Why I Sold My IK Multimedia iLoud MTM Studio Monitors For The Adam Audio A7X in 2024? I recently bought the Adam Audio A7X to replace my iLoud MTM pair of monitors by IK Multimedia that I've had since 2022, In this video I narrate my reasons for the switch and the initial purchase and also some insights concerning Studio Monitors too.

@@8notes_ Any advice on static mix? I've spent so much time on compression and other things that I've neglected that part. I guess 80% of me struggling at mixing comes from that step .

@@lebcaleb8692 get the static right and u wont have to do too much later on. Sometimes you dont even need compression.

Agree that if you can avoid DSP and do things more as nature (physics) intended then you will absolutely benefit . That means a properly treated room etc. Having said that, IK multimedia just released the new version of the MTMs with vastly improved everything and it's creating quite the storm.

So how come you didn't try the iLoud MTM Mk2's? They just dropped the new ones recently and maybe all the problems you had with the original MTM's were solved on the new one?

No, the first model was great, so i can imagine the new would be better, but it’s more of an acoustics difference, the small body doesn’t move enough air around for my use case, Size Matters☺️

You realize IK has bigger monitors right? Should’ve just got the precisions. Bigger speaker, handcrafted and still has the dsp.

You're right but the Precisions are still more DSP centric and not acoustically prioritised. It sounds really good but not as "Natural" take the ribbon tweeters in the Adams for example. Plus the precisions cost twice the price for a pair.
