With cruise control on it keeps the car at a set speed. Does it then not ignore the coasting options of D+ or D Auto?
I’m wondering if I’m better off with cruise off.

Another superbly detailed video. I guess the default mode "D" without paddles/-/+/Auto is designed to emulate a typical gasoline automatic car with mild deceleration when foot off accelerator so doesn't turn on brake lights

Don't forget that it's not free energy, you can't break Physics! You only get around 65% of the energy back, which means that you will drive longer on a charge if you drive smootly and with planning ahead with NO regeneration than with any kind of regeneration. Your brakes also uses regeneration until you press them really hard.

so D+ saves you battery? im lost i thought D- would make regenerative charging more aggressive

Depends on the situation. If you're on a constant speed, you don't want recuperation and instead will save battery by coasting. Whereas if you're slowing down, you want max recuperation to harness the energy into the battery
