Another awesome video! I made my own paper years ago and seems like I added a teaspoon of cornstarch in the blender. I also poured some of the pulp into a star cookie cutter. They made nice ornaments for the Christmas tree - or for packages. Thanks for sharing!

Actually the segment in art class was my favorite my art teacher Mrs Cunningham she said we could use anything I had horses at the time and you can imagine what I used and yes I got a A+ and no it did not smell but talk about amazing paper I have always loved paper making because of that class!

@@OurUpcycledLife my teacher let us use a little bit of real paper and cut up pieces of cloth not a lot and then I probably used in a blender a big blender which I know you don't have two cups of dried road apples and I filled the top of the blender with water and blitzed we made mesh screens like a silkscreen you can get those at hobby lobby and poured it out squished it out like you showed and let it dry overnight it was very pretty if I had access to horses like I did then I would be making more!

I used to make this when my oldest was younger. We used to add coloured threads and the foil from butter into our paper. I used to use my old splatter screen too! Sometimes I would take the bottom off a coffee tin, place it on my screen and pour the slurry through the tin to make the paper I into a circle then add dried flowers after sponging while it was still wet. They were so pretty embedded into the paper. I also put flower seeds in to the paper and added to cards with instructions on how to plant the “seed” paper to grow flowers! So much fun! I think it’s time to do it again, I love the idea of using it for tags! Love your channel I’m a very faithful subscriber and watch all your videos so much inspiration! Thanks Deidre.

After turning the screen over onto the old tshirt, use the sponge to draw out more moisture. That way the paper will adhere to the cloth and you don’t have to use your hands to remove it and tear it when it’s fragile.

Most people don't like the smell of the black liquor, but the paper has to be that way if you want it to be absolutely perfect. With the right binding agents you maybe can even make it like printer paper which is next level.

All that work for a tiny bit of paper? A pack of A4 costs about 5$ and thats about 300-500 beautiful, big, clean sheets.
