to pound the paper into pulp, but i mash mine with my hands and then soak the pulp for another day

    I want to use these as scrolls for my dnd campaign, would the paper be able to roll up? When I had a failed attempt at making paper it just crumbled :(

    Can you just dump some of the pulp from the measuring straight onto the deckle & flatting it out instead of diluting the pulp & dipping the deckle?

      Yes and you can run a soft flow of tap water over the top to spread it out. Then you can press it down with a tea towel.

    Such a helpful video, thank you!!! Is there a special way you let the paper dry to keep it flat??

    • @michelleyuenn
      @michelleyuenn  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope, it usually dries flat by itself. If you’re having issues with it curling, I’ve heard that letting it dry on a more porous surface might help (like a wood board)

      You may be able to place some parchment/wax paper over the top and add some type of weight to it to keep it flat but make sure it can still dry
