I just want to stop you at 2:00 minutes and say. You ARE a professional paper artist. You can be a professional and still learning more, so please appreciate your creativity, dedication to improving, and the beautiful handmade results you made! 😘
To color my papers, I use construction paper (I have a whole bunch of leftovers from my kids when they were going to school), and it only takes a few pieces to color a whole blender of pulp.
Thinking about it, dyes are just watered down pigment powder. It makes sense it would take soooo much more dye than using a colored (pre dyed & dried) piece of paper to tint the new pulp!
Your videos are so amazing. You are so generous to share your talent and knowledge with us. I can't wait to get started with paper making. Thank you. Keep up the great job!
This is the first time I found your site in any of your videos omg I have a garden and I have a hard time getting rid of my dried flower petals and I keep them in dark places so they all have their color mostly and now I have something to do with them I'm thrilled can't wait to watch more videos Thank you for making it sound doable . I will let you know where my new inspiration takes me. 💚
WOnderful video thanks so much. I've tried a little test with platic canvas as the netting layer and then adding a layer of the thin fabric used to cover garden plants to protect them from frost. Im getting the hang of putting them out on another surface to dry and its going great. Thanks for your inspiring videos. The ones I made directly onto the plastic canvas, I pressed onto tshirt that was on top of a towel to minise the water. Then peeled off the tshirt so it stayed on the platic mesh. the arir flow was great and the paper dried 'flat to itself' and has the grid texture of the platic canvas. Interesting for mixed media. I needed MORE pulp than I had but its fun to play and experiment.
I learned Day Trading during the 2021 pandemic! So I admire you and appreciate these videos!!! I'm an artist and I want to revisit this part of my journey that I began ....may-beeee 15 years ago???? Thank you for posting your journey, oh and, less hands - - I enjoy just relaxing and seeing your materials. I know you're up there...hahaha...don't need to see a constant dance of your hands. Big hug, cat
Some of the 'air bubbles' are probably caused by accidentally dripping some water drops on the wet sheet of paper on the mold, frequently when you remove the wet deckle. Sometimes called papermaker's tears. :)
Watching you manipulating the fabric you're using makes me think about this winter "veil" used in gardening to protect your plants from frost. Would that work? I haven't tried (yet) because I only have one blender and I don't want to use it for craft and food, I also don't have a deckle (I'll def. checl out your videos on how to make paper without these!)
hi, I love your videos! I want my paper to come out white. I know darker color paper that i turn into pulp, all my paper is coming out dark grey. What can i do to dye my paper white? thank you
i dont know if you can add anything to make it white. i usually use off cuts with no prints/ink, plain bank paper. i reckon it is the ink on the paper you’re recycling that’s making it gray.
You absolutely can use fresh materials and it will not rot as long as it's dried fully by the end of the process (as all paper is). Paper can be made entirely of organic materials such as leaves, grass, and corn husks and they do NOT rot or mold.
I've never tried cotton pulp yet, but I've watched most professional paper makers use it! I think it helps a lot if I you want to make consistent sheets! Would love the chance to try it if I had access to it!🧡

A good cheap and durable option for couching cloths are J cloths. They are readily available in the UK but not sure elsewhere though. C xx

Thanks for this very informative video. I made hand made paper many years ago and your videos are making me want to give it a try again.
This was excellent! Thank you for all the answers.
Very Pretty 🥰
Thank you for sharing!

I think after the paper has dried, you can apply Gesso to the paper. It will prevent any bleeding
Great and informative video❣️ I love using colored paper for creating pulp. Thanks for sharing your talents and time. 😍👍

Sharmane, where do you get your dried hydrangeas? 😊
Hello. I watch your paper making videos. I will be making paper from a4 size paper, old printer paper and old copys. Should I use sizing
Is there a way to make watercolour paper?
Thank you,question- did you try adding any sizing? 🌞

Nice explanation 💝😍😇
Have you ever added lint from the dryer to the pulp?
Dryer lint has a lot of hair... So I wouldn't.

hi, thanks for this info. where did you buy the cmc sizing?
Is it possible that the fabric is muslin often used as a backing for quilts
I'm not familiar with backing for quilts, but if you have one lying around, maybe you can do a test!
Fantastic. Thank you
How do you stop the paper from cracking or breaking when it is folded in half?
Hello, where can we order dried hydrangers? Is there a certain type?
thank you for the tips.
Do the flowers HAVE to be dried? Can they be freshly picked? Thank you.

I think the cloth you held up at 6:18 may be pilon. I may be wrong, but it looks like pilon to me :-)

It looks like sewing interfacing. Might be called different name in other countries.
@@barbaracabrera207 In the US it's often called pellon for the main company that makes it. Yes, it's interfacing
@elizabethhodgson8903 Pellon. OK thank you!!!

#sosheturnsone Have been making handmade papers for a while now but haven't tried using sizing yet. Thanks for these!
hello madame. Have you tried making a paper straw out of citrus made paper? Do you think it's possible? hope you make a video like that soon.
No I haven't tried yet!
Am I really the only one watching this premiere? lol I guess that’s one good thing about being up feeding twins. 😬
