I've got a pair of old Dynaudio BM5s that still sound as sweet in my studio as when I got them. Also using a pair of JBL 104s with a Presonus Eris 8" sub in my video editing suite. Would love to hear these!
I love the British Approach to setting up Monitors.....Superb.
Kali's, I use a dynaudio sub
@@TrevorNokesMusichaha thanks!! You would know of course!
@@3ATTR1XMarvellous!!
We're loveing this new trio - keep it up Gents!
Thanks ever so much!
It is wonderful to have two great channels come together like this.
Thanks ever so much!
I am just LOVING the PDP collaborations!
Thanks so much!

@@PresentDayProduction You Rock!
Thanks for the demo gents! Really appreciate it! Even though these are cheaper monitors you're demoing, from the sounds of the criticism I can understand how they're really great monitors for their size. I'm currently using 'small' Neumanns here (KH120A with KH750 DSP with MA1 alignment) and was disappointed at the physical size when they arrived, but was then pleasantly surprised by the performance after calibrating them. It honestly sounds like there's a wall of sound reaching my monitoring position rather than sound coming from three small individual speakers (6.5" drivers and 'relatively' small 10" sub). It almost sounds like there aren't any speakers in the soundfield, and the phantom centre is pretty tight. Probably not ultra-expensive speaker tight, but still damn good for the cost!
These demos of monitors, from professionals like yourselves, are very much appreciated. Thanks so much Warren, James, Mark. Really appreciate it.
Is mark going to stand behind each monitor when testing/listening? He’s filling in nicely as room treatment during calibration 😂
I had the Mk1's. Loved them. They are now sitting in the Far East in my brothers military dorm. He absolutely loves them. I'm considering picking up the Mk 2's.
produce like a trio.....looking forward to more content from you 3. The music removal tech from Blackmagic is amazing......
Cheers! Yes, that tech really is astounding. Never fails to amaze me and is always my go-to!
Thanks ever so much!
@@PresentDayProduction you Rock! Yes, very impressive tech
I love my current mtm’s, they are so good for the price, size. great for me playing guitar with neural dsp / amplitude 5 and Spotify when doing normal work.
Do you think we can play a 7 string guitar in drop A with neural dsp and MTM mkii?
lovely to see the gents on the channel again!
Thanks so much!
Stay to the end! Mark and James of @presentdayproductions have a surprise ending
Haha what a perfectly suitable ending! 👏
Brilliant. loving this collaboration, Warren 👏
@@Beatledave7haha thanks ever so much
@@The_Vile_Vorticesthanks! It was a lot of fun
MTM's products have always been amazing
I have the Mk1 and really like them. I do with the volume knobs were at least detented, or in discrete steps. As they are right now, there's no mechanical way to guarantee you're getting matched output from both speakers. I just try to set both volume knobs at 12 o'Clock and hope for the best. It's not a deal breaker, but seems stepped volume, or at least some calibrated markers would be helpful. Was hoping the Mk2 did this, but oh well. Thanks for the great video!
I would think that it is likely not advisable to remain standing behind the speaker after pressing the calibration button, since it will almost certainly impact the bass region of the test tone sweep measurement. I would instead move to the listening position, which is where a body would be situated during monitoring, for more accurate measurements. Also, the monitor was literally wobbling side to side when you let go of it at 12:28, due to either the floor not being level or the 4 pins underneath the stand not having been adjusted properly, which would likely affect the reading. I would recommend having one engineer alone, calibrating in the control room (I realize that it was a team unboxing demo). Just saying...
Great job with the review guys. Thanks very much and a big thanks to the PLAP team
Great review! Thanks, guys. I already was well impressed by the first iteration of them. Can’t wait to hear these. Cheers!
Love how PDP try to refrain from saying ‘our’ monitors and using ‘high end’ monitors instead 🙈😂👍🏻
Cracking wee speakers, I bought the originals years ago as a stop gap till I could decide on what I wanted (purely music listening), I kept them for 2 years and my brother still uses them
leaving a comment for the giveaway love the PDP lads and their MUM monitors 😎
"wha...instructions?! we dunna need no bloody instructions we are audio professionals we can just start pluggin stuff in and go from there!"
First time I ever heard the iLouds was at Jimmy Douglass's production suite in Miami a few years ago (2018). Was pleasantly surprised at how good they sounded. If they were good enough for him..... ;-)
Love the Spike Milligan reference!
Haha thanks for noticing!
I hope they release the micros next. Because those are legendary.
REALLY interesting monitors! Thank yoy for the great review!👍
And YES - music removal is georgious! 😉
I have 5 of the gen 1 MTM's for my 5.1 mix room and love them. not sure I need the new versions, but cost of entry against the performance, i've mixed 2 indie movies in surround with these (and a JBL sub) and the translation to even theater was really impressive. not ATC level by any stretch, but for the budget, these really are amazing.
The noise/music removal is unreal :)
Yes, the noise removal tech from Blackmagic really is astounding. Never fails to amaze me and is always my go-to!
@@PresentDayProduction I have deviancy resolve but not really had much chance to learn it yet :( even thou i own 2 BM cameras
Yeah Couldnt hear what they where listening to???
@@PresentDayProduction Can you please give more info on this piece of tech? How does it work and where to get it? Sorry for my ignorance.
THE ENDING !!! XD
Haha thanks ever so much
Great review, thanks🙌🏻
For the mix & master of bass house songs, which of these or the Focal Alpha twin do you recommend I buy as the main monitor?🤔
I remember reading Puckoon 40 years ago. I can thoroughly recommend it and all his war memoirs. Spike Milligan at his best.
Puckoon is such a great book!
I remember that line when he asks someone what time is it, they reach in their pocket and pull out a piece of paper where they written it down after getting it from the local priest a long time before haha
Love the video! Funny and informative.!
I have the jbl 308 but really wanted the tiny iLoud, for doing so much for the price and size
What’s with the cats in the acoustic panels? 😂
FlopCat (a real cat) lives in our studio and those cutouts were put there by a visitor in all our walls when we weren't in the room. There are LOTS of them, EVERYWHERE. I keep finding them, a year later.
@@PresentDayProduction lol thats hilarious. Love the studio btw.
Genelec 7.0 here at work, and at home JBLs, Mackies and the iK Micros.
I would love these but I'd end up not setting them up properly and in my untreated spare bedroom, at which point I might as well be monitoring on a laptop speaker. But I'd still love them.
Quality Monitors I wish I had a pair
Perhaps a silly question... how is the music removed without messing with your spoken voices?
We use DaVinci Resolve for editing, and the Voice Isolation plugin on there (GPU powered) is INSANELY powerful. I've not found anything it can't do yet. Even with loud music like we were listening to here and in our PLAP PDP Tour in a previous video.
Seems like Warren's moving in with the Present Day lads lately lol.
They have an amazing mastering room! Perfect for testing speakers!!
@@Producelikeapro You're very welcome in our studio, Floppy also permits your presence!
Don't tempt me!!!! I already own the iLoud Micro lol
Yeah, finally XLR Inputs!!
iLoud monitors are fine but after time I needed more. Still have some Focal Professional CMS 65 with low mileage that sound better. I would audition the MKII's anyway if their on sale. At $350.00 they mite be a steal!
Thanks for shari g your experiences, that means a lot!
I have a pair of Dynaudio BM6A. They are great, but I would love a second set of smaller speakers for comparison - maybe these would be just right 😊
Fancy sharing how you guys remove the music? Been looking for music removing stuff for a while and I’m hearing hardly any artifacts.

Good video but you forgot an important part, com parison between mk1 and m2, mk1 the bass was clipping even at very mediocre volume, did it happen with generation 2 ?
Neagatory! We got the limiter on when it was extremely loud in quite a large room!
@@Producelikeaprosuperb you answer the question thanks so much for that, Marvellous :)
Everything is so much more fun when you don't read the manual 😀
Can I win the wig from the end instead?! Very funny. 😊
Haha will have to ask Mark! He looked rather attached to it
😄
The "sonic screwdriver" surely ;-)
Been looking at upping my monitor game!
Entering drown below to WIN - he he!!!
My next purchase
Interesting stuff, no doubt. Sadly, I have not had a good experience with IK Multimedia in the past.
Kali In-5's? Half the price. Add the Kali WS-6.2 subwoofer and that's a 4-way system for about £1100! Use this set up in my mixing room with IK Arc 4 correction and it's absolutely superb. 😎
I wanna know how you guys did to gate the music that great without cutting your voice out, amazin sound lol
Ok of they came in white I’m gonna get it
Good question! Not sure if they do or not?
i'dlike those, but with more low-end
I was quite impressed with the low end!
@@Producelikeapro for it's size, definitely
Clarkson's Speaker Farm 🙂
Haha genius
I want these!
Yes please
Did anyone say how they compare to the original version? The new mid cones vs the old? Calibration results of usb (4 point), vs the built-in process (1 point)? Does the volume knob now have an indent at unity?
I found that heavy breathing coming through the mic to be distracting and both concerning if your breathing is that heavy need to start jogging or some fitness routine to reduce your resting heart rate. Really nice monitors i am considering them for travel purposes. Thanks for the video 🙏🏽
I would be curious about your feedback guys on how this can be compared to say genelec 8010 or 20, which actually could be quite competitive money wise on the second hand market
Thanks for this review! I have the first version, very curious how much better it would be..
-> currently I am using old NS1000m Beryllium speakers (because I could not afford the MUM-8 and I cannot immediately sell my Lipinski's, the Yamaha's are better than the first version of these MTMs, especially in detail and dynamics and give a fuller sound)
I also have to agree with Warren with the comparison of the Genelec 1031, I had the same thoughts with the first MTMs, I also had 1031s, sold them because I didn't know anything about acoustics and their effects on the sound at the time.
The MTMs are also very forgiving when installing, you don't have to do an inch of work to get a nice stereo image. (This was certainly not the case with the Genelec's)
Wow , I hope to get lucky then
Great Vid! I would love to upgrade from my iLoud Micros to these. 2 questions though 1st what was the input to them from? (I think maybe the clarett?) and where was flop cat? ;)
Is Warren back in the UK? Or is this just a flying visit?
Poland this week! Texas in two weeks then LA! Germany last month and Italy! Lots going on
@@Producelikeapro Who’s a busy boy then! Really enjoyed the chat with the Present Day Productions team. I think you and them should do more together.
@@markmallinder7618 we definitely will do!
If you switch off the arc do you then get zero latency instead of 2.2ms extra rtl? I wanted to track guitar with as low latency as possible but mix with arc…
So wait, they sound better without the calibration? I’m confused 🤔
I suppose the nearest competitor is the Kali NFUs, but the problem is how do you make speaker choices when relying on online reviews, rather than listening in person.
It's always best to listen to monitors yourself IF YOU CAN, but obviously that isn't always possible if there are no shops near you. Find TH-cam channels you find to be informative, reliable and honest, and that's a great second alternative!
el problema con la calibración es que habían muchas personas en el recinto, puede haber alguna imperfección debido a ello
I use Focal Alpha 50 ver. 1 and a set of Avantone Mixcubes. Thinking if these iLoud are better than my old Focal?
Time to work on a set of MUM-3 GO's lol
Does the xmonitor add any lag when used for playing live? Or are the corrections stored in the speakers themselves?
hello and thank you for the video, I have EVE audio SC205 (of which you made a video) which I use with an IK Multimedia ARC Studio, you think that I would gain something from buying the IK Multimedia iLoud MTM MKII, thank you 'advance
✨️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥Amazing
I know it's no the same price range but would you say these are as good as the Neumann kh80 + kh750 sub + M1 calibration?
Offcourse not, compare them to a set of neumanns without a subwoofer
24:52 *Oh hi Mark !*
Seriously: Lets start a diet NOW ????
this pair or Adam T7V?
8:39 did he plug it in with the PAPER on? -> Fire hazard!
Negatory! Paper was removed
Don't stand behind the speaker when calibrating speaker.
🔥
Why dont use royalty free sounds and let us hear a comparison between different speakers.
Because whatever you're listening on will colour that audio - it's impossible to accurately represent the audio that we're hearing without your own system colouring it.
Hi, I've got a question: what's that little black controller Mark's got on his desk next to his SSL controller at 3:06?
That’s a Loupedeck CT. Like a streamdeck but with knobs on! I mainly use it for shortcuts for loading bits of software - Mark
Dear Warren Huart, if the ruffle copter doesn't choose me, automatically it means you got to send me a pair of speakers
Thank you in advance ❤
LATENCY NUMBERS?
800 bucks each in Australia! I think there are far better options in that price range.

Oooh!
When a hollywood star comes too dinner lol.
😮
Bro not gonna lie, the dude breathing in the mic the entire video was the most obnoxious thing I’ve ever heard
❤🙂👍
Thanks ever so much!
You're not listening to anything! It's funny this way.
Most important question, what was she searching for in her purse? (Starting 14:36)
23:33 😆😆😆😆😆😆
😄🍿🍫
Yes, it's pretty amazing that we can't hear SQUAT!!!!! A pretty good waste of 30 minutes Thank You! But glad to hear you liked whatever you did hear if in fact you did.......lol! Buh Bye!!
The dialogue was pretty clearly mixed - assuming you mean not being able to hear music, that was a deliberate choice to protect against copyright issues. Plus, playing the music over a TH-cam video, then through your own speakers, would be a very inaccurate way of portraying it, and so you're not really missing out!
While the economy collapses 😂
