This demonstrates the critical thing when dialing any chugging metal tone. Remove bass before the gain, and then bring it back in post gain. That's what makes it chug. Some metal amps like this one have a depth setting, which is the same as a presence control, but for bass. These controls exist in the power section and add resonance. Completely different from an EQ control. Thats likely why the Mark series amps were so popular in old school metal, because they had pre gain EQ controls, and then a post gain graphic EQ. This allowed the bass to be put to zero, mids to taste and highs maxed out, and then a smiley face on the graphic EQ after the distortion from the preamp. Combine that with active pickups that had more output, and you had a metal tone, with no boost pedal. Such controls were revolutionary. Nowadays we know we can just put s suitable boost in front of any amp with a decent amount of gain, and throw an EQ in the effects loop, and we can make it chug, but back then this was cutting edge. Chugging wasn't really well understood.

I think I see where I’m not getting what I should out of mine. It’s the input and output knobs. I usually turn the input a little bit past 12 o’clock and the output at 12 o’clock. Gonna try it now and see if that’s it. Thanks for the video. I definitely think tone hunting would go over well on this channel. I can’t buy high end physical amps so I live with amp sims and the tips definitely help! Thanks man.
It’s all about experimentation and seeing what works. These types are videos are my worst performing videos. Reviewing the latest equipment that’s got some hype can work but it’s all hit and miss with TH-cam.

It’s dropping off, I’m thinking next year sometime maybe January or February. That TH-cam algorithm isn’t always friendly to the channel. I just take it day by day and I’m thankful where the channel is at and what Ive already achieved
First video I’ve seen where you’re stacking boosts. Especially in a plugin format is cool to see. My new favourite tone is stacking an sd1- ts9- mt2w. For more of a tight articulate fast riffing or lead tone

@Tman-bf9he there’s other factors that can affect your tone and how well the MT-2 works. From the power amp , speakers, pickups, tuning. Then capturing for a TH-cam video your changing the tone with the microphones used, maybe I could talk about that?
Dude has a hell of a set up and tones😮😅. I've been an amp and pedal Dude my whole guitar life😂. I don't really need the half stack in the living room anymore 😕 😊. Neighbors tend to bitch more nowadays too. Im wanting to learn how to use my laptop and get the setup

did you notice with the Hexdrive off and the slightly muddier sound it somewhat resembled a Rat pedal a la Trey?
I didn't notice that , I always have a habit of using to much gain and boost and not realizing those older tones weren't pushed as hard .
Without the boost and low cut going in, the amp started to sound like something that would work for doom metal.

Definitely can effect the tone to some extent. Lots of factors contribute to tone
