Alternating Cable Cast On for 2 x 2 Ribbing

I have a question about this. If you know you’re going to be doing the ribbing 2x2, why can’t you do your cable cast-on in a 2x2 fashion instead of 1x1, so you wouldn’t have all that fuss of a set-up row?

@@mikkiwachtel2870 I have tried to cast on 2 knits and 2 purls using this technique and the cast on edge has an odd twist to it. I prefer casting on and swapping the stitches which gives a much nicer cast on edge.
I would love to hear if you know of a technique that casts on in 2 x 2 rib.
