I had heat issues with mine coz of the Micro-SD Card. It seems fi finicky with the Micro-SD Card selections so I got one that is mentioned as compatible in their website and never had the problem ever since
I've had the camera for over two months and I use it a lot. At normal room temperature, it does not overheat even after a long video in 4K. 😉 I am taking it to Africa next month, of course it is necessary, like any electronics, to comply with its specification temperature parameters. Last year, in a southern country, everything overheated. Cameras, phone and a drone that I could only fly with at dawn or sunset.
@@pavliqpavliq jasné, jak se dařilo pocketu co se týče teploty? Jak se mu daří obecně v teple? Rád bych pořídil na svatby jako statickou kameru na obřad + dji mic, ale trochu se o to obávám :)

All 4 of them the cellular data has to be turned off to see videos on my iPhone 14pro max. Yes I decided to give this camera a 4th chance. Two of them had extremely loose gimbal in which you can hear the gimbal making audible noises in the videos. One of them had a software issue the said gimbal protection. DJI customer service didn’t seem to have an answer that was consistent between customer service reps so I returned that unit. I can officially say after 4 of them I won’t ever be buying one.
The hottest spot is not the mechanism of the display. Does it really overheat and melt something at a max of 60°C?? Maybe butter melts. It was dropped! And thats why I have DJI care refresh for two years. Even the displaymechanism fails, i'll get another OP3 for a little bucks.
Yes, I did return it. I also contacted the DJI support. They are very nice. BUT. They admitted the overheating is normal (BTW: It is also mentioned in the user guide, although just very briefly). This is the sentence from their email to me: """ Please turn on the "Scrn Off when Rec" function and then do not connect with DJI Mimo APP and then test in a windless environment at room temperature (around 25 °C), and if you still cannot record over 20 minutes. """ Rephrasing that sentence a bit: "We know that the device overheats, but normally, under the moderate conditions, it should be able to record for at least 20 minutes." But what about the summer? And the direct sunlight? And the temperatures over 35°C? Plus the 20 minutes limit is only true for the very first time, then you need to let it cool down (to me at least 30 minutes)... I decided to NOT get the replacement, at least until they release Pocket 3.1, or something like that. As I bet P3 will be useless under the tough conditions...
Yeah.. This is a deal breaker for me... I hv the pocket 2 and i can film with it for hours and it never shuts down even if it gets really hot. Im from Malaysia and the temperature can get up to 35degs. Thanks for sharing the email. Seems dji knew about this problem but they still release pocket 3 with this known defect.
@@JiriKrivanekI don't think they will ever correct it as its in my understanding a processor problem. Mine did the exact same thing. It worked normally for about 1 day. It sure was a surprise when it happened. DJI sent me a UPS label and I returned it for a full refund.
I returned it since it had been only 4 days since it arrived. DJI sent me a UPS label. I received a check from DJI for the full amount after they inspected it presumably to see that I had returned everything and there was no physical damage.
It is considered as overheating because it is sold in EU so it MUST be made to work in EU or it violates Consumer Protection Law of EU. You cant sell products to the regions If it is not working as told and sold.
I ran mine for over 2 hours on 4k 25 frames and in the end I stopped it , never overheated once , it got warm but never turned off due to over heating

mine overheat, doesn't even last 5mins recording
I was thinking of buying one. My place's temperate average is 30-32C. What's your place temperature? Are you filming at 4K 60fps?
There are more and more of such videos. I've seen at least 3 other like that.
I wonder how fast I will send mine back (it's still in delivery) ???
did you had any issues with it?
@@mentalsplitmusic No, zero.
I actually take out P3 10+ times from that cover and it's still fine.
But I'm always very careful with this process.
That sucks bigtime. Do you get a free replacement? Hope you have DJI Refresh on a expensive camera like Pocket 3.

It's not overheating, it's exceeding the EU surface temperature limit of 48 degrees celsius. In the US it's not a problem.

Omg its a single fate. I have used a hack to let it run 160mins with 57 degrees. Everything works well.
